Anyway to turn the screen off, with the power button, but keep music playing?
Tried it with the touchflo3D player and the windows media player...both turn off the music when I try to turn the screen off...
Anyone else have this problem?
I have pocketshied installed...so not sure if this is a phone prob or pocketshield is causing it to happen...it still happens whether pocketshield is on or not though...
Thanks
I have never had this problem on my Tilt 2. Is this a TP2 only issue?

"keep music playing".
search xda or google..
yeah, it's working for me as well although you cannot skip tracks like you can with iphone unless you install third party software.
did you check your lock setting and make sure you check "lock if playing music"?

Again, not an issue for me. I skip tracks without issue. I use my BT headphones to listen to music while I ride my mountain bike and I have runsat recording my ride going in the background. No issues whatsoever. I have none of the "fixes" mentioned installed, it has always worked fine for me even now that I'm using S2U2.

I'll have to try S2U2.
What's with the skip track thing that's being talked about?
Do you guys mean while the screen is off?
I have the tilt2 and also have this problem. by default, WMP is supposed to keep playing, but only if you let the device suspend on its own. This generally works, but there will be a brief stutter and lag when it first turns the device off.
PocketPlayer is a good 3rd party app that has the option to turn off the screen for uninterupted listening. Playlist management is a bit of a chore with that program, though.

The cab file is inside the zip file along with a bunch of other stuff for modding the S2U2 clock and skins. All you need is the one cab file for the actual S2U2 program. Unzip it to a folder and just copy the cab file to your device and run it. If you don't know how to unzip a file you might want to reconsider modding your phone.
EDIT: Here. I'll make it easy for you. Latest version attached.

BTW did a hard reset...and the issue is still there.
It keeps playing if there's a headset, external speakers, or bluetooth headset that it is playing through....but not through the phone's speakers.

Hey, I never thought to try that since I don't listen to music through the phone speakers. Mine stops when listening that way, too.

My Tilt 2 does the same thing.
Could you just set a quicker "screen off" time in the power settings? Wouldn't that basically accomplish the same thing? It is weird that it will keep playing when the phone goes into standby on its own, but not when you press the power button to turn the screen off.

Actually, it makes sense the way it is. If you are manually turning off the backlight it assumes you want to shut down all functions except the phone.
I found that if I just push the lock button for S2U2 it locks the screen and shuts the screen off at the set time, but allows the music to keep playing. A small hassel, but a work around.
Keep Music Playing
Registry location:
HKLM\System\CurrentControlSet\Control\Power\State\ Unattended\
Change Wav1 dword value to a "0"
Then when you have music playing in any program,
tap the power button to put in suspend mode,
and you're good to go.
Hi, i have following question: anytime i connect device over Bluetooth and start to play music, it never power off screen or locks. I would like device to do it, as it consumes battery if i forget to manually switch display off. is there some way to make this happen automatically. I have tested various ICS ROMs but this is same at each one. any hints appreciated.
thanks

i tested on Nokia BH-214 and it works ok and screen goes to lock and blank, but tested on BMW 92870 internal car kit, it remains light . so it is probably car kit and ICS compatimility issue.

It's possible, though not something I particularly heard of unless it was designed that way (i.e.: as phones in a car are sometimes plugged into the charger).
What ICS rom is it? I know some applications as well have permission to keep the screen awake, though not sure if that would be it either since you said you tried it with another BT device (assuming same app).

I tried Andromadus, CM beta 12,13 and now i use EliteMod, looks like car kit forces light to remain and it is also when running without charger only on battery.
Hello,
I bought new a new headphone yesterday (sennheiser cx400 precision ii)
When I am walking around with these new earphone's they sometimes call the last person in my list.
The music stops playing and I hear the same sound as when I hang up.
Then the music continues playing.
When I opened the call information it told me I called like 10 times today.
Each of the calls was 1 sec or so?
Does any of you guys know how this can happen?

HTC Sense lock screen tends to unlock often in my pocket, and i had similar problem.
Try to do that: in settings/security/screen lock set lock method ( i use pattern )
This kept my phone from unlocking in my pocket.

ok,
Does this happen only with this headphones, or with other too ? ( this maybe a stupid question, but if the headphone plug does not fit correctly, it might trigger 4th "pin" that some earphone/microphone sets have for picking up and making calls, at least this is my guess )
Does this happen on stock / other roms ? new ARH is out ( v17 ) you may try to update.

Yea that's what I was thinking, it might hit the 4th pin, so is there a way to disable this 4th pin as I do not have a button on my headphone anyways?
Yes it only happens with headphones.

Well I am going to try this sometime soon, thank you for your help.
I might aswell get another plug installed on my headset (with 4 rings) leaving one of the rings without a signal.
This will make sure the plug isn't touching anything else.
But ill try the widget first.

The app does not work for ICS nor JB, I am currently running JB.
More suggestions?
I've tried the normal htc head-set and pressing the button 3 times in a row gives me the same problem as described before.
So the new headset is indeed triggering a signal, would replacing the 3ring plug with a 4ring plug solve this problem?
The 4th ring wont be connected to annything thereby making the signal 0.
The apps I found do not work, they work for music and other stuff but not for the call problem (pres 3 times)
Could there be a way to dissable this in the android software itselve, as I do have root access?

