hello. i know this question has been asked numerous times but I've had no lucked getting this resolved . I've rooted my g3 wit towleroot. mms was working fine and then would stop. i would receive a picture but it would not download. found out i had to delete my iPhone from the apple support site. everything was fine. its been about a 3 weeks since it got resolved but now my mms and group messaging is working inconsistently. i tried to send a pic to myself and it doesn't send. i used the stock mms app and chomp sms. no go. it was working fine yesterday and then all of a sudden it stopped working. through chomp sms it states to check my pan settings. i tried changing my port from 80 to 8080 and nothing. i don't think i have any adblocks installed unless it came with towleroot. but i have not dl any adblock apps. can anyone help me on this. this is very frustrating for me. I'm assuming it has to do root because my wife has no issues with her mms but she is not rooted. any help is greatly appreciated. i was using an iPhone 5 previously and made sure my iMessage was off

I love Mighty Text - lets you send/receive SMS/MMS from PC just as if it was sent from phone and it even shows up in your phone.
It's great, but ever since I got my note 3 I can't get MMS to send through Mighty Text. I can send MMS through phone.
I also have Handcent SMS on the phone but that wasn't a problem with my S4 or previous phones.
Anyone have this issue or better yet a solution?
Obviously it's not critical sending text through MightyText still works but I'd like to be able to send MMS that way again.
Thanks

I have Note 3 and same issue. MMS is not sending.
If you are on Wifi, data must also be enabled for MMS to work. I am using Handcent.

I'm not using Handcent or any other text app and I'm having the same issue. Galaxy S3, Android 4.3 and MightyText 4.62. Any tips? Mobile Data is on but can't send group messages or MMS picture messages from the Chrome Web App. All I see if the little clock in the corner and that the message is pending. On the phone I have tried lots of things. Uninstall/Reinstall, Restart, unlink/link, clear cache and data. No dice. Any ideas appreciated.
Possible solution?
I'm on a Note 2, using Handcent and MightyText, and was having the same problem. The following seemed to help: in Handcent settings, I made Handcent my default program for MMS only (when it was default for both SMS and MMS, they didn't go through to MightyText). Hope this helps.
I also cannot send MMS/group message on the computer. I tried to install tweakker, but every time I run it, the app quits by itself... Any solution to this? I tried installing Handcent and making that the default for MMS, that did not help either.
I am running Kitkat on VZW HTC One.
I tried Hand (job) Cent but was not too impressed with the fact about when folks sent me MMS messages. It would want me download them.

It took me five minutes to figure out what all the settings mean and how they work. Maybe because I'm (23 years) old... too old for these tech gadgets. And MightyText still doesn't work for MMS/group message
I got mighty text working with MMS. You can't be on Wi-Fi at all with your device. It's slow, but it works when only on mobile data.

Doesn't work for me.
I installed Contacts+ and made it my default messaging app. Now MMS/group message works using MightyText.
MMS not sending MightyText/SGS4/Android 4.3
Hi
Did anyone come up with a solution to this as I'm hitting the same issue with my Samsung Galaxy S4 on Android 4.3? Everything else works really well - just cannot send MMS or Group messages (which I believe are sent as MMS too).
Have a support ticket open but ~2 weeks now and no reply.
Brian
I'm getting the messages on chrome telling me that its not connected and not working right. I have to keep resyncing them. Ahh it used to work so smooth.
Hello,
I am also running NOTE 3 and handcent with this issue. SMS works fine but MMS stopped working. it was all working fine on my Motorola RAZR HD XT925
going to test with other SMS tools and see what resulkts I get. Its a shame cause I really like handcent
So first let me say I have searched multiple sites and fourms on this question. Issue seems to be intermittent Mms wokrs perfectly when phone is initially power cycled. After a few messages mms or not then mms pictures stops working. The bizarre thing is I still get messages in mms format sent and received instantly. Gifs/pics is the issue only. I have checked the apn settings for the phone and textra and they match. I even tried "8080" for the port in both textra and the network settings. Issue seems to only happen after phone has ran for 45+ minuets. Please help as I use group messaging for a lot of my clients and friends. Thanks in advance.
P.s. I have the jedi x20 rom installed. I'll also be at work until 3 pm central time so I might not be able to try suggestions until then.
Double check the apn settings within system settings as well. Also make sure that 'activate mobile data' and use mms for group chats are on
I recently updated to 4.4.2 and rooted it as instructed in this post http://forum.xda-developers.com/gal.../rom-att-i317-ucucne5-mj4-stock-odex-t2802189. Ever since, MMS messages either hang forever or fail both with wifi on or off. I noticed this originally happening in Handcent, but have since uninstalled that and continue to have the same problem with the stock messenger. I have received MMS ok, but cannot send any. Any ideas?

