I'm pretty brand new to android porting but let me try my best to explain
We try only to use oem files for purposes of which they can't not be recreated because it's harder to try to make a proprietary file's hidden code work than modify a template file
Plus from what I have seen, there's not a lot of LG dev support for this phone yet(I cant even find the kernel source for it)
On top of that, most of the problems s listed are difficulties lie in the HAL(hardware abstraction layer)
The HAL helps hardware of the phone communicate with both the framework and the kernel
The HAL's for each component and associated file are not required by Google to be released with a phone, only it's kernel source so we don't have access to the sources for the HAL
That's just a few reasons I have found from my experiences with HTC phones I could be wrong on this but I'm pretty sure most of it is right though
Has anyone flashed this yet? Would like tknoif it has theme chooser
No I have not

PAC-man grabs rom control, ribbons, and many other aspects of AOKP
ParanoidAndroid
one of the most original aspects brought into this roms is
hybrid mode which gives you full control of your rom experience
About these builds:
I am using device tree and kernel from Omnirom repositories, which are created by @Scanno. Without his work I couldn't have ported PAC for our dear me301t. I have done some slight modifications to the device tree to make PAC compile, but the kernel is directly from Omnirom. I used to build these primary for myself, but I figured out maybe someone else wants to use PAC-rom too. Update frequency will be pretty random, as I build these when there are big changes, or when I feel like it. I am also posting this here because the compatibility pack by Hardslog (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2562620) does not support PAC-rom. Almost all other roms with it, so I suggest you to check it out. @Scanno, if you are not OK with me using your work, can you please contact me so I can take this down? I couldn't find the license for your your work, so I assumed it was okay.
Requirements:
-Unlocked bootloader
-TWRP (Check Omnirom for me301t to get a link)
-Bootloader from official 4.2
How to flash:
1. Download PAC-rom and GAPPS
2. Reboot to recovery
3. Do a factory reset (Wipe data/caches)
4. Flash PAC-rom and then GAPPS
5. Reboot to PAC-rom
Bugs:
I haven't encountered any bugs yet

As I said, I used device trees from Omnirom which I modified to work with PAC-rom.
My modified device tree: https://github.com/jesse131/android_device_asus_me301t
Original device tree by Scanno: https://github.com/omnirom/android_device_asus_me301t
Kernel is also from Omnirom: https://github.com/omnirom/android_kernel_asus_me301t
I also have the vendor files and a forked copy of the kernel on my github if you want to try building this yourself.

Nice work.
One suggestion I have is to put your downloads in the download section of the DevDB. That way you don't have to eat up your Google Drive space. Let XDA deal with the bandwidth and storage

Just tried this ROM. Everything seemed to be working just fine on the first boot after flashing. Upon reboot I got a boot loop. I was using the stock kernel with PA GApps. Any ideas?

I can't get my ME301T to properly connect to Windows to capture an ADB Logcat right now. Pretty sure it's a driver problem since I can get logs from my TF300T and my Samsung Exhilarate with no issue. I'll post as soon as I can get everything working again.
Curious?
So are we, because we have a vision ahead for the Vision in our palms... and that vision is called "L". The Vision L...
Still curious?
Help us make that vision true and let us all see the Android L on our HTC Vision smarties
Current Status: We are trying hard to bring Vision L to life, but we are still facing some wierd errors when installing. I am trying to hunt them down as we speak. Hopefuly you'll not have to wait for too much longer for a successful build.

Not using DZ as main device but looking forward to this.
It's really nice to see developers working on Desire Z to get this decent piece of hardware an up-to-date Android. Looking forward to testing it.
Very interesting in reborn my desire z. It's a great machine
this is great hardware, a great phone.
How are you coping with the small size of the internal flash? Does the typical L build even fit?
Have you been able to find all the device drivers for the hardware?
will you try to use the apps-to-sd framework?
curious what errors are appearing at install time

Heya. Have a Sprint GS3 as a test phone/for fun device that I fixed. Is your TWRP needed for this rom to function correctly?

Don't think so. His twrp has a different fstab so it works on vm and boost. So if you have a twrp version that works for your phone (2.8.7.0 at least), you should be fine.
Oh it just occurred to me that vm and boost are referring to carriers. *facepalm*

Its better than i though it would be on performance. Basically no hardware functions like camera or microphone work. Wifi, however, does work. Fun to play with new features, like google now. ON TAP. Most software functions seem fine (like system ui customizations). Thats about it though.

No offense but you're the 3rd one to release a rom that has the exact same source as the original CM13 thread, and all others have been shutted down. You should invest your time helping the main branch fixing their stuff instead of dividing everybody. Releasing a ROM that is exactly the same with a different name is a total lack of respect to those who really worked hard to make this happen, plus your sources are not even public :/

I'm pretty sure it's an XDA rule to publish the source of every rom/kernel. Otherwise it could contain malware/keylogger or could be fake. I took a look at SLIM's github and i didn't see anything related to the S6.
Dude you dont get it. According to XDA you should publish a source for the kernel and I did. Go ahead with the link I posted and it will direct you to the kernel source. It is not necessary that the kernel should belong to Slim.
I see no official source on your GitHub. Is this just a rebrand of CM 13 for S6?
Nevermind keep it coming

The device tree is mixed with the onyx (Oneplus X) device tree for the CAF iteration. It seems pretty stable right now but in the post on my kernel thread it had major problems like crap performance, bluetooth, thermal control and camera not working. I fixed 'em all in these days of testing and it really feels great on daily usage.
Thank you.F320 .
Thanks Galatic!
Hi. I am not understand what I need to do?
I have LP Cloudy G3 firmware. TWP recovery.
Please tell me, what I need to do.
I've been waiting for this quite some time - thank you!
Did a quick install (clean wipe, ofc) with stock openGapps.
Results so far:
- Theme engine gives random force closes while/after the setup wizard
- Camera FC (might be faulty gapps, will check md5 and reflash)

I used opengapps, see http://opengapps.org/ (ARM, 6.0, Stock)
It looks like the included camera cannot be replaced by gapps for some reason and i still have this ROM's camera v2.0.002 "eng.galactic.SOMENUMBER". It always crashes when i try to open it.
EDIT: i'm blind, looked for "Camera", and found yours - Google Camera is "Kamera" for me.

The Paranoid concept is made to be minimal, so either use a minimal Gapps or don't use Gapps. The OpenGapps is not behaving well lately, flash Banks Gapps instead. The camera app is the CAF camera app, Snap is based on it by the way. Maybe the artwork team can get us some nice touches to the camera app.
The built-in browser app is CAF's browser based on Chromium and may FC on some languages.
//Edit: got it, wil use banks, if i have any other gapps problems
I found a major problem which is kind of hard to track down for me.
My device is connected but most of the apps think it is offline (Reddit Sync, Chrome, Google+, Messenger). If i search something in google now, it works and shows some search results. When i want to open a result i get a "your device is offline" message in chrome.
Tested with 2 different WIFI and mobile conenction
Can anybody verify this?
//Eddit 2: odd... now it seems to work. Will keep an eye on it. Thanks for this rom! :good:
