I had the same problem, I had to take it back to AT&T and get a new one, luckily I was still covered under the warranty.
Also, I accidentally thanked you.

This sounds like a hardware issue. Best bet is to replace the front. I did it on mine and although it's time consuming, it isn't difficult. There are plenty of kits on ebay that include everything you need, and they're not too expensive. If you DO do it yourself, google tips and tricks to make sure that you feel confident. Good luck!

Hello All
I need some help here, I bought a used LG Optimus G E971 Carrier Rogers my phone is acting out for some reason, it opens apps and typing by it self, I open any app it tries to act on that, for example I open the phone dialer it tries to open contacts so worried, this is driven me bananas , the phone was not rooted when I bought it and I did a factory rest from phone settings before any thing, so the next step I did was root it, unlock boot-loader tried to install custom Rom no change its crazy, I am guessing its not a software problem and maybe a hardware problem but what part of the hardware? I cant return it because I bought as is and no warranty left and I have no receipt to return it for repair to LG, so the only two thing I can do is buy a new phone or try to fix it my self, so if it is a hardware problem I need help to figure out what I should start off buying first, I am really confused here I don't know what to do any help would be great full, thank you so much and Thank you for taking the time to read this and for any help you have given me:crying:
have you tried factory reset from the recovery process? i.e. while phone is off, trigger the factory rest
factory reset
Hello thanks for your idea, I tried while phone is off and no change, I tried a total wipe of Rom by means of reinstalling Rom, as well custom Rom no luck:crying: it must be a hardware problem, but what maybe a defected main board. its really to bad because other then that phone works great very phone. thank you

First of all have you tried a Hard Reset? Perhaps some LG driver or software failed to install on a reboot and may be corrupted. If it is corrupted a simple reboot will not work. You must Hard Reset.
If that does not work:
Is it still under Warranty? I would take it back if I was you. If not take it to a shop to fix. Sorry but it is so.
I say this because you are not even rooted so the chances of being a hardware issue are much higher if the Hard Reset did not work. Perhaps a wire/connector got loose?
Good luck.

A factory reset usually fixes those sorts of problems.

That's what I thought as well so I did a factory reset and a hard reset with the same outcome... Everything in the settings can be accessed except the (about phone) so I'm completely lost on what to do

I think it's best you send it back to where you got it then and let them have a look. Otherwise you could try flashing your original firmware again incase your current one has missing components.

Send it it back is definitely not going to happen cause I've tried that lol... But to flash the firmware wouldn't I need USB debugging checked? I hope not cause i can't get to it and is there any tutorials that could give me a step by step instructions?

This is the guide I use when flashing my stock ROM. Link
If you live outside the US then use the KDZ method.
Hello guys.
I have LG G3 5.0 V20-i-TWN-XX
I have a lot of problems with the phone.
I get every couple of minutes a message says: unfortunately the home has stopped and unfortunately ui system has stopped.
Also the battery drains very fast.
I understood that there are a lot of prbolems with the lolipop 5.0 so I want to downgrade to 4.4.2 which doesn't have all these prbolems.
Can someone please send me a guide for this?
I mentioned above the version of my phone.
Just to be clear I live in Israel if it has any mean for the guide you will give me.
Thanks in advance!
The problems you have are not normal. Maybe an application or settings issue.
Have you tried to a hard reset? (Back to factory settings)
Alternatively you can try a custom Rom. I'm on cloudy and it is rock solid. You need to root and install TWRP.

I have tried to do hard reset and it didn't help.
It will be great if you can post here a link how to do the things you have mentioned.
Thanks
Edit:
I found this one: http://forum.xda-developers.com/lg-g3/development/rom-cloudyg3-1-0-t2917467
But I don't know how to start after I downloaded the file in this thread.
Received today the official European Pie Update. And now it doesn't let me unlock the phone with finger prints or code. And can't shut it down, only restart. Help appreciated.
I do have the same problem - it's not possible to unlock the phone. I restarted the phone into "safe mode" (long-press power button on screen and select "safe mode") but the problem persists.
I can get phone calls and SMS and all, but i only get a black screen if i try to unlock. Only way to get into the GUI is by restarting the phone...
If someone knows what to do besides a factory reset, I would highly appreciate it!
Same in Sweden. DidnĀ“t do backup so hard reset is last thing i whant to try. I have a symbol on the screen i have never seen before, looks like a torx screw .Does anybodu know what that symbol is?
This is just awkward...
I couldn't wait any longer and had to reset my device and now it works again. I was able to login after each reboot so I could make a backup. But it's cumbersome anyway.
This is so bad from LG - after launching a "Software Upgrade Center" and waiting months to get android pie, this was the first time I had problems with an update... Never again LG...
Had to do a hard reset too. Then it worked
I have this problem, too
I'll wait a little bit, maybe we can find another solution, I don't want to wipe my phone, I was to lazy to createa backup
Might be related to the issue I'm having. Google Play Services have stopped working after a failed Play Store update this morning. Phone won't unlock properly with fingerprint, and is scrolling slowly. I'm in the US on Verizon. Updated on Friday and had been working fine until that corrupted update. G710vm20a

Someone please give advice, or help me fix it because i can't reset it... i have too much irreplaceable stuff on it.
Ok, I haven't had a problem, but I did a clean install of the leaked kdz from a few days ago. I had a fresh Google backup and sdcard, so I didn't loose anything.

Hello. Have you found a solution to the problem? If so, please share how you did it without wiping the phone.
