Hi,
I recently posted about having this phone on the TMO US network. Which it does not seem to be coming to. I tried to buy the N4 this morning to now avail due to Google servers screwing me...
N E who.... my new idea is to buy the ATT phone from someone, I've seen prices about 400-450. And just have my tmo HTC sensation do WiFi hotspot and use the LGOG on the hotspot... pretty crazy I know
Or... pay my ETF of $200 and get the phone either sprint or Attached for new contract $200. Which would be about 400 and I wouldn't have to use 2 phones to function...
Have I answered my own question here hhaha.
Let me know what you think as far as sprint or attached. Im east bay area CA if people have service issues on wither carrier please let me know

Not sure how it works in the USA.
But cant you just register the AT&T phone in T-mobiles network?
For example my one is the Korea Telecoms one, it costs 900$ if you just buy it or 600$ with 2 year contract.
I choosed the 2 year contract, but i will terminate it next month - the KT will charge me only for 600$.
So the phone will be mine for 690$ (600$ for the phone and 90$ i payed last month) instead of 900$.
Next, im planning to connect it as 3G only phone in the SKT network, cause its fast, cheap and 3G doesnt drain the battery much like the LTE do.
Why don't you just buy an AT&T branded Optimus G and get it unlocked for $12.95. Then you can use it on the T-Mobile network and get 3G+ speeds depending on where you are at.

so im confused and dont know what to do. Im currently with at&t but my contract is up and im due for upgrade.I want the fortress/touch pro 2. should i wait for at&t to release it or go and sign up with tmobile and get it today. i Like the tmo version's keyboard better but i like the sliver finish of the at&t more the the bronzeish color of the tmobile....HELP lol i mean other than the keyboard and color are there any other difference between the two......
Thanks
Well Tmobile is cheaper and faster 3G, depends on your area how well your reception might be. Around where I live ATT has a much better reception than Tmobile. I think it comes down to that, you get what you pay for. The phones are going to do the same thing..I got my touchpro 2 for tmobile for 229.99 upgrading through wirefly, they'll sell it to you for 199.99 if you are a new customer and get the data plan which you need either way.
like lmen said. The phone is going to be capable of the exact same things, except for using different 3G bands (and the slight slim chance the AT&T version will have a 3.5mm jack).
The best way to decide is to see who has the best coverage in the areas you will need it and compare the plans that that suit you. Sometimes the plans can vary greatly. Did you see the article where US, Canada and I think Australia are the most expensive countries for cell phone usage?
yea tmobile is alot cheaper....for me right now i pay about 110 a month i have 900 mins with rollover and pda+ messaging but with tmobile i can drop the price to 84 with the my fave 600mins i dunno i have to see how reception is because i dont have any call problems now im using the tilt....all of this is coming cause i want the tp2 so bad lol
I've had great luck with Tmo's 3G and my TP2/G1
One of the biggest mistake is to never leave your carrier because of one phone! But since your contract is up then I guess it's ok!!!
Sorry, I always find it preposterous how much people pay for cell phones in the US and Canada. I pay between 8 and 13 dollars US a month (no data included though, but then again, I have wifi at home at the university and some hotspots around the city thanks to my home ISP).
the carriers really need to stop gouging customers.
When I bought my iphones and t-mbole nexus s, I reasoned buying at full price would save me money in the long-run. Then t-moble blocked the nexus s from using my old 5.99 Tzones plan and I had to call numerous times to get the 20 dollar android data plan.
Now I want to buy the Galaxy Nexus Sprint phone for my girlfriend. She has a very old plan with cheap unlimited internet. I don't know the name of her plan (yet).
Will buying a full price phone have any benefit? unlike SIM card phones, I think you have to call to activate Sprint (cmda?) phones. Therefore, I am assuming they will make you pay for a 4g plan... even though it doesn't exist in Los Angels, yet... right?
Do you have to suck it up and take their discounted phone and 2 year contract? I hate contracts...
Thanks,
i would call and ask sprint.
Hard to say. Buying cdma phones full price is bad deal. They don't have as good resale value compared to unlocked GSM versions.
bow chicka wow wow.
Buying a CDMA device full price gives you no benefit whatsoever. Sprint doesn't give you any deal on service, and the resale value of locked CDMA devices is really low.
The only reason to buy full price is if there is no way to upgrade or re-sign a contract.
If she has an old "sero" plan, you can still upgrade and keep the plan. You WILL pay for a 4G data plan, but that's been true for the last 2 years of WiMax too. You should go talk to the Sprint people in the threads about the device. Plenty of people in there are upgrading on the old plan.
How do I find sprint people who upgraded?

