I cant flash my DHD with REVOLUTION HD.. it show an error STATUS 1
What does it means?
I think I got that once. It was a bad SD card. Formatting wouldnt fix it. I had to use another.
Could be a bad download as well.
I have the same problem, but with HTC Desire S:
Code:
Finding update package...
Opening update package...
Installing update...
E:Error in \sdcard\Endymion_V3.1_base_release.zip
(Status 1)
Installation aborted.
I found somewhere, that format SD card can help, but I need to try it first before I can say, if it is true.
EDIT: Yes, it really helped. I just format SD card, put there only that ROM zip and that's it.
how do you transfer ROM zip to your sd card after you format your SD?
In my case, i did a FULL-Wipe 1.5 twice then get this error...now i can't install custom rom...any help?
Problem Solved
just unmount system then install full wipe 1.5 then install custom rom...
Below my solution:
1) formatted sd
2) re-copied in rom zip file
3) retried to flash, and still get error status 1
4) disconnected battery, reconnected, entered bootloader (vol down + power)
5) from bootloader re-entered recovery, tried again to flash, worked
bye

This might save somebody some time
Had the same problem, found a simpler solution that doesn't requre formatting your SD card.
1. From recovery, reboot into recovery.
It's one of the options under advanced.
2. Flash your desired .zip from SD card.
3. Then it should work.
This solution is easier to do than the guys above.
This thread is a month old so you're a bit late - and that's what they were doing, but it was giving the status 1 error.

Unfortunately today on my display appeared a yellow vertical line from the battery icon up to the very top. This has to be a dead screen.
Since I have bought the device my GPS does not respond at all no-mater what I do...
Therefore I decided it is time to return it to ACER for a warranty repair. Of course I have unlocked my device and installed every possible tweak that exist here in the dev forum. So I want to ask if there is a way to return the device totally stock as it was out of the box or if the unlocking and rooting does void the warranty?
Thank you
HOW TO GUIDE:
1. USB Driver Acer A100 http://global-download.acer.com/GDFiles/Driver/USB/USB_Acer_1.000_A32H_A.zip?acerid=634486286202185014&Step1=Tablet&Step2=ICONIA%20TAB&Step3=A100&OS=a08&LC=en&BC=Acer&SC=PA_6
2. Unlock mode + Recovery required (search for this in dev Forum)
3. Download Official ICS (also in dev forum - use the 300MB version, for me the 250MB didn't work)
4. Copy the file to the Integrated memory of your A100
5. Enter recovery(HOLD power & Vol+ > after vibrate release Power and wait) and install the update.zip by scrolling to it (if you are not sure what to do just read or watch youtube on "how to navigate in recovery")
6.Wait until extracted and then reboot system
7. Wait until everything is brought back to stock
I really need some help because I have to return it soon...I just want to wipe it clean as it came from the factory, without anything on it.
Please help me

Supposedly the stock ics official update.zip will relock it and put back to Acer factory status.

Could you be a little bit more specific? I mean if you do have a couple of minutes to write a guide for me, I could than structure it, add tags and afterwards it could help a lot of people in my situation...
I would be very pleased to get help from you!
nandroid in the beginning!
I want to add that after I updated to the official ics, as by many guides, I made a nandroid backup. So it was in the very beginning before I began optimizing! Should I just restore this backup?

You can but you'll still have an unlocked bootloader and custom recovery. I'll try to find some time but right now I'm short and 13% battery lol

I think you can use ad to wipe the recovery and lock the bootloader-
Sent from my A100 using XDA
I truly thank you about trying to help me and giving me suggestions but what is "ad". I am as much of a "hacker" as I could follow the guides in this forum. I am not familiar with the basics and all the hard work behind every new ROM, Kernel, tweak etc... Therefore I really need some kind of a guide or few steps.
For example: if I download the official ics from the dev forum > run the recovery > wipe clean(as by the books) > install the official .zip would that be a true factory reset - locked, no root , no "NASA" stuff
thank you

Put the update.zip on your SD, hold volume down and power, it restores to stock ics.
The stock official update.zip is around the forum someplace. Maybe in the dev forum.

