[Q] Root without pc - Samsung Galaxy Nexus

Can i root my Galaxy Nexus GSM without connecting it to a PC?
My micro-usb connection on the phone is broke ...
I'm using android 4.2.1, since I restored it I don't have mobile data connection, In the settings I see it receives HDSPA+ but it won't connect, never had this issue before restoring it. So now I wanna try a custom rom.

My USB is also broken and I want to Root!
I have the same problem with my phone: USB port is broken (will not connect to PC, only charges). And, I want to root my device, preferably with CyanogenMod. I've been all over the internet looking for a solution, but haven't quite came up with the answer that I need. Framaroot isn't compatible with Galaxy Nexus, apparently. Can someone help guide me through this? Thanks!

So I just wanted to post this because after about a year of having a "bad USB" port, I decided maybe I'd try to clean the port. I stuck a toothpick in there and cleaned out all of this pocket lint and other crap in there: low and behold, my device is now connecting!!!!!! After all of this time, I Just needed to clean the port!!!

[Q] HP windows 7 bluetooth peripheral driver???????

So I can connect bluetooth to my laptop to a degree, in fact it worked just fine at first, then it stopped working and there's a yellow triangle on my device under windows devices, and when I do trouble shoot it says basically bluetooth peripherals not installed. I've read about going into device manager and installed all the yellow triangle bluetooth peripherals but not all of them are compatible with my phone. And now the samsung bluetooth peripheral isn't even there! I tried looking in HP drivers for anything bluetooth and currently downloading and installing everything I can, but the fact it specifically said peripheral makes me think it's something else I need to download, I just have no clue! I'm really baffled here, so if anyone has had a similar problem and figured it out please offer me some assistance. Thank you in advance.

I attempted to send you a pm but it does not seem to work for me. I went to a site called blog dot joelvincent dot com. Try searching on there for "Solved bluetooth peripheral device driver." this works for windows vista and 7. I found if you follow the 7 steps it will work completely. just remember to download Windows Mobile Device Center. He uses the drivers for that program to fix the issues with the phone.
If need more help I'd be happy to type out the entire procedure. Let me know.
I followed the link and turns out micosofts page to download the windows 7 one is down.... only vista up... makes one go hmmmm but at least I know what to google for, thanks a lot. I'll report back if I finally get it to work

HTC Desire HD -

Hello Everyone
I'm here asking for advice.
I have searched all the forums for a similar problem to mine and not come across anything that either seemed to be the same issue or was something I understood to be.
I am no tech head by my own admission and do have to look up a lot of terms on here so please be patient with me!
I have a HTC Desire HD. I recently rooted the phone using the Advanced Ace Hack Kit downloaded form this forum which also turned the SD card into a gold card and installed clockwork mod.
I also installed the ROM "virtuous_quattro_alpha3_pyramid". This whole process worked fine and the phone rooted.
I then tried to install "update-LC-ICS-1.0.beta4-DesireHD-signed" as I was trying to get a version of the Ice Cream Sandwich ROM that was not then available for my phone from my operator Orange.
This is where things went wrong. The installation failed - I saved the zip to the SD card, accessed the bootloader menu and instructed the phone to flash the new ROM but midway through the phone froze.
Now I cannot even access the bootloader menu - if I press vol down and power all that happens is I get a white screen with HTC on it in green, this will stay indefinitely if plugged in to the charger or until the battery runs out of juice.
At a loss and not finding any advice that I understood to help I have tried running AAHK again but when I run it in the command window an error message is shown giving me 3 possible reasons- check the adb connectivity, the phone is not plugged in or the driver is not installed or USB debugging is not enabled.
As I cannot seem to access the phone I'm worried that I have bricked it so I'm turning to the wizards of technology on here for help!
Is there anything that I can do?
As I said please be gentle in your explanations otherwise I will be looking up every other word!
Many thanks,
Anychance you can flash a RUU for the stock rom and start over?

Apologies on the double post - I wasn't aware that I had done so. An accident on my behalf. Thank you for pointing out the error.
I would love to try your suggestion but as I explained in my initial post I am unfamiliar with a lot of the terminology used here, are you suggesting I reset the phone to the software installed by the service provider, in my case Orange?
If so I have tried a factory reset twice now and it failed on both attempts. The process seems to start but then stalls and nothing happens. If i remove the battery and switch the phone back on I seem to be back to where I started from.
Thank you for the advice however.
No Cap,
An RUU is a image. You can try and download the stock image for your provider i.e Orange. from http://www.filefactory.com/file/c0a...140f_26.05.05.27_M3_release_170856_signed.exe
There should be a few posts in the forum here providing links to Official RUU's which should include Orange RUU's.
Here is also a link to a HTC tech support page providing info on errors during RUU flashing.

If you have ever flashed an update to your pc/laptops BIOS. You would probable go to xyz.com and click on the latest bios update package.
once that was downloaded in exe format you would run that and it would take care of the rest.
This is pretty much the same it is the whole Flash update package.

Try this first,...
Try installing CWM Touch from
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1474490
You did mention AAHK and that was a success, seems like you should already be having S-Off so this should be possible.
Try running the ADB commands.

