Hi,
I am trying to flash stock ROM on GT-n5100 with no success. I will first recap what I did:
1. Tried to flash N5100XXBMD1 EUR version from samsung-updates with odin and it failed with invalid volume size
2. Recovery was not working, I flashed CWM and recovery mode was still not working, only the gt-n5100 logo.
3. Flashed stock recovery, and recovery mode still not accesible, stuck in the same logo.
4. After flashing recovery, device booted in normal android. Tried to root using galaxy note 8.0 toolkit 1.1 and insecure boot method and now the device doesn't boot at all, it gets stuck in gt-n5100 logo.
5. I can enter download mode, but every stock firmware I try to flash fails with invalid volume size message on the tablet.
So, I think I may have a problem with the partitioning. I may have got broken somehow. Does someone have the pit file for N5100XXBMD1 ? or a 3 part stock firmware I can try to flash?
The pit file can be extracted from a working n5100 using Heimdall Suite in download mode. Maybe I can use a .pit file from another n5100 running N5100XXBMD1 ?
Also can you please tell if I'm doing something wrong? I double and triple checked all options in Odin.
Thank you.

I tried to recover from Kies but the device is in download mode and it doesn't appear in kies emergency recovery. I will try from another PC/USB port tomorrow and post the result.

Tried from a different PC and same problem from Odin "Invalid volume size".I can't seem to find the serial number on the device to use Kies Firmware Initialization, but as I recall, yesterday when Android booted, Kies said that initialization is not supported for this device.
Anyway, can anyone extract the pitfile from their n5100? Or give me a serial number that works in Kies?
Thank you.

I checked from Kies with the serial number that I got from the box and it says "GT-N5100 does not support initializing".
Can someone with a N5100 extract the .pit file from it's tablet? It would be very helpful. I can guide you through the process using Heimdall 1.3.1. It is done in download mode.
Also if anyone has another idea on how to revive this tablet I would really appreciate it.

For anyone that can help me with this .pit file, It will not harm your tablet in any way. The procedure does not write anything to your tablet, You just nee to install Heimdall Suite on your pc, put the tablet in download mode, connect it and the app has a buton that says Download .pit file.

I guess no one has a couple of minutes to extract a .pit file from it's N5100
Ok then. I'll look into the option of sending the tablet to Samsung. Too bad I can't get help here, but at least I tried.

i am uploading pit file and partition output from heimdall, its from version 4.2.2
hi
this img how it works?
Hi everybody,
This is Steven from Hong Kong, I am looking for a PIT file for Tab3 10 16GB.....
Since i used a China made 1-click root tools, my tab became brick .....
I tried to use odin to flash stock rom, but it show me a error message talking about partition problem
Then i tried flash bindroid recovery, and found out that cannot mount sd card,
So I am looking for as PIT file to solve my problem.....
Have you tried to do a full firmware recovery in Kies?
Also the PIT file I think is needed is: GT-P5210_EUR_XX_20130523.pit & unfortunately the only place I've seen it is behind a pay wall.

Try using Heimdall. Use this pit file ( http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=53455783) with the 4.0.4 stock ROM from samfirmware.com and flash it using Heimdall with repartition checked. This is what worked for me when nothing else did. I was using Linux, but there is Heimdall for windows. Make sure you install Heimdall and Heimdall frontend as the frontend makes it a lot easier. Run the frontend for the above steps.

I don't have a link for the drivers (I use Linux, so there is no need for drivers,) but a Google search should lead you in the correct direction. Also, make sure you run Heimdall as admin, or the device might not be recognized. To get the individual files, decompress the tar.md5 or .tar file.
You do not want to use "Load Package." Go to the flash tab. First try it without repartition checked. Use 4.0.4 from samfirmware.com with this pit file. I have an image below explaining everything hopefully.
I just saw the Windows 8.1 part. Windows 8 can sometimes cause problems with Odin, but it is worth trying Heimdall. If you have a Linux machine and Windows doesn't work, I would try that.

