Hi,
I am using the hyperdrive rom and was wondering if it is possible to lower the dpi resolution so it all becomes a bit smaller.
I know there are many apps in playstore but they dont do a propper job.

Did you try Build prop Editor ? You have to play with ro.sf.lcd_density (Increase the value to increase the icon's size).

I have set lcd density to 200 running cm rc2 and the icons look fuzzy (time looks fine though). Whats the problem?
Also, what other roms give me the option to change density?

Change the settings and try different numbers, you can use any rom and have lcd density, download it from the market.
I guess that wasnt clear - what roms are themed well enough to work with lower density?
Can someone attach lcd density here please.
Sent from my Desire HD using XDA App
open /system/build.prop in a text editor using root explorer and change the value there
ok thanks mate.

Hi, I have been reading about this in this forum. How does it work.? I mean our gnex is 320 dpi. Does it mean that when we drop the value of our dpi will result in bigger text/image resolution. Is it the same as computer monitor resolution, that is when resolution is lowered it will result in bigger, less sharper, lower quality images and text. What are the uses of lowering dpi? Thanks in advance.

yep its true, if you reduce the dpi it would resutl in a bigger text and icons
it help ppl who dont like small text,
rom PA 2.99+ has this feature, to change every app dpi , its cool you chould try it
And by this I don't mean installing ParanoidAndroid (since there's lack of progress there and it doesn't have all the features).
Anyway, is there a way I could run a Nexus 7-like UI on my Note 2?
Cheers
Uhmmm... set the dpi to 213 or lower...?
install something like ROM TOOLBOX
then use it to alter your DPI in the build prop settings
i think 189 looks brilliant and gives the proper phablet look.

Done that, it does not give the phablet UI.
@terminal 7: thanks, that's the DPI I was after!

Is your phone rooted ? If Yes edit build.prop and set dpi to 180
and if you don't want to search for build.prop just download texdroider from pkaystore and set your dpi to 180

Changing dpi to a lower level will make the touchwiz unfit u can tell op about this
So i like to keep my screen dpi at a nice 420. Everything works fine except that the sense dialer is to big and covers contact names. Is there a way to fix this? I'm assuming I need to change the dpi of just this app, but I am unaware of any per app dpi mods for this phone.
I'm on leedroid if it matters
What app did you use to change the dpi? I'm on LeeDroid and used Texdroider to change the dpi down to 420 and my dialer is just fine.

Just straight build. Prop edit. Will try with the app
Update: its a bust, still to big. What dpi are you using?
Grab the xposed module "app settings", some of the settings it manages is per-app dpi, resolution, font scaling, the works. I use it to keep sense home, the themes app, and dialer all at stock 480
Yeah, I made a mistake. My Texdroider settings didn't stick at boot for some reason so I was back on the default 480dpi when I looked at my dialer. Set it to 420 and have the same issue that you do.

i forgot about xposed, but would really like to hold off on using it until it hits stable status (or at least auto updates with fixes)
