Request: LG G3 F460 file. Phone is screwed up after reseting the phone. "rooted"
Hey guys I need help and I think you are the only people that can help me.
I have the Korean version of the LG G3 cat 6 460s. I rooted the phone using stump root and everything is fine.
today I decided to reset the phone and I did. now every time I power on the phone it prompt me for the initial setup of the phone, the volume up and down keys no longer works, notification doesn't work. the home button icon doesn't even work " only back button on the screen lol "
I tried to do hard reset by turning off the phone and holding the power and volume down button method but it doesn't work.
the only method I believe or I think I have a chance is with flash tool. but I really need the files required for this model. where can I get them.
is their an LG official pc suit for this model I can download from LG directly ? am I $%#ed ?
please help me in this I don't want an expensive paperweight phone

Lgbbs.net. did you check there?
This shouldn't be in development.

I honestly do not know where this should be in. but I figured this section is where most tech people who are into flashing roms will be available and I need help. sorry if it this is in the wrong section.
I did look into that site. they are charging 800 credits for it and each 50 credit is like 1$. so that file is 16$.
its not much and I will go for it if I do not have any alternative.
please guys let me know if there is any
also. which one do I need ? KDZ or TOT ?

I got the files. If you have some place to upload them I can share them to you (and everyone). Happened exactly the same to me.

Happened to me too. You need to delete some media device added when you connect the phone (thats what windows thinks it is) so it can auto-detect it again correctly.
Uploading the files now. I got a ****ty upload speed so be patient.

Sorry, just got that you have the "other devices" so forget about the multimedia thing I said. You have to change the drivers (normally one of them is from microsoft) to the ones from LG (by updating manually and finding the inf in you HD manually). Windows will say the driver is not compatible but you can ignore that.

There is de DLL and a text file with the address in MEGA for the TOT file.
Tell me if you have any trouble.
After the whole process you will end with a blue or green screen (dont remember), dont worry, just reboot and you will be back on stock.
Good luck

Thank you. I will update later when I get home. Thanks again mate

Similar thing happened to me too, after I screwed up the file system. Download LG Flash Tool 2014 and the applicable .KDZ ROM, select normal, then wait for 100%
Oh and this does not wipe your device.
Edit: does not belong in Development, you have years experience and should know better.

Please post help and questions threads in the QUESTION AND ANSWER / TROUBLESHOOTING thread.
Under no circumstances should non development threads be started in the development section

No problem. If by the way you happen to get your hands in a non korean LG G3, can you share the LGWeather.apk located in system. I'm trying to get rid of kweather provider and home being in Korea.

Is any possible way to downgrade software?

My device is bricked and when I tried to flash V10F_00.kdz via LGMobile Support Tool, I got error message "The Cell phone is the latest version already. So you don't need to update." So if anyone knows another way to downgrade/upgrade software, I'll be happy to try.

I can't. Update tool says I have a latest software version and I don't need to update my phone. I tried to flash v10i yesterday, but something gone wrong and it stopped. And now my version is v10i, but I can't get into recovery, adb, I just can get into download mode and factory reset, but reset doesn't work too. Only possible way I see, it's waiting for new software version. But how long?
Are you being sure you have the right updater? It should be the UpTestEX_mod2_marwin.exe file...it will install the kdz regardless of the version, etc. You have to have the mobile tool installed as well but don't use it...just the marwin.exe

Of cause I used UpTestEX_mod2_marwin.exe
Very interesting I spoke with people who have the same problem. They got the same message from update tool like me. It seems like LG blocked something in their update server. Everyone who tried restore their rom to v10i version by update tool can't do this.
What if you disable internet on your computer?
I'm gonna try this method anyway, I still have nothing to lose, but how it may help?
I disabled internet on my computer and launched the update tool, and got this message "Please, check your internet line and excute program again." Then I tried to launch update via KDZ_FW_UPD.exe and got pop-up window with this message "Program "MOD UpTestEX MFC Application" stopped running. Close program."
From another board, maybe it,s worth a shot
When you run the Update tool, don't have the G2x plugged into the USB port. Once the App is running plug the G2x in and wait for it to be recognized... Does it still say that it is up todate? In the upper right of the Update tool windows, does it show the Model of the G2x and below that, it should show the version, something like 10F? Are there any letters at the end of the model No like "LG-P999DW-DU" OR LG-P999DWR" ??
There were a couple of Variants of the Model No that weren't recognized by the upda
OK, got it! 20th time's a charm! The key thing, after doing all the prep work as directed on the website, do not connect the phone until AFTER you launch the LGMobile Support Tool. This was suggested to me by the LG Forum Moderator.
However, the LGMST did not launch correctly until many attempts. Sometimes it seemingly launched but the text was a bunch of question marks. Other times I received a message stating the server would be down for several days in July 2011. Sometimes I tried to launch it and was told it was already running. I would have to go into the Task Manger and terminate the process.
When it finally launched correctly, the text was all legible and in the upper right-hand corner the app correctly identified my model (LGP999DW) and version (10F as I recall). Then I was told to connect the phone and the "Start Updating" bar was activated. I selected the Start Updating bar and the process commenced taking about thirty minutes.
You are clearly instructed to not disconnect the phone etc. Also, you are told that your phone will restart upon completion of the update. Be advised, the phone restart takes several minutes and then you finally are back to your familiar phone environment. I did not select the "Exit" button from the LGMST until my phone was fully booted.

he same problem, but I think that all depends on the lg suite. or the site that you download it. I tried in two different sites and finally I succeed in both, pc and lap top. try to uninstall and re-install the lg suite from different sites.
doesn't work..
Thx anyway!

Sprint LS970 Unbricking and Firmware Flashing Using LG Flash Tool

I have a new method how too flash your bricked phone back to factory stock or too flash any stock firmware . This flash is the LG Official firmware. This flash will wipe out everything and correctly flash prl, stock recovery, all partition. So let the get the ball rolling and lets hopefully get your phone back too fully working. Please follow all steps no short cutting, or altering files may cause issues with hardware and software too your phone. Please make sure you can get your phone in download mode before doing anything else.If your Sprint LS970 can get into download mode . This method will fix any bricked issues and also can use too flash any of the LS970 firmware versions .
Directions - Please read them carefully
1. Please make sure you have your LG Drivers installed before you start this process
2. Please download this file from this link provided http://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=23159073880933271
3. When the download is complete. Please open the zip folder and you will see a folder inside the zip called LG. take the LG folder and move it too C: drive
4. Please have at least 60 percent battery or more and put the phone in download mode. too get the phone in download mode. Make sure your phone is completely off. once you have done that . Hold both volume buttons together and plug usb cord and then when you see download mode you can release the volume button and now you are in download mode.
5. Now go too your device manager and look for your com ports and find your LGE Android USB Serial Port. Now double click it and look for advance and then click it. now we have too change the com port too 41. when you are done press ok and close it out.
6. Unplug your usb connection from phone and leave phone in download mode.
7. Now open your windows explorer go to C:\LG\LGFLASHTOOL and look for the filename LGFLASHTOOL and right click it and run as admin.
8. The program will open up. Now we need too program the LG Flashtool Software with Official LG DLL and Firmware and Comm Port
9. Go to port settings in the LG FlashTool program and select port 1 only. and please ok
10. now we need too go too model settings in LG FlashTool and we need too select dll starting with LGLS970. and select tot or bin files that shows your phone model. I know it will show that we show the tot or bin file and dll already setup. But we too remove them and re add them. So do that now by choosing manual mode. and then select your LGLS970.dll and tot or bin and please ok when done.
11. Now we are ready too flash the phone.
12. too start the flash you will press the arrow on the top left side of LG FlashTool and when the box shows ready, just plug your usb cord into the phone and the phone will start flashing . Once it has started the process don't let your pc go into sleep mode and don't unplug the phone during the flashing process. once the flash is done the phone will reboot and perform a factory reset and when that is done . the phone will reboot fully too hand free activation. at that point you can unplug the phone from usb and close out the lg flashtool.
13. Good Luck and hope this guide will help you and please show me so love and click the thanks button or donate too me button. too help with LG Unbrick Project
P.S. please follow the pictures too match the directions and don't change or shortcut things.

Ever since this phone came out, we've been using LGNPST. It's kind of a pain to get, but once you get it and setup, seems pretty easy to use.
This LGFlashTool has been mentioned off and on for other purposes/uses, but never (that I can remember) used for flashing phones to Factory.
Reading your Guide, LGFlashTool does seem to be more thorough, as it seems to wipe EVERYTHING, and you end up starting from scratch. ie Hands free activation proves that.
I think I just answered my own question. LGNPST is easy for the masses. Whereas LGFlashtool is better for REALLY wiping/cleaning up the phone. Almost more for shop work. If that makes sense.
Please don't take this wrong, I'm not being mean. I was just curious about it's use. And I just figured it out as I wrote this.
It's great to have another option. And nice writeup. Thanks

Honestly, since your sd card was formatted and you've already lost everything I would just use LGNPST back to stock. Here is a link to @engine95's thread for rooting/unlocking here. You will see the link for lgnpst and teenybins. You will need to use irc and go to the #lg-optimus-g channel to get the download links for it. Once you enter the irc channel, at the very top you will see "You won't read this but..." followed by a link. Click that link and you will find everything you could possibly need. Some people(depending on version of Windows) have problems with LGNPST and the LG drivers, so in the links you will find a vmware image with LGNPST already set up. And instead of using a teenybin, just use the most recent full stock bin. All the directions, files, etc will be right there after following that link in the irc. If you dont have vmware workstation just google it - you can get a free fully functional copy from their website for a month - as well as how to set it up using an existing virtual image. Once set up, just follow the directions in the irc links for download mode and LGNPST. Doing this will essentially put your phone back to stock factory settings, so you will have to reroot and unlock the bootloader again once it's done - but at least you will have a functioning phone again.
It may seem complicated at first but I had to do this once and it was pretty easy. The vmware image will already have the proper drivers installed and will lead to less troubleshooting/problems. But make sure you use vmware workstation NOT oracle virtualbox. Virtualbox had usb issues with LGNPST and I never got the vmware image to work properly - vmware workstation worked like a charm. Hope this helps!
EDIT: And if you have a nandroid backup saved to your pc, after rooting/unlocking again - as long as you are using the same recovery you can move the nandroid from your pc back to your phone and restore it. If not, make sure you not only make a backup this time but save a copy to your pc in case anything like this happens again.
I think i got into irc?? But i dont see what your talking about.

The address is webchat.freenode.irc from a web browser. Then pick a nickname, and for channel type '#lg-optimus-g" without quotations, leave both check boxes blank, fill out the the captcha and hit connect. As soon as you connect you will see links at the top of the channel. Click the link after "Need Help? You won't read this but..." and that's all the links you will need. If you do need further help, simply ask someone in the irc channel. Sorry I just got back to you, Ive been super busy.
EDIT: On second thought, here is the link in the irc with all the guides you will need. Get the stock zvc .bin file from engine's thread that I linked to earlier and grab the vmware image from the link in this edit. You could use the stock zvb bin found in the link above but then you will have to update to zvc, easier to just use the one engine has in his guide.
Have you ever put your phone into download mode? Its simple, once you download vmware workstation, the vmware image, the stock bin and get it all set up - make sure your phone is completely powered down. Plug the usb into your pc, but before connecting the other end to your phone hold both volume buttons in, then connect it. Your phone should turn on and be in download mode. Then you are ready to use LGNPST and flash the stock bin. If you need the .dll file in LGNPST that can also be found in the link I just gave you but I think the vmware image may have it already installed? Can't remember, just make sure you are using ls970/sprint or whatever.
So i run the auto lgnpat and it installs the drivers for download mode and registers the dll. then when i try to run the regular lgnpst program it says failed to load dll skin ? Sorry im such a noob guys thanks

Vmware workstation is virtualization software. Vmware wont help you by itself. It runs operating systems from within other operating systems. If you are on windows and want to run mac osx or linux(or even android), thats what vmware does. In the links from irc you will see a vmware image with lgnpst already set up. So you run that image in workstation and it will boot into a windows xp build with lgnpst and drivers already set up EXACTLY as they should be. Make sense?
If it's too difficult you can just try setting lgnpst up on your current pc, the irc links have guides for everything. Personally I think it was much easier to just load the virtual image in workstation because its configured exactly as it should be.
The goal is to run LGNPST - it's LG's flashing tool which is why we cant link directly to it.
EDIT: Didnt see your and engine's other replies, just the notification I had for this one - if you already have lgnpst, follow his directions for the fix, dont worry about vmware - unless you cant get lgnpst to work. Then try running lgnpst from the vmware image.

It might depend on how you are using it. If you just tried to open it with vm it wont, you have to set up vm using an existing vm file. Google for instructions, again its simple and takes just a few steps to set up.

1.What version of Windows are you running?
2.Can you move files to and from your SD? Just regular old files.
3.Do you have ADB installed?
Answer those questions first and we'll go from there.

Windows 7 64bit adb is installed and when i plug in my phone i get nothing, in download mode or sideload. Id like to just use adb and throw a rom on it to get it going. Essentially my problem is my phone will not connect to my pc

So I've done it . I'm not sure if the LG Flash tool works for Sprint but if so where can I find the firmware files for ZV4? I would appreciate any help. Thanks

Check out THIS guide by fergie716. Pay real close attention to number 17, make sure you change action mode to board dl. Read the WHOLE guide, a few times, before you try to unbrick your phone. HERE is your tot and dll files. You will need to unzip the zip file to get your tot file from it. DO NOT try to use the zip file, you need the .tot file from within it. The dll file is not zipped, so use it as it stands. Let me know if you have any questions. HERE is an image to help.

Trust me, it took me several hours of hair pulling out to figure out that I didnt have action mode set to board dl, which pushes firmware to the circuit board, the other setting seems to be for upgrading firmware through LG flashtool. Many people are changing their build prop without knowing that after you save it, its truncating or shortening it. When you reboot phone, its seeing the shortened version, which softbricks the phone.

Well that did the trick. It toon forever cause i only had a mac to work with so i had to virtualbox windows 7 to get flashtool to work. But for me some of the steps werent in order. The phone didnt send the drivers still i did the unplug for 5 secs. Once i plugged it back in then it i stalled the drivers so i could change the com to 41.but once i did that. It flashed the tot. And really. I like this version better cause the other i couldnt change the boot animation but i saw that this version booted it the international boot animation so i was able to successfully change it. Big thanks to you Joey. Big thanks for saving my ass. lol

[Q] Hard Bricked D851

I bricked my T Mobile G3 D851 by flashing Dark Knight 5.0 rom that was in this thread. I didn't think much of it because normally roms are in the right places in xda, I understand its my fault and there is no one to blame but myself. I just need some help restoring it. It does not turn on at all. I plugged it into the computer however, it showed some life. My computer was installing the drivers automatically but it fails. So there has to be a way to fix this right??

If you can get into Download mode, then your softbricked and can reflash full firmware.. If not, Then sorry, unless you have a Jtag, there is not much you can do.
The drivers you think are installing are not the ones that you could use to do anything. I only know this because I have hardbricked a G3 before as well.
Hopefully yours is only softbricked.

When plugged in and your computer recognizes it, starts installing drivers it could be drivers adb, I would think if the phone was truly off it wouldn't do anything. Could be wrong tho, do you have adb set up? What happens when you run adb devices?