[Q] Odin help?

I'm on the latest Tmobile stock firmware, and I'm trying to root. However, when I install Odin and put the phone into Download Mode, it doesn't connect after plugging in the USB cable. The box ID:COM stays blank. If I connect the phone while it's on, it'll connect as a media device, just not in Download Mode. Any pointers? Thanks in advance.
EDIT: In case anyone else has this problem, I resolved it by plugging the USB cable directly into the computer. I had an extension cable since my computer was in a bad spot. Stupid me.
Make sure ur USB debugging mode is turned on (under phone settings, developer options), if that doesnt do it...
Make sure kies is disabled (uninstall if need be - I technically never did but others reported it as a solution, so I might as well) , if that dont work...
Install Mskips latest toolkit and redownload his drivers (option 1 I believe)... you can still root whatever way you want but I havent heard anyone have issues connecting to Odin with his drivers

Also, might as well throw in, since your not rooted, now might be a good time to backup your phones modem/radio/NV/imei files as those things can mess up (as a few have reported, very few I should say) during the root process... very few but better safe than sorry

Thanks for the response. USB debugging was on, Kies wasn't even installed. I'll try Mskip's tookbox and see. As for making a backup, what program do you suggest? Does the toolbox do it?

[Q] USB doesn't function; want to flash bootloader from TWRP

Hello there,
I have an issue with my nexus 7 (deb) whereby the USB port is able to charge, however it is unrecognizable in every computer I put it into (Windows 8, 8.1, 7, XP and even Ubuntu). I have even tried multiple micro-usb cords (about 4 different ones) with each OS.
I have come to terms with it not having any usb support, however... I am stuck in limbo on a half-working lollipop build with a 4.02 bootloader and Gapps not 'sticking' on reboot.
I was wondering if anyone knew of a solution of flashing a bootloader from recovery, as ADB or fastboot will not work.
Any help is much appreciated!
Thanks!
I will keep coming back and scowering the threads, and will post a solution; I hope to find something here...

Looking for lgl15g (LG Sunrise) stock image

I'm looking for the stock image for the LG Sunrise (lgl15g). For some reason I can't find my backup image of stock 4.4.2. I've rooted with Kingroot and somewhere along the way something went horribly wrong. I'm unable to pair w/ bluetooth, can't recieve or make calls, and my home button isn't working correctly. If anyone has the stock image for this phone it would be a big help and much appreciated.
also.. could anyone direct me to an updated tool that can unlock my LG Sunrise without using a computer? Straight Talk has totally burned me on data its rediculas =/
+1
I'm looking for this too....
Thanks
Have you guys found one yet?
Have y'all heard anything about a special cable with a resistor between two terminals forcing low-end LG devices into bootloader/download mode? The only soldering iron I have access to is for leading stained glass, so I'm afraid its tip would be too broad; I'll have to buy a cable somewhere to test this theory.

It happened to me by accident with a LGV410 tablet and some conductive trash inside the cable end. However the LGL15G may be like the LGL34C, being as they're both Tracfone devices, with a locked/near-nonexistant bootloader. Tracfone cheapies are a pain to work with, and with no(?) KDZ files publicly available, impossible to toy with if USB debugging was never enabled.
No luck on the bootloader yet but...
1) Kingroot 4.8 can root it
2) Supersu-Me can remove Kingroot and install SuperSU
3) From there a bloatware removal tool can strip out the office suite and McAfee security software to reclaim internal storage.
I'm hoping to prune enough to make space to switch from Dalvik to ART.
Lgl15g issues ( no calls recieved. Etc)

I made a few changes to the build prop. And the system apps. But i wasnt aware of any major changes that i made. But the same thing has happened to me for the most part.
If anyone has a copy of a stock or working build prop. And or a copy of the stock image once someone comes out with a working recovery. Plrase post it.
Code:
LGL15G + Kingroot < LGL15G
I am experiencing the same. Although I do not have the stock image (I think), I did save a couple of backups prior to mine going rogue. If a copy of that would help, let me know.
My main problem now is that I cannot get it to connect to my PC to retreive back up or tranfer files to do a factory reset

Oh.. I just remembered that I do have the stock kitkat file (about 2g) on my PC but since I cannot get my LGL15G to connect, I cannot use pda.net to gain internet access from PC. If anyone has a solution to this, I can probably post the stock kitkat file.
~ Cheryl
If Kitkat is Kitkat...
I have kitkat 4.4.2 on my G2 (down with a broken touch screen) and apparently the Sunrise is running the same.. or so it says in "About Phone."
This is the link I used to originally download the stock kot file. Hope it helps... if not, I do have the file on my PC which I continually struggle to get internet on.. but if you have any idea on how I can share given the circumstances... let me know

I do not have a stock image but have made images of each partition on the device (except userdata - not gonna give you all the keys to my various accounts). The images were made using dd in a terminal emulator on a rooted L15G and can be "flashed" using dd in a terminal emulator on a rooted L15G. Please reply if you want me to post them.
