[Q] Htc One X - HTC One X

Hello all
I am sorry to bother you all with this question but I am having a rather crappy time trying to find a nandroid backup or a custom rom that I can use, I have had some great adive from a fellow member named Thant, but I am usure on what to put on my phone as I cant find the links on the site,if i do find a link i am not sure if i have to update the firmware or hboot as some of the custom roms say to do.
my phone is a htc one x that was from Virgin Uk and I have no rom on the phone at all, Thant helped me out a great deal and i have installed Philz 5.15.9 recovery, could some one please point me in the right direction on what i can use so I can put this to bed, many thanks in advance.

Thank You

first of all you can find sense based rom here
Close to stock are ARHD, MaximusHD and up to date HERE you can find kit kat roms and Viper X sense based rom with lot of modification, cm11, SlimKat7.6, AICP6.0, OmniRom and lot mor based kitkat roms don't forget for kitkat roms when you copy your rom to sd card you must to flash TWRP2.7.1, or latest CWM or latest Philz. The sd card mount work only on Philz 5.15.9

[Q] HOX stuck on slash screen

Hi,
It goes to show that a little knowledge is a dangerous thing!!!
I flashed my phone with Team Viper 2.6 (I think) and all was working fine ubtil I tried another Rom, can't remember which one and the phone will not boot past the HTC white screen.
After many hours of being unsuccessful, I sent the phone back to HTC for repair and after a few days they said that the mainboard needed replacing for almost £200 !!! So i decided against that and got the phone back.
I can get into HBoot and Fasboot USB, also can get into TWRP, so tried to reload Team Viper, as that is the only backup I had. It went through the installation process OK, but still won't get past the flash screen.
Here are some details of the phone:

You probably just need to flash the boot.img from the rom zip...extract it to your fastboot folder and then execute " fastboot flash boot boot.img" and then "fastboot erase cache" using cmd (command prompt) and then reboot

Thanks for the reply, but where would I get the boot.img from?
Would that be from the Team Viper ROM, or do I download from elsewhere?
Look in the flashable zip. Simply extract the boot.img from the zip:thumbup:

U have a backup of viper rom right? And twrp recovery? So there is a boot.emmc.win file in twrp folder on your sd card.. Flash this boot file from fastboot( b4 or after restoring the backup)

You will find it in the rom zip file or you can download the viper kernel from the rom's thread..either of them will work for you.. good luck mate

Thanks to all you guys for your help, but did as you suggested and still no further forward.
Is there a ROM that will return my phone to stock complete with kernel, boot.img etc, that will re-install everything, wike a Windows re-installation. Or am I asking too much here?
I am losing faith in this and I can see it being dumped in the trash before long.
Flash this recovery
http://db.tt/SPXdFfPw
Rename it to recovery.img and flash it :
Fastboot flash recovery recovery.img
Fastboot erase cache
Then flash the boot.img from the viper x 3.7.5 (open the rom.zip with 7zip and copy the file)
Fastboot flash boot boot.img
Fastboot erase cache
Then go into recovery and wipe all :
Factory reset
Wipe cache partition
Mounts & storage - format cache,data,system
Advanced - wipe dalvik cache
Then install the viper x rom.zip and follow instructions.
When you get a question about a kernel....choose viper x delivered !
Done

Mr Hofs, many thanks for the links. I downloaded 3.7.4 and the update 3.7.5.
That was the good bit......I tried to push the ROM using adb in command mode, but I couldn't get it to recognise the phone.
I thought I maybe able to drop the files onto the sd card via Windows, but althought the phone is recognised in Device Manager, it doesn't show up in Windows Explore.
I am sorry that all your help and advice has been wasted, maybe it will help others whose phone isn't as sick as mine.
I may have another go tomorrow, but it's looking like it's headed for that great waste bin in the sky.:crying:
If you want to copy the rom to the phone you go into the recovery and then to
Mounts & storage - mount as mass storage (last option in that list)
Its now a usb diskdrive and windows will recognize it (if its not, wait long enough like a minute or so. It can take a while)
Then copy the stuff you need.
Mr Hofs, Many thanks for your help.
I downloaded 3.7.4 and update 3.7.5 and tried adb push and sideload but my device wasn't recognised, although W8 could see it in Device Manager.
I will give it one more go today and if that doesn't work, it's that great trash bin in the skt.
Again many thanks for your help.:crying:
Like i said you don't need to sideload or adb anything, just do as above and you can copy it normally