For example: if I download the official ics from the dev forum >copy it to the external sd> run the recovery > wipe clean(as by the books) > install the official .zip would that be a true factory reset?
P.S. I just do NOT want to brick my device, better ask first
Another question/problem: I went to recovery and prepared to run the >>>System Nullify: Nullifies /cache /data /system. THIS DELETES INTERNAL SD!<<<
When I choose to use a zip from SD card it opens the devices integrated memory, BUT when I use a zip from Internal SD it opens the micro SD card. So does that mean it will erase everything from my INTERNAL SD = micro SD(external), dew to recovery internal sd is the external sd....very confusing!
So what happend, I ran the script than I applied the update.zip(from external SD, extracted successfully) from here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1307046 FULL PACKAGE
and now I am stuck at ACER logo with bootloader still UNLOCKED!
What are my options?
P.S. I have tried the http://support.acer.com/acerpanam/tablets/2011/Acer/ICONIATab/ICONIATabA100/ICONIATabA100faq9.shtml FACTORY RESET but as soon as it started to "Erasing Userdata..." , reboots and I am again stuck at ACER UNLOCKED MODE logo...
I am now with wiped clean FlexR but I do not know how to install the official ICS?! What should I do?

My nullifier only does internal no matter what's mounted. Its hard coded to do /data which contains /data/media which is internal. It does not do sdc or external or any other partitions besides /cache /data /system. So basically no, it couldn't unless your recovery mounts external to one of those mount points, which none do unless its been changed.
Tldnr doesn't do external no matter what.

I was thinking of installing the Wildchild ROM but wasn't sure if a few things that I use on a daily basis were working because nobody had asked about them..
Anyway,
1. Does the Camera work?
2. Does Mobile Network work?
3. How much Internal Storage is user available?
4. What's the difference between the Odex'ed version and the De-Odex'ed version?
Thanks! :highfive:

1.Yes
2. Yes
3. Depends if you have data 2sd or link2sd.
4. You can theme deodexed version. Odex has more internal memory.
Use odex if u want to use link2sd. Otherwise deodex. No doubt it has got everything working accept for HTC bloatwares. If u want pure sense u can always choose wildchild sense.
For internal storage go to the link in my sign and check the second last image.

From the horse's mouth:
1. Like a ****ing BOSS!
2. (See above.)
3. That info is provided to you in a snazzy (yet outdated) graphic in Post #1 of the original WildChild thread. Found here, for your viewing pleauremints.
4. Lots of good tutorials here on XDA will explain that in detail but the nutshell is this: ODEX == (more room in the /data partition); DEODEX == (more room in the /system partition). Since it is desirable for most sane users to have as much users space in /data (for your apps!) then it is in your best interest to try the ODEX'ed version. If, however, you wanna get funky with Link2SD (or a2sd/data2sd/etc.) and desire to theme my ROM, then you'll wanna get DeOdex'ed because it will be a pain in the ass to mod otherwise.
Take care, and don't forget to slap a THANKS my way, Billie Jean!

Flashed it, it's brilliant! Love the transitions and lock-screen especially. Could I suggest one thing though? There's an app called "ROM Toolbox Lite" that has the features of a few of the apps you included in the ROM such as "AdFree" "File Expert" "Link2SD" and "NoFrillsCPU" inside the one app. It's pretty useful and means I don't have to keep switching apps to do everything I need to do. There's nothing wrong with what's there it's just for simplicity's sake.. Still, this is the first ROM I've flashed and I love it. Thanks!
Also, I'm pretty new here. So how do I thank your last post? I can't find a button or anything?

Something similar happened on my tablet a while ago, it said it didn't recognise that is was there but if you go in to Settings>SD and Storage, it should show all the statistics etc.. and give the option to mount or unmount the card. If its unmounted then just mount it, problem fixed. If it is mounted (Mine was) then it's just the phone being awkward. The only difference it makes though is that you have to go into a file manager or link2sd to move anything to it. You can't move things from the built in file manager... If it's not like either of those then either the SD card is full or i'm outta ideas.. Sorry if this doesn't help...

i found mistake. all partitions of sd card must be primary.
*sigh* This is probably the best ROM out there that I can find, and I can't use it because my phone is CDMA, so everything but wifi and mobile works, and I really need those.
Please please please consider making a marvelc/cdma version of this ROM. I don't want to have to settle for an inferior ROM just because of this. Or if you know of an app I can install that will fix this issue, please let me know

Still problem with radio, after plug headphones, told me headphones not plugged etc... any idea ?
Sorry, but...
Is there any way for me (I have registered only for this purpose, otherwise I'm a pretty read only guy and mostly finding the answers otherwise) to post a question about the installation failure of this ROM?
I use 4EXT recovery, done a full wipe (have been using many versions on this and my previous devices so not a completely noob user I guess ), and installer appears to be finishing successfully - but then in the log there are two lines showing it wasn't successful after all:
"mount: failed to mount /dev/block/mmcblk0p26 at /data: Device or resource busy"
and
"error: file_write: write: I/O error
Installer Error (Status 1)"
Now what can the cause be?
Oh, I forgot: have checked the md5sum and was correct (I mean throughout recovery on the SD after the zip was copied to the SD...
Again: sorry but not allowed to post at the ROM's thread...

Theres a known bug in the aroma script. Youll have to select "perform a full wipe" in aroma and not tick the reboot checkbox that shows up when flashing is done. Then all should be fine
Script will be fixed in future releases. Sorry for the inconvenience

its real easy all you have to do is place the rom on your sdcard, coming from another rom I would do a full wipe you can use ARHD superwipe and then flash the rom in recovery.

I'm assuming you know how to get in recovery.
Full wipe:
Wipe data/factory reset.
Wipe dalvik
Format all partitions (except sd card).
If you want to go that extra mile, check the md5 checksum to see if it matches right after downloading, before wiping. Do the full wipe, then go wherever you downloaded the rom, flash it. First boot with all roms, is on averqge 5 minutes. If you reach 10 minutes, then something went wrong. Make sure you make a backup of your rom in case anything wrong happens.
Edit: with this rom and only this one - and only this version since it will probably get fixed in the next one, when you are in aroma installer, choose the full wipe. When it prompts you to reboot, say no, and reboot manually. Do not download from dev host. Use one of the mirrors.
Sent from a dream.
So basically when installing this ROM (as of now) to make sure it succeeds all should select to
- wipe throughout the Aroma installer
- select NO to reboot from within the Aroma installer.
Otherwise it doesn't really matter whether you use CWM or 4EXT or any other (Aroma-capable) recovery...
Another issue:
After half a day of awesomeness I ran into the "try to send an SMS and lose your data network" problem described earlier in the original topic the following way (originally Posted by yankee_pr):
"hello!
when sending or receiving mms my data disconnects and signal drops completely to nothing at all then back up to full bars until data connects then back to nothing and so on. this goes on for about a minute. I'm not able to send or receive. when receiving i just get a message trying to download the attachment."
After rebooting or erasing the root_of_cause MMS that I wanted to be sent I went to check APN settings, and figured it wasn't the correct one (for the internet not for the MMS!!!). I have changed it back to the good ones, rebooted and voila.
To be honest I have no clue if the settings were correct beforehand (since installation until it went wrong) so if anyone could check this the community would really appreciate I guess
So 2do:
1. check internet APN settings while it's workin'.
2. Try to send an MMS (like a picture to someone via messages)
3 Wonder why no mobile net connection is available
4. Check if the APN settings are the same or have changed throughout the process
Sorry again but I can post issues here only about this ROM :-o
Gallery and music issues
For those of you that encounter problems of having trouble finding your gallery and music, but yet those files are still in you SD card
Follow instructions below:
1. Plug your phone to your PC
2. Use the search function on your PC and search your SD card for ".nomedia"
3. Delete all
4. Reboot your phone
TADA!!!
A first post here, please be gentle with me, and huge thanks to everyone who has made posting here unnecessary until now.
After a long time using CynogenMod 7.1 on my Desire, when I came to switching SIMs on it, I decided to look for a new ROM too because I was having a problem with shortage of app space and I was missing a few features I have become used to on JellyBean.
A look at the options found the one in the title by WoH (development forum link). It separates out the ROM and the Google Apps. I can install the ROM, and I like it a lot. I can't get the Google Apps to install.
Tried: flashing the zip file at http://woh-roms.weebly.com/gapps.html via the recovery menu, and installing a2sd. It has the right MD5 and appears to go OK, but the apps don't appear when the phone is rebooted, or appear in the list of things moved by a2sd. I have made repeated attempts, both with wiping user data before and afterwards, and doing it before rebooting after installing the ROM and after an initial boot with it, all without success.
Tried: reading the instructions there. However I don't have adb installed and because I don't have Google Play, I can't install a file manager that unzips files (the one in the ROM doesn't appear to - no unzip option is given).
Tried: installing the ROM mentioned in the development subforum thread by timvdlinde which does have Google Play. That works, but I am not so keen on the ROM itself. This may be incredibly shallow, but I liked WoH's use of the Nexus boot animation, and the timvdlinde ROM has the Nova launcher which I am not interested in.
The phone: an unlocked, rooted, AMOLED GSM Desire. The recovery is the Clockworkmod ROM Manager one. I don't remember ever changing the hboot settings. There is a sizeable ext4 partition on the SD card and it is being used by a2sd.

