A factory reset usually fixes those sorts of problems.

That's what I thought as well so I did a factory reset and a hard reset with the same outcome... Everything in the settings can be accessed except the (about phone) so I'm completely lost on what to do

I think it's best you send it back to where you got it then and let them have a look. Otherwise you could try flashing your original firmware again incase your current one has missing components.

Send it it back is definitely not going to happen cause I've tried that lol... But to flash the firmware wouldn't I need USB debugging checked? I hope not cause i can't get to it and is there any tutorials that could give me a step by step instructions?

Same Issue here, someone said to go back to stock, and then reflash everything. Let me know if you found a better solution.

Finally got it to work by just doing a factory reset. I was stock none rooted. But trying to root at the time.

This happened to me after I switched Roms, but I just did a factory reset and re flashed the ROM and it seemed to do the trick.
Gremlins I guess, always best to do a data wipe and factory reset.

Yeah, but it is very important to have the ability to have your phone connect to your PC, this makes things much easier and quicker as well.
Also you can't access the internal memory of your phone, this solution just solves half of the battle.
So A new update for HTC sense came out this morning. And now my phone refuses to connect to wifi I already reset it through the soft ware then I did a Hard reset using the power button and still. Won't connect to a wifi help????
Also the device is now never able to mount and make the storage accessible

You are not even close to being bricked.
You'll have to give me more information if I'm going to be able to help you. I assume you're rooted. Are you running a custom ROM or stock? Custom recovery? Have you updated your firmware by flashing a file?
When did you first notice you didn't have wifi? Did you do any mods around that same time?
Don't worry dude, we'll get this fixed.

Yeah I don't know where these guys get their definition of "bricked" from. Phone still works but no wifi "BRICKED!!!". As far as I'm concerned a device is "bricked" if it's about as useful as a "brick" in other words, it ain't doing sh!t. You can only use it to keep the door from slamming shut, or as a paper weight.
Completely dead = Bricked
Can go into recovery/bootloader = Not even close to anything related to any "brick"

That is super weird dude. I would call your service provider or HTC. If you call them on a landline, they can probably push a fix directly to your phone. If you don't have a landline, they will guide you through the steps to fix it.
If it is having issues when it is unmodded and because of an OTA, you don't want our advice. You would have to modify your phone and void your warranty.
There may be/probably is a solution that someone here has that will fix it, but your best bet with 100% stock is to go to the source for a fix.
Good luck buddy!

I've seen a couple cases of OTA killing WiFi lately. Most of us are used to seeing broken WiFi as a result of flashing a custom ROM and outdated firmware, so yes its a bit odd to see it after an official OTA.
I agree, that aside from trying a factory reset, the OP shouldn't tinker with a phone that is stock and still on warranty. Just contact your warranty department for a repair/replacement.

"Reset" or even "hard reset" is a bit vague. Did you do a factory reset to delete user data, or just rebooted the phone? Factory reset will sometimes clear up random bugs after an OTA.
Sprint has basically said that they don't know what's wrong with it and I need to send it to them.

For a stock device (not modded) if you've tried a factory reset, and the issue persists, they I would agree that warranty service is the best solution.
Hello XDA, this is my first post, this comunity is awesome and helped me a lot for a couple of years now.
there always seems to be a solution to everything!
but now i realy ****ed up. i accidentaly checked the wrong thing on the so called "smart phone flash tool"

I'd better let someone more qualified answer your query but I'm pretty sure your situation can be recovered easily. What happens if you try to reflash the firmware again with the correct settings? These phones are pretty hard to brick!

there probably is SOME way to fix it, i am sure, but the phone does not even boot into recovery.
Mediatek phones are hard to brick, haha
It is PROBABLY going to give a headache in order to find the needed files, flash the stuff again and etc using the proper way, but PROBABLY your phone will relive again. Try rooting and installing Eragon after a full wipe, if that option is available.

Performing a full data format with a custom recovery multiple times will leave no personal information. Then you can go do your restore to stock ROM

Is this your first phone? First android phone? I mean a quick google search would of told you how to reset as well. Also factory reset is just that a factory reset that puts your phone back to factory specs like when you first got it. Also better information in your post would of been to let us know if you were rooted or not and not your bad phone purchasing choice.... j/k not really LOL
Hope you got it all sorted out if not let us know we will be more than happy to send you off the right way :good:

i would just recommend switching to GSI at this point if you really want the mobile data back. i dont think this is going to be fixed till the next firmware update. GSI fixes this. i am personally using crdroid 8.8 it works the smoothest out of all of them. the battery drain is an issue but i can live with it. i dont think samsung is going to push out a firmware update soon. i bet they dont even know this issue exists in the firmware. this is why i never wanted to go with a midranger from samsung. they dont care about us. well.

For the battery drain you can try reset battery info with ACC, stratophere x performance or root essentials (deprecate)

of course,
ACC u just have to select the number on the CLI, juste type acc on termux and select the option (if u have unzip error with the module, just unpack and repack)
Stratosphere : The module, just type su -c strpmenu in termux and choose the option for reset battery
Root essentials : The app, just install it and select the option
I think the best and easiest way is Stratosphere
(For all of this, you need to charge your phone at 100%)
