Dead Pixels - Moto 360

I have about 5...does anyone else have this issue?

I have 2 dead pixels

Pristine and unblemished here. Sorry for your loss.

I've got one dead pixel. Not too worried about it though.

Same here.

I got one :crying:...
I have another watch coming, I'm going to check that one and return the one with the most dead pixels.

One, but it just went away. Lucky me.

Haha no loss here...just seeing if others had the same experience. Thanks though!

Just picked up mine, one dead pixel.. Apparently the first batch is mostly defective

None.

I have 1. Google Play is in the process of replacing the watch. I reported it to them the day I received it.
Really disappointing to see this issue be so common.

i received two silvers from motorola today... two stuck green pixels on both, same mid/upper left location.

I have about 4 dead pixels, best buy is going to replace it. They ordered me another one and I'll just return my current watch when it comes in.

Numerous dead or stuck pixels all over. Just got it today, contacted Motorola (bought it straight from them) and got a full refund, a return label, and a 10% promo code to purchase a new one.

I had one dead pixel. Just returned mine yesterday.

So, a buddy of mine ordered ours together and we both wound up with dead/stuck pixels: His had 2, mine had 5.
We don't want to be without them and potentially get stuck waiting for a couple weeks, since we got the silver ones and they seem to be in high demand, but I think we might just have to return/exchange them. It sucks because if his Best Buy wasn't closing down relatively soon, we could hold on to our current ones until the new ones came in but they have orders to the store disabled meaning we'd have to return them right away and ship the replacements to his place.
This is why I rarely, if ever, buy first gen/first batch electronics.

Hmmmmm I have one dead pixel barely noticeable but it's there.. Tempted to exchange it but don't want more dead pixel there.....

None here, pristine. I'd go insane if I had dead pixels. Dead pixels are the worst to me. My eye gravitates to them every time. I have a few on my work monitor and it drives me insane but they wont' buy me a new monitor and its out of warranty.

I traded 3 total.... Every one had 1 or 2 idea pixel..... I gave up.....

So, to see the dead or stuck pixels is everyone setting the brightness on 5 and going to a black screen (such as the about screen under settings)?
When I do this, I see a few pixels at the top of the screen and one in the lower left that appear to be stuck? However, without turning up brightness and being in a dark room on a black screen, I see none. I also can't see the stuck pixels on any other screen except for the boot up screen or this black about screen.

Dead pixels?

Anyone else had a desire with a dead pixel yet? I picked mine up from cpw today. Unlocked with Orange pay as you go. For some reason the £10 credit would not top up as the systems were down so couldn't get an invoice for phone/credit. Got home and turned on.. Great.. Why do I always get dead pixels?!
Went straight back to cpw.. Thats fine have a new one! Really?? Your not going to argue with me for 10min about so many dead pixels is ok ect ect?!
Also as the top up system was still down they are refunded my £10 credit that I had to buy with the phone! So I got it for 395.99! Just about to start playing with it now!
cpw at Cribbs Bristol only got their first batch of 6 in today. One of which they have played with/demo, the 2nd of which has now been used/returned and I now have the 3rd. So they now have 3 left.
Sure it was dead pixels or dust under the screen ?

Quite possibly dust under screen. Didn't spend much time looking at it. Was straight back to the shop! Although this pink tint is annoying me now! lol
dead pixels crashing wildfire
hmm, i have what i think are 8 dead pixels on mine, its a month old. could be dust, didn't notice it for the first month.
on top of that, its continually crashing. it has a tmobile rom on it, seems a common occuracance for the wildfire on t mobile lame
not sure its worth the hassle to call up and get replacement

[Q] dead/stuck pixels, how common are they on the Defy??

Hi, I have my Defy for about a month and just now noticed 2 tiny stuck pixels of green/blue colour. They are actually visible only on black screen and in normal usage you can only find them if you know where they are, otherwise it only looks like a tiny particle of dust.
Since I only noticed it now it's too late for me to send it back
Have tried different software solutions and ran them over some nights, but nothing helped. So it seems they are permanent. I'm still on stock firwmare and havent flashed it yet.
It's sort of psychological thing... personally, I find it frustrating and it pisses me off because I know the problem is there and I have paid the full price for the phone to be perfect.
I was wondering how many of you experienced this and is there any chance that motorola would cover this problem under warrianty (in EU)?
My first Defy got a stuck pixel within the first week of me owning it. I phoned T-Mo and they sent me a replacement the next day. Before I did that though, I asked a T-Mo employee in one of their shops about it. He told me that if I couldn't get it sorted over the phone, to come back into the shop and they would help me get it replaced under warranty.
I don't really know how it all works but that was just my situation - hopefully it's of some use.
My defy that I just sold had two dead white pixels. One in the middle of the screen and one about the height of the volume rocker. Only visible on black screen though.

I have a question, what will happen if making brightness full and leaving it overnight? does it makes some difference to the LCD? or does this works?
nothing will help you trying to get rid of those yellow spots. They appear when phone gets warm and they disappear when phone gets cool, the only way to remove yellow tint is to send it back for a repair.
BTW, used phones got warranty too. But you have to have INVOICE/RECEIPT - any prove that you bought it in a legal way. Buying used phones is legal, but you should get some sort of proof.
If you are without warranty there is a posibility that you got your phone ilegally (stolen/ditched batch).
And one more thing - there are two types of HTC One X out there
1) TRADE ones - usualy they are cheaper with more problems (screen, yellow spots, bad tegra chip, hot as hell) and are usualy sold WW mostly via internet. Usualy they are some sort of "not so good at quality control but we (htc) need money so lets sell them for a lesser amount of money".
2) SELLING ones - they are more expensive and sold by official HTC distibuters and carriers. They have outstanding performance and build quality due to good quality control. But remember, some of SELLING ones can end up with TRADE batch so some might be lucky (I am sorry but AMAZON, EBAY, EXPANSYS have the TRADE ones so you will most likely have some problems with the phone.)