What bootloader is on your phone? If you don't know, boot into download mode and look for a reference to warranty bit. If you see something about warranty bit, that means you have at least a 4.3 bootloader and you can't flash a stock ROM unless the ROM was compiled for flashing in Odin.
If you have at least the 4.3 bootloader, I suggest flashing Philz Touch custom recovery via Odin. Copy a CM10.2 or early CM11 ROM onto an external SD card, boot into recovery, and flash the ROM. This will at least get you phone running to determine exactly which bootloader and baseband are on your phone.
I'm not sure what bootloader I was on, I think it was mjb software . I assume I was on the latest and I tried to flash a previous version and now my phone is hard bricked. I bought a jig on eBay and it should come early this week. I guess what my next question is, is if I can get into download mode using the jig, what software would I need to flash using Odin 3.09.
Sorry I'm kinda new to Odin and the gs3 flashinng so I'm not familiar with it (I also have a nexus 5 so I'm used to using fastboot). Could someone post what files I need to get my gs3 back in order assuming I can get into download mode?
Thank you for all of your help, it sucks having a bricked phone and not really knowing how to fix it.
Does your phone turn on at all? If not, a jig probably won't help.
It does but doesnt turn on. When i hold the power button nothing happens and it does not vibrate. But when i plug it into the computer the usb sound goes off and the red led comes on (Charging phone LED). Do you think a jig will help?
When you connect the phone, what does it say in device manager? Of it says something like qusb load, it may be hard bricked.

When i plug it into the computer it shows up as "Qualcomm HS-USB QDLoader 9008 (COM7)"
Does that mean im screwed? Is there anything I can do?
Since the phone will not go into download or recovery, you may have to have it jtagged. Before doing that, did you try to de-brick it?
This may help too: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2549068

Thanks 01manu, but when I search for that, there's a lot of results. Which one is it? (4shared{dot}com /web/q/#query=PIT_16GB_I747UCUFNE4_ATT_Android_4_4_2)
Here, try this.

That should be the PIT file you need.
Hi, I installed Lineage OS 14.1 on my Galaxy S4 SGH-M919. Everything was working fine, until the phone freezes (after I installed WhatsApp and used it for a bit, I am not sure if this is relevant, but it doesn't hurt to share)
They tried rebooting and it never booted.
So I booted into CWM and reinstalled Lineage OS + GAPPS. Everything works fine except that the SIM is not being recognized.
I then decided to use Odin to flash the original firmware as I did before many times (assuming there is an issue with the modem or something), but this time Odin is complaining about the PIT file.
I tried with a new cable, etc. I can't make Odin flash the original firmware.
Is there any way I could either make the phone recognize the SIM or at least install the stock firmware so then I can reinstall Lineage?
Thanks in advance,
anyone? Thanks
Looks like you have a T-Mobile s4 whose forum is here: https://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s4-tmobile
I just found out something strange, which might help solve the problem. When I restart the phone and install Lineage OS via CWM and go to About Phone it says that my phone is a GT-I9005. I am obviously sure it is not, but now I am thinking, is it possible that when I reinstalled the stock ROM from the SGH-M919 or when installing the different Lineage OS versions something changed?
Should I try to install the stock GT-I9005 version and see if Odin accepts it?
Any advice will be appreciated,
Thanks
EDIT: Also that might be the reason why Odin is not finding the PIT partition? Maybe it is looking for the GT-I9005 partition? So strange.
Unfortunately, I tried downloading the stock ROM for the GT-I9505 and Odin is giving me the same error.
I am not sure why it is not even accepting the PIT file for the SGH-M919. The only thing left is to try the PIT file for the GT-I9505
If anyone has any tips....
Thanks!
You can confirm the model # in download mode.
Thanks, yes, in Download Mode it still says SGH-M919... not sure why Odin is not letting me flash the stock ROM nor the PIT file. The phone is working perfectly...except from the sim and I can't find a way to flash the modem from the stock ROM I have without using Odin or Heimdall. Both are complaining about the PIT partition.
Any tips will be appreciated!
Thanks