You will probably have to call numerous times to get that phone activated on an old sero plan out wait till the phone had been out for awhile until they allow you too put it on your plan
Or buy the unlocked gsm one off Amazon and just go pre paid
That's what I'm doing Wednesday it will be here with my Sim card kit. Can't wait t mobile I'd pretty good around here so I'm set can't wait
Now just to force roam Pandora to end my contract

You will love T-Mobile, they are so much faster than Sprint I feel robbed to have been shelling out $70+ for 2000 DSL-like 3G speeds

I'm actually getting giddy, IM figuring the best way out of my contract, I'd to torrent Ubuntu all day everyday till they drop me, and possibly use a Verizon prl to speed up the process

So I know this probably isn't going to be one of the best questions, but do guys think I should stick around with Verizon and get the Dinc 4glte, or should I move to Sprint and get new Evo? I really wanna know what you fine gentlemen ( and gentle women) think.

i think... GSM
I would stick with verizon. Sprint has horible reception at least where i live and their customer service is even worse. Also the evo 4g was a crappy phone, my wife had one and it was nothing but issue after issue. It also had horible battery life, and would sometimes not charge even though it said it was.

+1, CDMA networks have a faster LTE capability but GSM will bring you a lot more benefits particularly with nexus devices. Personally, I am thinking about going to AT&T or T-Mobile after my contract with Verizon expires next April and buying a gnex or the next nexus device if it will be available by then. Verizon is, in my opinion, the best network in terms of customer service and cell reception but they are also aware of that and take advantage of that fact by leaching their customers and bloating phones for no reason. You are far better off with a GSM network like AT&T for good reception or t-mobile and you can still get an unlimited plan for a reasonable price.
Thanks a lot guys! I really do want to stick with Verizon, but with the income I make being a 16 year old dishwasher, its kinda hard to afford it. The only reason I would move to sprint is because of the cheaper contracts and the Evo (even though I've heard some pretty interesting defects on it.) I still have until December to make up my mind if I don't want to pay for early termination.

Yeah I highly recommended T-Mobile for those who have their coverage in their area. If not, then ATT. I suggest T-Mobile first, because at least in my opinion, they have cheaper prices and better customer support. I pay $15 a month right now on T-Mobile

I was comparing prices over the weekend and found that as of right now, it is cheaper for me and my wife to stay with Verizon. Our contract is up in Dec, if signing a new one forces us into the tiered plan, we will probably switch to sprint, they still have unlimited as of right now. But if I can keep my unlimited even though we sign a new contract, I will stay with Verizon and buy my phones through swappa or Google if they really do come out with a new Nexus that they will sell themselves. It all depends on the unlimited factor for me. If would like to check out t-mobile but I don't know anyone around me who has it. AT&T is a no go, we left them for Verizon because of poor reception, we called and they said they had a tower down in our area due to corrosion, that means rust to me and that is just lazy on their part.
It might be time to rethink my usage and dependence on a cell phone.
You can get a $25 T-Mobile phone and a free sim if you go into the store or $1 if you buy online to test out their coverage