So when the phone won't power on at all the computer will still detect it to install drivers? Not trying to be a smart ass, I have never bricked anything and truly just curious.

don't waste your time trying to get it fix.i did the same thing and i never found a way to fix it.i bought the phone second hand so no t-mobile warranty then my only solution was calling lg and since the phone has a one year warranty with lg it do not matter if you have a receipt or not. i send it to lg with label and ra# they provided.took 2 weeks but lg fix my lg g3 for free. try that.for what i found out is the only solution at the moment for hardbrick.
If it doesn't turn on, I suggest you either use your warranty for LG Repair Service ( like I did) or get a new replacement from LG or T-Mobile. There is no way to fix this problem atm and if your computer recognize the device, its going to be called QHSUSB_DLOAD. It took me a week to figure out that I had to send it to LG. Remember guys, this is hardbricked( can't turn on/ dead motherboard) so no download mode
I really don't want to send my G3 to Lg because I'm a senior in High School and I don't want to lose my pictures :/ I have an animation on popping up now but its for low battery i guess. other than that nothing is happening. I'll post a pic

sorry to tell you this but everything on that phone is already lost.send it to lg for repair it will only take 2 weeks and you will have a working phone again.when i bricked mine i spend 2 weeks trying to fix it i even offer a bounty to anyone who can figure how to fix it and no one could finally give up and called lg.

If you dont wanna loose your pics, that should have been backed up on external or cloud then your prob out of luck. but you can also find some phone repair place and let them hook your phone up to Jtag and reflash your phone... jtag is hard to explain, it requires soldering...... So if you dont know what it is, then dont try it your self.
PS:.. Tell us what it says in Device manger when you plug in your phone to USB.. click view and view hidden devices in device manger. take screen shot if you must.
you might just might be able to fix yor problem. if you can see the bat thing. then could just be a softbrick.. but without download mode you wont be able to fash anything.

Update 2/15
Okay so my g3 was hard bricked I sent it to factory, they replaced the internal storage and sent me back same phone (I checked IMIE) It came updated so It was patched. I downgraded it and rooted it again I put latest version on TWRP and now I'll be paying closer attention to what I flash and don't flash. Thank you guys for your support and trying to help me. I really appreciate it.
Guess who hard bricked his phone again?
So this is kinda a rant because I went where I was supposed to go this time and I read for the most part but again error in the posts and forums. I went to the reference guide and was looking for a stock version of lollipop (I didn't know it hasn't come out yet)
http://forum.xda-developers.com/tmobile-lg-g3/general/ref-t-mobile-lg-g3-links-guides-roms-t2860576
scrolled down and clicked cloudy rom http://forum.xda-developers.com/lg-g3/development/rom-cloudyg3-1-0-t2917467
it took me to another post not ment for d851 I scroll down and look at the features "Based on latest LG G3 official ROM"
okay im sold. I read the intructions and i download what i have to and do everything perfect
I flash the lolipop base band check
Start flashing cloudy, a menu pops up with different variants no d81 so i exit installation and do advanced wipe except internal and external
install another rom so everything is good in the hood, wipe cache and reboot
I check my phone and nothing. It's hard bricked. THE F***king base band bricked my phone. I have to send my phone to factory again if they do it for free, most likely not because this is my second time. then if they do, i have to pay shipping and handling, then pay someone to unlock the sim because im not on tmobile anymore I'm on cricket :/ Not everyone here is an expert on all of this, i understand its no ones fault but my own but **** when i go here i think these guys are pros and experts on mods, roms, etc. when a legitimate post is stabled and says its the guide i expect it to be right and not have to worry. I go back to cloudy rom post and i scroll down more and i see FAQ
This ROM no longer support my variant since 2.0? I'm using D850/D851/LS990/VS985, can I flash this Lollipop version?
- No, you guys cant use this Lollipop version (2.0). You must wait till LG release official ROM for your variant first to have new kernel & baseband.
- Anyway, if you wanna use my KitKat ROM, you can get it (version 1.2) here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/devd...6315#downloads
Gee thanks for that. A completely different link. why couldn't that be the first thing or something. ugh. Thank you for whoever read my whole rant. I hope someone hears me out and sparks a change.

I guess you paid the price for rushing thru the process. Sometimes we get caught up in the moment. Its been clear for days, weeks and months that stock LP for TMO G3 has not been released and much development is hinging on that release. I myself have been rooting phones/tablets for years and been fortunate not to make mistakes (or catch myself in time before doing so) and never even had a soft brick experience to date. I hope you got it sorted out