Theres no need for a swap partition. If you are using PA it will just act as a waste of space, since the rom doesnt utilize it in any way.
Try doing a full wipe and reflash the rom. Then flash these gapps. I can guarantee those work, as i use the same rom with those gapps and everything is fine. After flashing run the a2sd script through terminal.

Repartition the SD card
Boot into recovery
Wipe data
Wipe cache
Install ROM.zip (using the one downloaded from the right place, no reported problems)
Install Gapps.zip (ditto)
Reboot
Notice that the Google apps aren't there
Do the su / mount / a2sd install anyway
Reboot (through saying yes to the third question)
Notice that the progress of the move to the ext4 partition says its moving 59 items, none of which are Google apps
Confirm that the Google apps still aren't there
I'm about to try again with another SD card on the basis of 'why not'

What about /sd-ext/gapps/system/app. Anything there?

Yep, they are there, with what I presume are the right permissions: as above, owned by root, rw-r-r.
Doing some more nosing around, and looking at the alternative installation instructions on woh-roms.weebly.com/gapps.html
$ adb shell ls /sd-ext/gapps/system
app etc framework lib usr

Yes, doing
ls /sd-ext/gapps/system
produces that.
# enable extgapps (quotes needed)
$ adb shell "echo x > /sd-ext/gapps/.extgapps"
# gapps dir should look like this (if .extgapps doesnt exist the init script wont run)
$ adb shell ls -a /sd-ext/gapps/
.extgapps system

Yes, doing
ls -a /sd-ext/gapps/
produces that.
.extgapps is a zero byte file, rather than one byte containing 'x' as there, but the root explorer instructions would produce a zero byte file, so presumably a) there's no touch command and b) it's the presence of the file that's important, not what it contains.
BUT...
... if I do
logcat -C
(after doing logcat -c, going oops, rebooting, and getting it right )
then the lines that are supposed to be there aren't.
I'll get the email working, email the output to myself and stick it in a pastebin or similar.
pastebin.com/Qtrps3A8 has the whole thing.
At the start, various links are possibly not set up:
I/run-parts( 75): ln: /system/etc/permissions/com.google.android.maps.xml: Out of memory
I/extgapps( 155): Created /system/etc/permissions/com.google.android.maps.xml

is just one example, then later

.. so what file is it looking for, and is this down to trying to do things with the card before it is ready?
What has changed:
The search 'app' has gone from the list - I can see from the logs that it is supposed to be replaced, but here it's just missing.
The browser is now very like Chrome... and I don't remember that being the case.