I found a headset with button and indeed pressing it 3 times makes call and drops it after about 1 sec.
I also tried a few apps from market and none of them is working as expected.
On the kernel level it seems like only reading this button is possible, and apps that "block" it only try to intercept a button press and register its own handler, but on new androids 4+ registering handler for this button does not suppress further processing of button press action so its looks to me like blocking it by app is not possible
Hardware solution may be the only way
I have an idea but I'm at work so i cant try it now: you may try to insulate the area of jack plug where 4th pin is supposed to be, like here:

Hi everyone,
I've been looking for a fix to my phone for weeks now, even got the 3.5mm jack changed, but can't find a fix. The problem: I plug an ordinary pair of headphones into my phone (no mic, no headset controls) and the phone thinks it's a headset with all the bells and whistles I said it doesn't have. As soon as something knocks the jack plugged in, it senses a headset-button-press and either starts/stops/skips music, or activates Google voice search. My phone is running android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean (Pacman). I've tried all apps (HeadsetBlocker, Toggleheadset2, SoundAbout) designed to handle this problem, without succes, that's why I'm looking for a manual way of disabling the controls. Isn't it possible to just remove a line of code from the system, or add a line to block the flipping thing? I don't even mind if it were a permanent irreversable fix, just someone please help! I've been musicless because of this for 3 months now. :' (
Problem remains
Lots of experts around then... -.- Does anyone know what the app - called Headset Blocker - actually does regarding the system? Or does anyone know how I could find out for myself what the app tries to do? I'm thinking of smth like an "app logcat", if such exists... All help appreciated, thanks in advance!

I am also interested in this issue. I have a Galaxy SIII with 4.1.2 and accidentally, it got wet around 2 months ago. The problem is that it detects no real headset plugs, not allowing using the MIC and internal speaker, unless using a real headset. My aim is to disable the "headset plug", but no luck with all the apps you mention. I have read that there are an issue with ICS versiones, but I would like to find a solution.
Install "disable autoplay" from play store. It kills the autoplay caused by headset.

It's just a icon for me, doesn't work.
Also, deleting /system/usr/keylayout/AVRCP.kl and /system/usr/keylayout/h2w_headset.kl doesn't work, too.

Hi,
Just wondering if anybody has tested the NFC functionality? I am currently using the Smartband - and I use the NFC on the Core with Xposed Framework to unlock my phone (Xperia Z1). Aside from dealing with the annoyance of having Lifeblog constantly launching upon unlocking - I find it quite useful without having to enter a PIN every time.
Not many details on the location of the NFC antennas on the SW3. Wondering if I can truly replace the Smartband with the SW3.
There is smart unlock feature in lollipop so it will not ask for pin if smart watch connected, I believe you can achieve similar with xposed or 3rd party apps on previous versions of android
NFC works
If you got NFC on your phone turned on the phone recognizes the watch by bumping and opens the android wear app.

If the watch is off, nfc contact also turns it on.
I was testing SW3 NFC with newly purchased Sony SBH-60 headphones. No luck - nothing activates. The headphones worked fine once manually paired, but in my opinion NFC does not work, most likely is not supported by Android Wear yet. Which would be another big disappointment - no LifeLog app on the watch, no sleep tracking with use of Watch, no Walkman app, now no NFC support.

So far, so good. Everything works as advertised and nice sound, overall yet I'm not an audiophile to comment on a lot. I think you should not worry about pairing with Nexus 5, but I can't tell for sure, no N5 around to test

Yes, this is the only feature that works. Not really useful.
Thank you BartManx, I'm also not an audiophile so I guess it'll be good to me too.
Until Android Wear starts supporting NFC, it's hard to test the full capabilities of NFC on the SW3. As others have reported, right now it just opens the Android Wear app on the phone.

According to the owners manual the NFC antennae is in the centre of the screen. Which makes sense so it can be used while on your wrist.

If you don't have Lollipop, but you have a rooted phone, NFC and Bluetooth can be awesome.
I hate using a pass code. I like waking up my phone and going right to what I want to do. However, if I ever leave my phone unattended, it would be nice to know that someone can't just get into it and start messing with things. So, I have a rooted LG G2 running Xposed. There is a module called: "No Lock Home"
In a nutshell, after you enter you Bluetooth address of the watch into the module, if you are wearing your watch and you walk away from your phone far enough to break the NFC/Bluetooth connection, the phone goes into lock mode (meaning you need a pass code or pattern or whatever you set up); once you come back into range of the phone, the pass code/pattern lock goes away and you're free from having to take the extra 3 seconds to "unlock" your phone.
Technology is the bees knees!!
There is an app called Skiplock which I believe is made by someone on XDA which does the same thing but without the need for root. You can use BT or Wifi for keeping the phone unlocked.
I'm not sure if my sw3 doesn't have (dont work maybe?) nfc or my nexus 5's nfc isn't working. Anybody could show me what happen when the sw3 is close to a smartphone?
EDIT: found it https://youtu.be/4YStUt_RPKs?t=5m7s
So or my nexus 5 nfc is fkd up or my sw3's nfc is fkd up lol
EDIT2: Ok solved. The replacement part I got for my nexus 5 was broken. I got use the nfc+wireless recharging combo from my old (original) back cover.