Check your apn if your AT&T then it should be this
mmsc: http://mmsc.mobile.att.net
Proxy: proxy.mobile.att.net
Port: 80

Try another messaging app from the Play Store that worked for me
Sent from my SGH-I317 using XDA Free mobile app
Thank you
Thank you both for your replies. Sorry I didn't respond sooner, but I figured the problem out. I had installed adblock plus which messed up the network settings. I uninstalled that and went with AdAway instead which edits the host files versus rerouting the data. Everything is kosher again.
I've had my G3 awhile now and have always had problems with mms. Had an hour long talk with a bell tech not to long ago.. Got it to work.. (data would not work.. No Internet or anything). I was using textra at the time, now the only messaging app that works for me is textra. Even the stock app will not send mms nor will any others but the I have Internet. So that part works it just will not download or send any mms with any message app other then textra.
I'm baffled, I've tried everything I can think of and have read about. I've been through the APN settings about 3 times now.. Everything is correct there..not what what to do now.
This is on bell network with the International version (D855)
With no changes made to my AT&T Note 4, Textra started throwing this error up in the notification window:
Can't Get MMS
Check Textra>MMS>APN
In a group message, photos were being shared by 4 different people. The Textra icon shows that there are 68 unread messages, which I know can't be true. When I bring up the group thread, only a couple of the text messages are being shown. And I cannot get it to stop showing that there are new messages. I've used Textra for a couple years now and have never had any kind of problem. Searching the interwebs gave me no answers.
In Textra, the Carrier send limit is set to 600KB.
MMS Behavior is set to "Legacy".
Manually configure APN is set to off.
Stagefright protection is set to on.
I fI turn on the "manually configure APN'" toggle, these are the settings:
MMSC
http://mmsc.mobile.att.net
MMS Proxy
proxy.mobile.att.net
MMS Proxy Port
80
I have never changed any of these settings. I rebooted the phone twice with no luck. Any help would be appreciated.
Dave
Almost sounds like carrier issue to me. Otherwise I recommend uninstall Textra and make the default messages app the stock text app. Test that.
I uninstalled Textra and am back to the Samsung messaging app. All seems good. Although, I think that there are several pictures that never made their way to me from that group thread. Very odd. I have never had a problem like that before.
I get this issue like every other month. I really hate how much AT&T has ****ed this phone. Only stock apps seem to not have issues any other apps **** up constantly.
I have this exact same issue on an HTC 10 with AT&T. It only seems to happen after I get sent a MMS(mostly from my wife, who is also on AT&T, but that is where the vast majority of my texts come from) . If she resends the exact same photo a little later it will usually go through. I have the most current version of Textra(per the play store) and have the APN settings manually configured to the correct settings. This issue only happens to me once a week or so but it is driving me nuts. Rebooting doesn't seem to have an effect and it seems to stop incrementing the unread message count after awhile. It almost seems like AT&T is attemping to send an undeliverable MMS that gets stuck in an outgoing queue(until it eventually times out), and every resend attempt increments the Textra unread message count and kicks out a Textra MMS APN error message. Perhaps Textra says "Hey, we have a new unread message" when it first begins to receive the data, rather than after successfully receiving it? I dunno what is going on with it. Meanwhile, my stock messaging app doesn't see or do anything, it is oblivious. If anyone figures out how to fix it or what is really going on with it, please let us know. I think this is more carrier or textra related, as opposed to device specific.
Do you have an ad-blocker installed?
I thought I was the only one - I am also (currently) having this issue with Textra on AT&T (OnePlus 3). Has anyone figured out a fix? I love the app but that error message is incredibly annoying ... not to mention the fact that it pisses me off when I am missing pictures people are sending to me.
Contact the developer. I had a problem with Textra once (different issue) and they were prompt with suggestions for a for fix with the problems I was having.
I tried all kinds of messaging app on my Note 4: Textra, Google Messenger, Hangout, etc. They all didn't receive MMS at all and needed to revert back to the stock message app. It's funny though since I have no problem receiving MMS through Textra in my Axon Pro 7
