Trying out my OTG cable, and I happen to see that OTG isn't inherently supported, but all of the workarounds seem to be mass storage.
Anyway to get my USB DAC to work on the Nexus 7?

I tried to pair wired mouse, wireless mouse and a gamepad with OTG cable and even with mini-USB to USB.
Nothng's working and it doesn't even read it.
Any ideas why and what should I do?

Issue 22038: USB OTG doesn't work at all.
ICS supports it but the Galaxy Nexus does not. there is a mod in the development section that allows USB devices to work.

?
unlocked he bootloader, rooed my nexus, flashed recovery and flashed this kernel and still no support for usb devices...
any way google will support it in the nexus in the future?
My wife's got a fancy CR-V has a USB connector to allow you to play music via USB. Works fine with the iPhone, but when I connect my Nexus I keep getting unsupported USB. I've tried all the different modes for the USB connection. The manual doesn't say that it only works with an iPhone so I was hoping there is a way around it Anyone have any suggestions?
Thats because SGN doesn't support USB mass storage mode due to it lacking a separate SD card.
Might want to check if crv supports Bluetooth audio.

To be clear: I'm not talking about activating USB mass-storage (slave) mode connected to a PC. I'm talking about connection a USB OTG adapter and USB-storage to the phone and storing or fetching data from that in CWM, like ZIPs or backups etc.
Iirc there was a build for the Asus transformer (TF101) which does this. Is there anything remotely similar for the Galaxy Nexus?
I'm running the latest touch-based builds and it only seems able to work with internal storage.
Yes, there is. The SGN can act as an USB host. As I just tried, when an USB-storage is connected to the SGN over OTG cable, then I can see /dev/sda and /dev/sda1 with "cat /proc/partitions" at the terminal.
But, have to do some work else to mount the device automatically when connected.
Note: It is very important to have an OTG cable with pin 4 connected to pin 5 at the mini-USB connector.
I do have all that. I'm talking specifically about using USB OTG while in CWM.
Any (Gnex) builds which allows that yet?
(Thanks for the answer though )
No, you have to make the backup on your phone and manually move them over

Hi all,
I've done a search regarding this and cannot find any relevant posts. My Ouya micro usb port has physically broken and i'm trying to recover my ouya again. I can boot it to recovery screen via usb keyboard but have no way of physically connecting to it since my micro usb port is broken. Would there be any way of connecting a Nexus 7 via OTG cable to the other standard usb port? Or can anyone suggest another method of connecting?
Wireless is out, cannot flash from usb pen drive have I any options left?
Could you somehow do adb over a wired network?

I've recently purchased a Nexus 7 2013 device and have just ordered a USB OTG cable so I can play movies off a large USB key.
I was just wondering, is it possible to get a full desktop USB keyboard working with the Nexus 7 and that same cable? Do I need any special apps or anything else to get this to work?
I don't need mouse support, just a USB keyboard. TIA