Just one last question.... is there a way to get back to the Viper default settings, colours etc, without re-installing the ROM?
What do you mean exactly with colours and stuff, did you flash a theme ?

Yes I did ! I used your dark and yellow theme, but the trouble is now that I can't read texts and the normal (HTC) settings are all in yellow and very difficult to read.
Should I do a complete install of Viper again?
Lol did you picked the yellow theme on the skin picker ?

[Q] efs and IMEI messed up, HOX endeavoru

Hello! I've tried various places but can't find a soloution so:
I successfully rooted and flashed my HTC Once X International with AOKP ICJ 4.2.2 a while ago. Few months later, I decided to try the ViperX rom but ran into some problems. After wiping, flashing the boot.img with the Venom Flasher and successfully installing the new rom, I had no service and was "stuck" in Airplane mode. I found out that my IMEI is blank and that my efs folder is also gone. I have a stock root nandroid backup but it does me no good with the missing efs folder and IMEI. I am using TWRP v2.4.0.0. since that's the only version that gave me touch control. I have no backup of the efs folder as I was not even aware of it's existence until today.
I am really sorry if this question has been answered before but I could not find a solution no matter how hard I searched. What do?

Probably yes. Flash back the stock rom, and flash the boot.img. if it still doesn't connect there is pretty much nothing you can do

First, make sure your phone has same cid, otherwise flashing incorrect rom will cause more problem.
The steps are as follow:
- Identify your cid and find the correct stock rom (latest update)
- Unlock bootloader
- Flash custom recovery (twrp, cwm, philz)
- Boot to recovery > Mount sd card and copy rom (zip file) to sd card
- Flash stock rom and boot.img (follow rom instruction carefully)
- Reboot and it should work.
If you dont know any of the above steps, please search the forum for details. You can also raise question here, I and others will try to help at soonest.

take the boot.img from Flash_boot_4.18.401.2.rar paste in your fastboot folder and flash it after this go in rcovery and install the zip One_X_4.18.401.2_odexed.zip. Then restart the phone and see if your IMEI or basband are there if no then bad if yes you can leave like this or you can flash stock recovery the same way like boot.img but recovery and last you will see update to 4.18.401.4 you can apply the update. But don't forget to make your own nandroid backup if you restore your IMEI and Baseband

[q] Htc one m8s (qul), can't seem to boot

Hi guys,
After a lot of reading and searching without any luck, this seems the last resort for me. This is the problem.
A week ago or so, I got the marshmallow update on my Phone, htc one m8s. Before this update, i managed to do a custom recovery and root etc. Then I heard about the update and installed an RUU again, restoring the Phone back to stock (renamed RUU zip to 0PKVIMG and copied that into my sd card; after that the stock recovery went all fine).
After the marshamallow update, I tried to do custom recovery again. Somehow it didnt work and i couldnt get the custom recovery working. It flashed fine, booted the img, but wouldnt start the recovery. I tried different varriants of twrp etc. Nothing worked. So that is problem number 1.
The second problem is, dat I think is that I have used a wrong version of recovery boot. Now the Phone wont start after the bootlogo.
The third is, that I cant install stock again, using the method above. I am getting the message; device halted due to large image (...) etc.
Can someone help me please? I would just be happy getting back to stock and be able to use my device again.
Thank you in advance.

