[Q] Turn off Screen but keep Media Player Working? - Touch Pro2, Tilt 2 Windows Mobile General

Anyway to turn the screen off, with the power button, but keep music playing?
Tried it with the touchflo3D player and the windows media player...both turn off the music when I try to turn the screen off...
Anyone else have this problem?
I have pocketshied installed...so not sure if this is a phone prob or pocketshield is causing it to happen...it still happens whether pocketshield is on or not though...
Thanks

I have never had this problem on my Tilt 2. Is this a TP2 only issue?

dude..u only need reg.cab name
"keep music playing".
search xda or google..

yeah, it's working for me as well although you cannot skip tracks like you can with iphone unless you install third party software.
did you check your lock setting and make sure you check "lock if playing music"?

Again, not an issue for me. I skip tracks without issue. I use my BT headphones to listen to music while I ride my mountain bike and I have runsat recording my ride going in the background. No issues whatsoever. I have none of the "fixes" mentioned installed, it has always worked fine for me even now that I'm using S2U2.

I'll have to try S2U2.
What's with the skip track thing that's being talked about?
Do you guys mean while the screen is off?

I have the tilt2 and also have this problem. by default, WMP is supposed to keep playing, but only if you let the device suspend on its own. This generally works, but there will be a brief stutter and lag when it first turns the device off.
PocketPlayer is a good 3rd party app that has the option to turn off the screen for uninterupted listening. Playlist management is a bit of a chore with that program, though.

The cab file is inside the zip file along with a bunch of other stuff for modding the S2U2 clock and skins. All you need is the one cab file for the actual S2U2 program. Unzip it to a folder and just copy the cab file to your device and run it. If you don't know how to unzip a file you might want to reconsider modding your phone.
EDIT: Here. I'll make it easy for you. Latest version attached.

BTW did a hard reset...and the issue is still there.
It keeps playing if there's a headset, external speakers, or bluetooth headset that it is playing through....but not through the phone's speakers.

Hey, I never thought to try that since I don't listen to music through the phone speakers. Mine stops when listening that way, too.

My Tilt 2 does the same thing.
Could you just set a quicker "screen off" time in the power settings? Wouldn't that basically accomplish the same thing? It is weird that it will keep playing when the phone goes into standby on its own, but not when you press the power button to turn the screen off.

Actually, it makes sense the way it is. If you are manually turning off the backlight it assumes you want to shut down all functions except the phone.

I found that if I just push the lock button for S2U2 it locks the screen and shuts the screen off at the set time, but allows the music to keep playing. A small hassel, but a work around.

Keep Music Playing
Registry location:
HKLM\System\CurrentControlSet\Control\Power\State\ Unattended\
Change Wav1 dword value to a "0"
Then when you have music playing in any program,
tap the power button to put in suspend mode,
and you're good to go.

Good morning,
I recall that on WM6 B&B 4.0 i was able to turn off the screen and still be able to hear music or talk on the phone etc...
However and after my upgrade to 4.1 everytime i turnoff the screen the sound, phone etc, will just stop working... is there any way, aka tweak-hack, that will allow me to do this again, or was this a bug that was not suppose to happen??
Thanks in advanced.

do your use Audio Manager Plugin to play the Music?
If so, press a Control Button in the Today Plugin once the Music has started
(i.e. Pause and then Resume)
Then it should work.

ok i solved it!!!!!
Downloaded this:
http://freedownloadplus.softonic.com/PDA/HTCAudioManager_Softonic.zip
and inside the zip there is a audiomanager.exe substitute for the file inside /windows/ and now there is no need for touching on the today screen, both today and normal program work on standby mode.!!!!!

Have you installed RemoteVol, by any chance? The app that allows you to change volume from the forward/back keys on your headset?
No i haven't, has anyone else had this?
have you installed a power saving or battery saving app? alot of them auto switch things like that off when the screen is off to save batt power, maybe there are options in settings somewhere to restore it
Nope nothing like that

I think that if you have SpareParts installed, it auto-downloads RemoteVol if you enable that option to change volume via the keys on the stock headset.

[Q] Bluetooth audio and pernament display light

Hi, i have following question: anytime i connect device over Bluetooth and start to play music, it never power off screen or locks. I would like device to do it, as it consumes battery if i forget to manually switch display off. is there some way to make this happen automatically. I have tested various ICS ROMs but this is same at each one. any hints appreciated.
thanks

i tested on Nokia BH-214 and it works ok and screen goes to lock and blank, but tested on BMW 92870 internal car kit, it remains light . so it is probably car kit and ICS compatimility issue.

It's possible, though not something I particularly heard of unless it was designed that way (i.e.: as phones in a car are sometimes plugged into the charger).
What ICS rom is it? I know some applications as well have permission to keep the screen awake, though not sure if that would be it either since you said you tried it with another BT device (assuming same app).

I tried Andromadus, CM beta 12,13 and now i use EliteMod, looks like car kit forces light to remain and it is also when running without charger only on battery.

Sound cutting out

Has anyone found a fix for the sound cutting out after a few seconds of a video or game? I have tried the soubdabout app, Turing the USB option off, disable Power save.. Still happening..

I have the same issue sometimes, I've read around the web and it seems to be a mix of software and hardware related, I read a guy suggest removing and putting back the case (in case you have one) and I did that and the sound came back, haven't had the issue again.

Hmm, I keep mine out of a case,.. Yeah I'm not sure what it is, it's a 50/50 between some say software and some say hardware. I would asume that software would of been fixed by now, either Samsung or 3rd party
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G891A using Tapatalk
So I found a solution for the issue in my case, it does seem to be software but it's really weird cause the issue continues in any firmware, it started when I was on 6.0.1 PI2, then I flashed Nougat and had the same problem (I hated it and battery drain was killing me) I went back to 6.0 and changed to the PK2 version and the issue continued, it was really weird cause it would cut out in audio messages, games but not music, I also tried every single suggestion on every forum and post I could find EXCEPT the Soundabout app, today I gave up, installed soundabout, selected media to speakers and bam, problem solved, I still need further testing, but it seems ok for now, keep in mind that I also have "prevent USB audio routing" on and "Easy Mute" off.

I was told to remove all paired bluetooth devices (on/off doesnt matter) then go to settings>connections>more connection settings>nearby device scanning then turn off... worked for me... (sorry for zombifying an old post but as this is still current with mine and many devices i decided to help)

No now playing in Sounds setting?

Just got a pixel 2 xl and one of the features I was most excited about was Now Playing, unfortunately I can't find it anywhere in settings>Sounds>Advanced settings, any idea what could be wrong?
Settings, Security, lock screen preferences then it should be in there

It's glitchy at best. Works sometimes for me and takes a long time to recognize a song. Much more of a novelty item
For me works well with commercial music. If I listen the sort of music I like best.. Nothing. Not surprised there though.
I hope they'll be adding songs to the database and make it more useful.

Well, it takes quite a while to recognize a song, and it can range from several seconds to even minutes. I wouldn't rely on it being able to pick up every song out there, especially at low volumes or loud environments that can make it harder for the device to recognize songs. Also, you might want to make sure that you're not covering the microphone and that your microphone works perfectly fine.
It was working for me, but it has since stopped. I think it happened when Google issued the November update. Looks like they might have broken something.

Tis a poor feature. Only recognises very famous songs. The sort of songs you already know the name of!
Plus, Google Hates Christmas. 1 in 3 Christmas songs don't show up.

Many users facing this problem. Even me, After enable now playing feature it's not working properly. But after uninstall Words With Friends 2 game, it's work like a charm.
