I'm going to buy G3 16gb/2gb next week.
Is there a significant difference between 16gb model and the 32gb? In terms of lag/stutters?
Any G3 16gb/2gb users can confirm that please?
Thanks.
No nothing
More redraws on the 2gb because of the greater amount of RAM used for the QHD screen 600mb QHD Vs 300mb HD.
Hey!
Would like to know if it is noticeble the difference between the LG G3 the version of 3Gb of RAM from the 2Gb of RAM.
Any one have tested or know?
Thanks.
G3 uses 1.5 gb of ram at all times, so if you get the 2 gb version itll always be pretty close to the ceiling

'One' of the main reasons I got the G3 was that it has 3GB ram. Most modern phones are pretty similar in terms of speed but memory makes a big difference. You can get by with 2gb but 3GB is much better and makes it much more future proof.
If you are using dual window for all apps through the little mod, you are less likely to have issues with running low on memory.

Currently it doesn't really matter - Android 4.4 requires only 512 MB.
The reason why a device with much RAM shows a high RAM usage is that Android considers empty/unused RAM to be wasted. As long as there is RAM available it will fill it with apps. It doesn't require additional battery power to keep a currently unused app in the RAM, it even saves power (and time) at the app's next usage because instead of loading the app it just needs to shove it to the front.
There is a defined amount of RAM that is kept empty for instantaneous usage, but everything else will get filled - provided that there are enough apps to fill it with. Android's memory management keeps track of your app usage. Apps that are used regularly get a high priority, seldom used apps a low one. If the system runs out of memory it will close low priority apps, beginning with those that haven't been used for the longest amount of time.
The only difference between 2 GB and 3 GB is that more seldom used apps can be held in the RAM. Under normal circumstances you shouldn't be able to tell the difference between 2 GB and 3 GB. About half of the devices shipped with KitKat still only have 1 GB.
Android L will probably require 1 GB - and with the 64bit support it might even result in devices with more than 4 GB of RAM. But that will be just for marketing, not because there is a technical need. Same as now with the 3 GB devices.
But I have to admit: I am a sucker for specs as well. I think about buying a G3 and since the surcharge for the 32 GB flash and the 3 GB RAM is only about 10% if will most likely go for the bigger one. I try to hide being suckered with the argument that 32 GB of flash are a lot better than 16 GB. - RAM? There is a difference in RAM sizes?
Hi i purchased the LG G3 16GB two months ago and i was wondering, how much difference there is between 2gb to 3gb? if i can, shall i dish a bit more money to get the 3gb? i want it to be futurproof as much as possible.
Minimal different, do a Google search on LG G3 16GB vs 32GB.

i did, some says it feels much better some says there isn't much difference.
It's the same device, same chipset, the only difference is RAM and storagesize.
Unless you fill up 2GB of RAM (which would be rare), you won't notice any difference.

3GB is very good for heavy multitasting, otherwise you don't feel any difference
hello all, i really need your help.
in August, i was buying a asus zenfone 2 from amazon. i was buying the 64GB that should be with 2.3GHZ and 4G ram. but, i got problem here.
i entered before 4 days to my setting to Hardware Information and there it write to me i got 3G ram and other battery version from my friend that he got also zenfone 2.
i'm realy afraid that i buy something wrong, and i really need your help..
pls help me, ty.
There's a 2gb, 3gb and 4gb version. By the way, Amazon only has 4gb/2gb models so go nuts.

Could be that the device isn't true 64-bit (an issue which has come up before), and available memory is hitting the 3GB ceiling (happens with Intel-based 32-bit PC's as well, with the ceiling ranging from 3GB to 3.5GB). CPU-Z is just showing a more accurate picture of total RAM (once some overhead is taken out).
More likely, could also be the way settings displays it, for that firmware version. If you are using different firmwares, the readings can be different.
Also, if your friend bought from Amazon as well, and the battery version is different (eg., mine is Z2C3), it could have been a different batch of phones, yet same model (e.g. different seller on Amazon). in that case, it's inconsequential.
What is your phone model number? Mine reads ASUS_Z00AD (I have the 2GB model).
3904mb is near of 4gb.
You hardly (or can't) find a phone that give you exactly RAM amount in spec.
Always below 100-200mb for GPU mem or something.

Nope, just making sure you didn't have the Laser.
Z00A(D) is made up of several variants, varying in CPU Speed (1.8Ghz/2.3Ghz), RAM (2GB/3GB/4GB), and storage (16GB/32GB/64GB, I hear that 128GB also exists).
Based on your CPU-Z (and System settings). you have the 2.3GHz/4GB/64GB model. So enjoy, and don't worry about the settings glitch!

Which is caused by firmware difference or they were looking at a different value in CPU-Z. There is no such thing as RAM manufactured for 3904MB. It's always as powers of 2 (with sometimes a 3 thrown in. e.g. 3072MB - that is 3GB of RAM). The reason you are getting 3904MB and 3GB is because of overhead (e.g GPU). That stuff reserves memory and takes it out of the equation (My old phone has 768MB RAM, but settings always lists 518MB due to hardware and kernel's overhead). Your firmware settings is then glitching and rounding down.
If you use a different firmware version than currently (i.e. same version as your friend), you will get 4GB listed instead. If the situation still concerns you, make sure you are running the latest update.
Did LG do an LG G3 with only 8GB of memory.
I think there is no g3 with 8gb memmory. You shoul take of battery and read imei or with some other method find exact your g3 model and then flash rom for your g3.
Edit: or your model is g3 mini or g3 s model... That is not real lg g3
@Shlong7, people sometimes use memory when referring to RAM or storage. For me it means RAM. If that's what you meant then no, no G3 phones with 8GB. 3GB was the max for the main line of phones (D85x/LS990/VS985).
The D72x series (S, Beat, Vigor) have only 8GB of storage. Maybe that's what you were thinking of?
LG G3 D851, Mahdi v2.9 ROM (4.4.4), microG (NoGApps), MultiROM, XDA Legacy
Thanks for you're reply.