Hi, sorry i just want to know why a lot people like Note 2 US version? And they're waiting AT&T or T-Mobile version. So they want to sacrifice high money monthly bill to get LTE? Or something else? I'm apologize i dont mean to offend you guys, i just recommend using STRAIGHT TALK, it works because StraightTalk using AT&T network. Right now i'm using Note 1 with Straight Talk. Only $45 per month (clear without any taxes, by OnLine payment). If you buy 6 month/1 year package will be cheaper(total each month). Remember Straight Talk is NOT LTE/4G, but for me as long we can play smoothly HQ high quality YouTube then that's will be enough. So you guys can save money, instead HIGH monthly bill from AT&T. So we may get Note 2 International version using Straight Talk. Sorry my English is not perfectly. Peace out, dude.
There are a few reasons:
1) straight talk coverage isn't nearly as large as the coverage of AT&T
2) You don't want the AT&T network. There are plenty of areas where service X is better than AT&T.
I happen to live in an AT&T dead zone. And the international network basically only works on AT&T (unless you give up 3g for t-mobile)
3) Some people do do a lot of streaming and want LTE
4) AT&T doesn't give you a discount on plans if you are off contract,
So if you are going to be on AT&T anyway, you might as well have them help pay for the phone.
5) If you want repair/warranty work, it's much less hassle to buy it in a local store.
6) Local stores may let you try out a phone for 30 days, if you aren't sure.
7) Many people don't even know about straight talk
T-mobile has pay as you go plans which are cheaper than on-contract plans. Unfortunately the international note doesn't work on those plans.
If I didn't live in a dead zone, I would do simply mobile for sure. But I do, so I'm going to buy the t-mobile phone (in full),
and get the cheap monthly 4g plan. It's my cheapest option by far.
- Frank
I'm waiting for the T-Mobile version because from what I've read it is in the international version. I guess we'll have more details once the phones are actually out there.
LOL, I alone pay $35 a month on AT&T under a family plan. Which only includes the stupid 2GB Data allowance and unlimited text. With very little shared minutes (I don't talk to much unless the recipient is on AT&T and or on a mobile phone. And weekends is free on voice.).

I am thinking of going to straight Talk myself. So I was going to buy a gsm phone and buy there sim card. I guess I am confused on which version of the note 2 I should get it know at&tt just opened new 4G in my area but I am sick of contracts and high prices. I am willing to pay 4-5 hundred usd and still save money over a two year period.
So does the note2 international version get released before the USA version?

Have too
I have too for now.
I am on Verizons network
and dont pull in a whole lot of change monthly,so its a wait for me for bigred to announce,I figure monday or tuesday they will, they had to wait till apple got the opening sales out of the way,..
I'm on Sprint SERO-P plan. $50+tax a month for 500mins, unlimited text, data(3g &4g), night&weekend, data roaming. Sure I will get suck with another 2years contract but I'm not sure if there is a better plan?
I bought D851 from swappa and its coming Thursday this week, I would like to know if MetroPCS would work if the phone is locked tmobile..? Do I need to get it unlocked? I wanted to use it on $60 plan
Any reason why you wouldn't do the T-Mobile prepaid?
Sent from my LG-D851 using Tapatalk
Why would you choose metro over t mobile?
Because I'm born deaf then got hearing aid implant, I rarely talk on the phone so I text and use data more. $60 seems good for me rather than $30 plan 5GB since I am out of the house a lot. I'm not used to being on the phone and talk to people because they say something and I don't hear them well so I always needed someone by my side for it. I've been testing on MetroPCS and I was seeing if $30 5GB was good for me but I don't know. I'm sorry if its a bother. Its first time buying a unlocked phone I've saved up for outside of my family's contract plan.
I'm on the MetroPCS $60 Plan. I had no problems using the phone. I was coming from Sprint.
The first t mobile store I went to wouldn't sell me the phone unless I signed up for T-Mobile service. I even got corporate customer service on the office with them, telling them that I could buy the phone without contract.
I ended up leaving, went down the street to a car toys store, and bought the phone for $50 less then the T-Mobile price.
I went into a mwtropcs branch, paid $10 for as sim card, and ported my number from Sprint.
Great coverage in my area (metropcs uses t Mobile towers).
The t mobile phone comes unlocked, so you shouldn't have any problems. Only thing to note is that each version of the g3 has different radios. So the t mobile version might not have as good of coverage on at&t's network.

Thank you SO MUCH for your reply, I was worrying a lot but you gave me a relief. I bought the T-Mobile G3 in mint condition for good price without original box as the seller have good ratings on swappa, but it hasn't even arrived today because USPS wasn't updating much on the phone tracking and got all the way to Florida passing my state from New York. I live in Virginia and I gotten really upset, I was like never again with Swappa.. I never had any issues with eBay but I was wary about that.. Thank you so much for your reply though. Both of my phone case and sim card coming in now I will have to wait for it tomorrow tomorrow or the weekend, sigh. :crying:
