I'm visiting Korea and one of my relatives works for LG so she can get g3 for about $200. Since I have unlimited data I will need to pay full price in order to upgrade in order to keep the plan. I was wondering if anyone has any idea whether Korean g3 will work for Verizon.

Hello, I want to buy an SGS3 from Tmobile, but I dont want to buy it with 2 years contract. Can I pay the full price and use it in Prepaid?. I'm a foreign student in US and I want it usable in my country, so, it's difficult to get the unlock code from Tmobile?
Thanks in advance
Yes you can buy it and use it for pre pay. They have a 60 dollar a month plan that would work pretty good for it. Unlimited everything. 4G data speeds up to 2 GB. 70 dollars a month for up to 5 GB. I'm not sure about unlocking it. Someone will probably answer that soon.

just need to retain your receipt and call customer care. they will let you know what else you need to unlock your GS3. other than that, you should be golden.
You can use it for T-Mobile right now, and a few weeks before you return, if there hasn't been any progress in unlocking it with an app or something, and T-Mobile doesn't want to give you the code, you can purchase one from eBay or other sellers.
So, you'll be fine regardless.
Yes you can. I bought my white S3 of T-Mobile because in the long run it'll be cheaper.
Here's a rundown of their prepaid plans
$30- 100 minutes, unlimited text & unlimited data with 5GB of 4G data
$50 Unlimited Talk, Text, & Data with 100MB of data
$60 same as $50 plan but with 2GB of 4G data
$70 same but with 5GB of 4G data
Get one on craigslist for $400 and buy unlock code on ebay $8.
First what's the main purpose of the phone? To use T-Mobile or use your countries' carrier? Both?
There are many better alternative to T-Mobile if you're doing prepaid. Unless you don't need a lot of minutes then that $30 plan is a steal

Well the main purpose is to use T-Mobile and use in my country's carrier. Currently I have a Nexus S (i9020A with AT&T 3G bands, so my phone is running on EDGE) but I want to upgrade my phone so, do you recommend me the SGS3 from T-Mobile?. I am OK with T-Mobile service and the plan's price is right for me (I have the 50$ prepaid plan).

Hi,
I recently posted about having this phone on the TMO US network. Which it does not seem to be coming to. I tried to buy the N4 this morning to now avail due to Google servers screwing me...
N E who.... my new idea is to buy the ATT phone from someone, I've seen prices about 400-450. And just have my tmo HTC sensation do WiFi hotspot and use the LGOG on the hotspot... pretty crazy I know
Or... pay my ETF of $200 and get the phone either sprint or Attached for new contract $200. Which would be about 400 and I wouldn't have to use 2 phones to function...
Have I answered my own question here hhaha.
Let me know what you think as far as sprint or attached. Im east bay area CA if people have service issues on wither carrier please let me know

Not sure how it works in the USA.
But cant you just register the AT&T phone in T-mobiles network?
For example my one is the Korea Telecoms one, it costs 900$ if you just buy it or 600$ with 2 year contract.
I choosed the 2 year contract, but i will terminate it next month - the KT will charge me only for 600$.
So the phone will be mine for 690$ (600$ for the phone and 90$ i payed last month) instead of 900$.
Next, im planning to connect it as 3G only phone in the SKT network, cause its fast, cheap and 3G doesnt drain the battery much like the LTE do.
Why don't you just buy an AT&T branded Optimus G and get it unlocked for $12.95. Then you can use it on the T-Mobile network and get 3G+ speeds depending on where you are at.

I went to a corperate Sprint store today to upgrade to the Optimus G but the sales person told me that the Optimus G cannot be used with SERO Premium.
Did anyone else on here with SERO Premium upgraded their phone to Optimus G in store? What about through Sprint's website?

I previously had the LG Optimus S (3G Phone on SERO Premium). I then went to the sprint website to pre-order the phone 3 days before the phone was released. I ordered the phone thorugh sprint.com and it did not change plan (SERO premium). The only thing that was added was the $10 premium data which is required for a 4GLTE phone (there is no way to get around the premium data, I tried multiple times calling.)
Overall, I have the LG Optimus G phone on a SERO Premium (w/ $10 add on premium data). So what the sales person told you was wrong.

So $50 before tax/fees right? Looks like I can only order online then, was hoping to play around with the phone over the weekend...
Yes, that's correct.
I too was able to retain my SERO Premium 500 plan. I usually avoid doing it in store because half the time they look at you like a deer in headlights when you say 'SERO'. I first started with online chat which then referred me to their business activation line (or whatever its called) and the guy on the phone helped me out.
Not only that, but when I tried completing the order over the phone, there was a problem with my credit card. He teleconferenced with my bank and it turned out they blocked my account because of 'suspicious activity' and that they would send me a new card. Unfortunately, that meant I would have to wait. So the Sprint rep gave me his email and said to email him when I was ready. Sure enough, maybe an hour after I emailed him to let him know I had a new card he called me back to complete the order. Probably the best customer service experience I've ever had.
As always - YMMV. Sometimes the trick is to just hang up and try again when its clear the rep can't/won't help you (as I have done in the past...just don't start yelling at them!)
SERO plans can be kept on upgrades. Just the additional $10 for premium data.

but has anyone gotten the upgrade in store with their SERO P account?

I've upgraded people to these with sero plans. Did a galaxy note 2 today as well.

Went to 3 corporate stores around here and none of them are willing to activate it for me. Ended up having to order it through live chat...
I did an in-store upgrade monday from GS2 to this phone, on sero-p. It was painless & pretty quick, which is a bit abnormal.
I'm sorry if this was posted elsewhere, I searched but couldn't find this question answered.
Last week I sent my girlfriend into a T-Mobile store here in RI to check out the Note 2. I was at work so I wanted her impression. She fell in love with it and now wants one. She's not a phone geek and always said she would prefer a flip phone if she could text on it,so I didn't think she would think too highly of it. I really wanted her input on how big it was
I figured I'd buy it for her for Christmas. T-Mobile store wants over $700 and the best International Note 2 price I've seen is $600 on special at Newegg.
I'd prefer the T-Mobile version for the future LTE but the extra $150 is a lot.
Any ideas on how to buy a T-Mobile version without paying over $700?
Also, are the benefits of the T-Mobile version worth the added cost?
Depending on where you live tmobile more then likely tmobile has not finished refarming 1900mhz in your area in that case the International note will only be able to get on edge before tmobile finishes their modernization. This is of course assuming you want to use it for on tmobile or an mvno.

T-Mobile note 2 have the correct frequencies to operate in Tmobile's hspa+. International note 2 you will most likely be stuck with 2g speeds.
If you plan to use Tmobile's data plan buy the Tmobile version.

We have the T-Mobile data plan.
I was hoping to spend $600 or so, that's not remotely possible paying retail.
I've seen some international note 2 for around $550 on eBay storefront for dailysteals.com.
However saving $150 would be pointless for me as I value data speed the most. I use upwards of 50 gbs monthly.
If you don't care as much about data speeds and streaming the savings may be worthwhile to you.

There are close to zero threads about this subject but how do I go about rooting and flashing a new ROM to my phone? If you guys need more information or proof that it's indeed a Boost Mobile phone please don't hesitate
Here is the software information on my phone:
Android Ver: 4.4.2
Baseband is M8974A
Kernel is 3.4.0
Build is KOT49I. LS980ZVE
Software Ver: LS980ZVE
There are ZERO differences between the Boost and Sprint version.
Boost LG G2 LS980
The Boost LG G2 is the Sprint version repackaged as Boost. When you activate your phone, Boost updates the APN settings and installs its own bloatware to make it an official Boost phone. As far as rooting and flashing a different recovery, just search the multiple threads regarding this, they work.
I'm currently use CM12 latest nightly, it's the only rom/mod I have tried so far (works great.) The issue I ran into was getting the APN settings properly configured. I flashed an APN fix (developed by MopedRyder, junkie2100, etc.) for another phone and since been able to have a fully functioning phone using CM12 for boost. Supposedly it works for AOSP as well.
I'm not sure if this is a problem with other roms when flashed onto a boost lg g2, I can only assume it is.
There is a boost lg g2 thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/sprint-g2/help/boost-mobile-g2-t2989880
Hope that helps, good luck.
Best buy has that $150 sale going right now for sprint but my local BB doesn't have them in stock so I'm going to pay $180 with a case no charger for the phone... Sad day indeed

Considering the phone with boost in the average boost store is around 270+, that's still a pretty good deal for such a nice phone (i love the specs) this is the best phone I have ever owned. Plus having CM12 on there without all the google junk makes it just so damn smooth
I ended up on craigslist buying a Sprint LG G2 phone from a girl for $100. I haven't gotten around to taking it to an actual boost store yet. But, that BB deal is still on. I'm just curious how you guys are able to walk into BB and buy the phone without having to sign a contract when clearly the ad says in contract. I'm asking because BB is having a LG G4 sale for $100 and I'd like to get one of those for myself.

If the ad said $100 on-contract for a G2 and people have said they have bought it without a contract then it is an employee error or a misprint (I haven't seen that ad but a misprint seems unlikely).
I HIGHLY doubt you could walk out of Best Buy with a G4 *bought* for $100. You're probably looking at a discounted contract price or reduced installment-plan down payment.
I understand that, I even pointed it out on this board. But, loads of people said they went and purchased a G2 for $150 without a contract now I'm curious to see if I can do the same thing with Verizon.
