Hi have recently purchased my galaxy s , it was freezing etc so i decided to do a factory reset , However prior to reset , I had 2 samsung apps which i used and now missing these were ,
1-samsung im Instant Messenger
2-samsung email and not he default icon showing email.
This link will show you the icons and also confirm that i am talking real. the link
is youtube.com/watch?v=Uk84hFv5MxM
The samsung email app allows you to add email account such as hotmail and yahoo and then syncs in real time not the default 5min etc and so on this is real time push . I am surprised no one has talked about this particular app as so many people want real time push email by default .
I have contacted samung support which were appalling as usual stating i should return the device and they didnt even know what i was talking about.
Anyhow i have flashed the device with several firmwares and i cant seem to find these two apps and i really want them particualary the samsung email client ,
Can someone advise if they have these two apps and which firmware they are using or which firmware i will need, i have checked samsung website for manual downloads but with no luck.
I also recieved a link with samsung apps which did not have the 2 i need, im wondering if samsung have removed them or they were intially intended for the asian market but how can that be as the presentation by samsung boasted about the galaxy s (Socail Hub ) which these two are part of so were are they.
I am using this device in the uk and I will appreciate your help in this matter
Thanks
OK,I bought my device in mid November for Xmas gift. Since the beginning of the year, I decided to use one of the perks. Low and behold I am charged. I try to contact the company involved and they say that they only provide a limited trial. But Samsung states the trial period is much longer. I contacted Samsung abouot my issue, and wonder what I was not sent during my registration. I own many Samsung devices and have had my account since late 2008. So I know my account registered the device and should have had some details in regards to perks. The only thing I got was a one time webpage with a Google play code for my credits, everything else was just unlinked information for all new subscribers to the perks.
Has anyone dealt with perks and have any ideas to resolve such issues? I don't want to be charged for something I am trying out.
Possible fix
Well, I finally an answer back from the second point of contact... they stated that they normally don't support tablet but offer support through phone service. Any way now I must call Samsung support to run through the issue one more time, so they can figure out what to do.
Some head way
OK, got done with my call to Samsung.
I learned not to register the device through your Samsung account devices page. I have many Samsung items through the years, as I had learned it is easy to go and register that way.
The proper link is http://www.samsung.com/us/register-for-your-galaxy-perks/#note-8 for the Note 8.0
Also for some odd reason they want a google email account, which I never had until after registering. Take note that if you have an existing Samsung account, the email address needed for registration completion is your gmail email address.
I wish web developers had a brain, this is not the first time I have seen such a broken way cross linking account information, just annoys the krappa out of me.
Now to fix the issue with Samung Link unable to fetch account authentication information with my Samsung account. Yes, I deleted and recreated the Samsung account many many times. Just another annoying issue. (
While waiting...
OK, while I had some time, I fixed my Samsung link issue... had to make it a system app. Samsung loaded PS Touch, and Samsung Link need to be kept as system apps. Though most of all the system apps can be removed and side loaded for Google Play to manage install/removal processes. I prefer it that way for reloads and memory management outside of using Titanium Backup. The less utilities to perform tasks the better. Somebody should do a right up on using built in function to perform most all needs, instead of finding more apps to do what you can do on your own and without rooting.
I doubt I'll ever fix the Video Hub issue... seems that it is getting info from Samsung servers about the device. If the device does not match the white list at the authentication server, your a no go at getting content. At one time the Note 8.0 was in the white list, now it looks like it is region select and will check firmware along with device.
I have an app to fake the ID and location, but Video Hub is not a concern just an odd app that has some interesting features that go beyond google play hardware requirements.
Woopie! )
Samsung got me my perks rewards resent to my email address. The Google account that I had to make since I did not use goodle before owning the Note 8.0.
Now I am going to redo my account on which I paid a months subscription, so I can apply my perks.
I have the H815 international model that I'm using on AT&T in the US. When I try to install themes from LG Smartworld, it tells me that my phone isn't supported and to select the right language (US). But that's not even an option in the Smartworld app. The closest I could select is UK, which is what's giving me this error. Is there any way to use Smartworld and the themes without switching the system language?
I have the same phone and I am encountering the same issue. Sucks because my wife really wants to change the theme. Hope lg fixes this problem.
I figured it out. Since my wife's account was already set to US and I was having difficulty changing regions. I Googled "lg smart world Hong Kong" . I did this because the app kept saying US region isn't supported. I also noticed there was a Hong Kong (English) selection in the app. Once I registered my personal email address through the Hong Kong website. I went back to the phone force closed the app and cleared data on it through the settings on the phone. I also went to accounts while in the phone settings (where u see your Google sync, Facebook, etc) in there is the smart world account. I removed my wife's account then went back into the app. Signed in with my account after selecting region as Hong Kong (English) and viola I was able to download themes. My wife doesn't like the fact that there is some stuff in Chinese but told her to pick her poison. Maybe someone can try UK and let me know if that works. So everything will be in English.

Ok. So using the groundwork laid down by Tibedabeeto, I managed to get the UK version to work.
This is what I did:
go into apps section - clear the data on the Smartworld app
turn off the phone, remove the back and the battery
pull your sim (i'm guessing this is only going to work on GSM phones)
put the phone back together with the sim removed
go to the smartworld app, register a new email and select "United Kingdom"
this should let you go through all the steps of registering with your email and verifying the account
once you go into the smartworld app you should be ok to download whatever you want (I didn't purchase anything however so I can't attest to how well that works since its going to show everything in euros rather than US dollars.
i haven't tried to download with my sim in place, but i suspect that since it recognized my location with the sim in but, not with the sim out, downloading with the sim in place may limit you since the app may be pulling location from the sim provider.
the uk website wanted all sorts of information like address, zip and you need to actually register a device in order to have an account. this way allows you to do things through your phone and bypass all that info.
Difference here: at the Accounts I don't have anything related with lg yet. Ok then nothing to clear out..
Still can't get it to work even though germany is a supported country. After registering a new account on the lg german country homepage and acctivating it through mail the app keeps telling me the the ID is unknown or wrong. Ok, it's a little step ahead for it doesn't tell me anymore that the service is unavailable but still I can't use it. Any further advice?
Facebook
Ok this is crazy. All of a sudden I was able to register through my facebook account. Before it wouldn't accept that either. Cool at the first glance but now I can register but as soon as I want to download something I get the "not supported country" message as writers in the stated before.. this is a really weird topic!
success
Finally, with my last email adress I made it to work. Pretty much as it was described but for germany. So it's proofed this works too. Already downloaded a free Theme which I am running right now. So go for that..
I've tried pretty much all of the above but no joy. It says these services aren't available in Ireland. Tried clearing data and force stop, shut down, remove sim, restart and ran Smart World app again trying to choose UK instead. No luck with any of it.
A bit disappointed with LG to be honest, you'd kinda expect THEIR own app would work for THEIR own customers after shelling out over €700 for their flagship phone. Hope I'm not gonna regret moving over from Samsung. Would have expected better from LG. I've sent about 3 or 4 emails to customer support but no help coming from them so far.
Oh Well, C'est la vie!

It's crazy that it'snot supported in Ireland..
It's annoying having to register again and the reason for me contacting LG was to see if there was a way without having to re-register. Unfortunately not but to confirm what is being said above....
Unfortunately, LG SmartWorld Service is not available in Ireland.
Also currently LG SmartWorld is providing English and the local language where services are available only.
Your understanding in this point would be highly appreciated.
We will deliver your precious comment to the related department in order to provide our service in your place.
As per the mobile phone's model, the country where service is available is different.
Please kindly delete the cache first as below instruction and then try to register with selecting the country in where our service is available:
* LG Home screen, press Menu key >> System settings >> Apps >> SmartWorld >> Clear data
Please note that as per LG SmartWorld service policy, each e-mail ID is available in one country only.
If you want to register at other country's LG SmartWorld, it is required to use each different E-Mail for your registration.
If you don't have LG SmartWorld App, please kindly download it as per the below instructions:
On Mobile web-browser: Go to "http://www.lgworld.com" >> Select "Area" >> Select "Country" >> Download LG SmartWorld
(Note: for better downloading, Wi-Fi connection is highly recommended.)
Thank you for using LG SmartWorld.
We will return to you by offering quality service soon.
Kind regards
LG Electronics

At least they try to help you out how to work around and make it available. Around here they just tell it is not and don't offer no help at all.
Hello,
I have the same issue - I am unable to download anything from the LG SmartWorld store. I live in Bulgaria.
Initially I tried to log on using facebook and google account, but I received the message that the service is not available in Bulgaria. Then I tried what I was advised by the LG support:
1. I cleared the data and cache of the application and then uninstalled it.
2. I registered new account in www.lg.com/uk
3. I downloaded LG SmartWorld through my phone by going to www.lgworld.com and then by selecting UK as region.
4. I installed the app and then once more selected UK as region.
At the moment I am still unable to download anything from the store. When I attempt to install a wallpaper I am prompted to log in and when I do with my LG UK account it says that the ID is unknown/incorrect. I also tried to recover my ID by specifying the e-mail, but the app says that the e-mail is not recognized.
Could someone please help? I feel that it is pretty absurd to pay good money for this phone and not being able to use such a simple application.
Thanks in advance.
Solved!
The latest SmartWorld version (v4.6.6) allows free downloads regardless of user account. The feature is called "Device Authentication".
anyone any idea how you cancel this handset was swapped out as it had a display fault went to activate on new handset does not appear to be linked to Samsung account and Samsung UK were about as much use as an ashtray on a motorbike any help most welcome
Log back into your Samsung account?
Or log out and back in?
Also, punctuation, that was painful to read
Hi folks!
So I've been using the Huawei Mate 20x for about a year now and all was good! I accidentally dropped my phone and damaged the screen. Though the phone turns on, I can't do anything as the screen is pitch black.
I set up my old iPhone only to notice that none of the contacts I saved in the past year was uploaded to google contacts! How did this happen? I was always logged into Google services and I'm sure it's auto-linked to google.
What do I do about my contacts? Is there a way to retrieve them from my phone? The Huawei service centres don't service this model right now as it's not launched in my country yet (got this from Hong Kong)
I really REALLY need the contacts! Please help! thanks in advance.