First - edit & delete the imei no. from your post.
Your problem is more or less is the same as this one - http://forum.xda-developers.com/htc...-one-m8-wont-update-boot-to-recovery-t3385874
Read thru that thread .. the only difference is you need to find 2.10.401.1 firmware.zip
Check http://forum.xda-developers.com/htc-one-m8/one-m8s-general/make-custom-recovery-htc-one-m8s-t3114245 to see whether you can find the 2.10.401.1 firmware.zip there
* I requested moderator to move your thread to M8s section.

Thanks for your reply! I changed the info.
I really canty find the 2.10.401.1 firmware.zip for m8s. I can find for m9 etc. So I am stuck here. Maybe you know where to find it?
Thanks in advance!
You can find it in the 2nd link that I gave above. It's an OTA zip, you need to extract out the firmware.zip from the 2.10.401.1 OTA.
I can help to upload for you so you don't need to download the whole 1.2 gb OTA for a few mb firmware.zip but you have to wait when I'm home in next 3 hours.

Thank you! I managed to flash it via sdcard.
Now I want to do a custom recovery and root the device. What would be the right recovery for this device and how can I check that myself in the future?
Thanks in advance.

Great that you fixed your main problem.
About custom recovery and how to root I think it's best you check the thread that I linked earlier - http://forum.xda-developers.com/htc-one-m8/one-m8s-general/make-custom-recovery-htc-one-m8s-t3114245
Reason is I don't have this device, only M8 not M8s.
Main thing is use only recovery meant for M8s which you can find a few versions there and install SuperSU.zip that you can get from here : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1538053

Thanks dude, you helped me out a lot with this. My Phone is working now with custom recovery and rooted. Just one last question, so I can finally rest my case.
So getting back to stock, is just flashing the whole OTA file again via sd card i.e. 0PKVIMG or flashing it with fastboot, with the instructions u mentioned above right? Doest it matter whether the devices is unlocked and do i have to flash stock recovery again? or flashing the firmware does the work to gain stock recovery again?

No ... that's wrong.
You should have made a non-rooted stock nandroid backup with the custom recovery before you root it. Just restore the backup and install stock recovery to return to stock.
Anyway .. maybe later, there will be RUU for your version. Always check that thread of RUU collection.

Hey all. Got a M8 today and iv some problems I hope someone can help....

I'm not telling you what to do, I'm asking you questions to see how you were trying to copy the files. I also asked if you could see the phone's internal storage on the PC (which you didn't properly answer, either).
Don't make new threads. Even if the situation changes, its still a result of what you did before. Making new threads just confuses the issue further.
What exactly have you done to the phone to this point? Describe each step in detail, including TWRP version number, SuperSU version number, etc.
Also, do fastboot getvar all, and post the results, so we can see details about the device (delete IMEI and serial number before posting).
I only opend a new thread because its a different problem, when I was making this thread i could use the phone I just couldn't get supersu.zip or a rom.zip from my pc, yes I could see the internal storage show up under my PC but if I copied and pasted it would just give me a error saying device not available or close enough to that. Then after a reboot from using a toolkit hasooon2000 i think i pushed the latest twrp 3.0.5.3 not real number but it was d latest recovery that worked, then I used the same toolkit to push supersu over and it flashed it but i stil had no root. After that I done a reboot and now im stuck on d start screen.
What can I do?
A Fastboot getvar how do i do that pal?

You get stuck after installed SuperSU - most probably you installed an outdated SuperSU - you should try SuperSU 2.65

Read my backup thread linked in my signature.
Restore the 6.13.206.5 backup. Make sure to install the latest TWRP or not older than 2.8.7.0
After restore and reboot, do not accept root offered by TWRP.
You need SuperSU 2.65 to root. Search for it, I can't link here as I'm on mobile and in bed.

This doesn't tell us anything that lets us help you.
Did you do as ckpv5 suggested? If so, you need to describe in detail the exact steps you took (TWRP version, SuperSU version, etc.), the specificresults for each step, where you go stuck, error messages, etc.