I got a yellow tint at the top of my screen about two weeks ago after having my One X for about 4 weeks. I noticed the phone was getting hot with just about anything I did i.e. using Facebook. I downloaded Dead Pixel Detect and Fix off Play Store, set the colour to yellow and put it on full brightness overnight. I also pressed gently on the affected area with the yellow tint and that helped "massage" the tint away a bit. The next morning it had pretty much gone and stayed away since.

OK, Now I have downloaded "Dead Pixel Detect and Fix" from Play Store, now what should I choose? There are 2 options.
"Fix It" and "Colour"
what should I do next to resolve yellow spots?
was ur issue resolved?
I had two one xs and both had yellow spots. In both phones it went away on its own.
Yellow Tint
I too had the Yellow Stains on the screen. Resolution "HTC replaced the screen". However they took 3 weeks for replacement as the parts were not available. Contrary they provided me +1Month of warranty on the phone.
I am using the replaced screen for 3 weeks now and i see a Yellow spot on the right bottom corner. Will be giving this to the service centre again this week.
I came to this forum to know why the spots occur in first place

had the yellow spot bottom left of screen, fridge trick seemed to work for a very short time, then I came to the fix (for me anyway) I had a rubber type skin/cover on the phone, I took it off and within an hour the yellow dot had disappeared, this may sound basic, but those of you with a protective case and a yellow dot, simply try it and see.

Stuck pixel... Opinions?

Alright so I found a stuck white pixel. It's only visible against a black background. And it's like the size of a flake of dust. Super, super tiny but now that I've noticed it I see it eveytime it's over a black background or image.
However, I was lucky enough to get a phone that has zero gap issues, and I've also already put a nice quality screen protector on it.
So my question is... Should I deal with it or exchange for a new One. It really is very tiny. I don't even have anything size wise to compare it to. I think even saying it's the size of a dust flake is too big... Also it's near the upper left corner sort of so it's not like it's in the middle of the screen.
Ps: I tried the stuck pixel fixer in the app store and it didn't do anything.
Opinions?
I'd take it back. I bought an LCD tv that had one pixel stuck as soon as I opened it up and turned it on it was off and boxed back up and exchanged. Imo it probably will be more likely to have more go out, not sure if it's true but I say exchange it.
I'm still debating. I think I'll give the store a call.
good luck finding a perfect electronic device. I know it used to be up to 3 "dead" pixels was considered ok by manufacturers. I think they've eased up though. I'd be worried about the replacement being worse.

since phone is so new u should get lucky and get one someone returned.
but this phone is the first i wouldnt want a refurb considering all the problems with taking it apart
Honestly imperfections happen. And something this minor just deal with it. When it comes down to it though its your call.

I wouldn't get a refurb, I'd get new. I'm friends with the manager of the corporate store, however... I think I'm just going to deal with it. I don't even notice it now unless I'm specifically looking for it against a black background, which is never lol

I think were still within 14 days so could get new
I am just noticing on the back of my phone that when facing down, on the right side it looks like a line running all the way down, kind of hard to explain, it's not a dent otherwise I'd be able to feed it.
hmm, I may go back to the store and check out the ones on the floor and maybe get a new one, but I also don't want to lose root. I am sure we will get it eventually and will be kicking myself in the rear, but.
I guess I may end up with a refurb! lol.
I send them back though until they are up to standards, I've send 3 back and they will keep sending you refurbs until you get one you consider up to par.
One time I got a refurb and the power button was so pushed it I literally couldn't use it, another time the vibration on the phone was so crazy high, like when pressing the soft keys it was cracked up on stock ROM somehow it was insane. the third time I got the phone and there was an issue with a speaker.
I have gone through many refurbs thought my smart phone days and I have to say they actually are *usually* good. The way that the HTC One is put together though scares me for a refurb, though.
Mine has that line too. It's like 1/3 inch thick looking, right? And very faint? And I've seen the same line in LOTS of pictures. I think it's just a manufacturing thing.

New dead pixels any one galaxy tab pro 8.4

I bought the tab pro 8.4 one month back, for 200usd from best buy. At that time i noticed that there was one dead pixel in upper right side. I thought meh....1 dead pixel wont hurt any one. During the last one month i noticed 5 more dead pixels in different places an thought that may be they were there on the first place. Now yesterday i noticed a new dead pixel which clearly wasnt there the day before. Now i am worried. I am not in USA any more. So claiming warranty is out of question for me. But i thought that new dead pixels dont usually appear. I always use my stuff with extreme care. So any physical damage causing the dead pixels is out of the question. So my thread is for three purposes. First two warn anyone looking to buy it. As i believe samsung have used some below average panels here. Second i would like to ask others, if they have had similar experience of new dead pixels appearing or, i am the only unlucky one. And finally, should i try to get rid of it.

What do the dead pixels look like?, do they look like tiny air bubbles* ? if they do this is actually caused by certain types of "clip cases" that put pressure on the side(s)/edge(s) of the tablet causing the screen to lift up slowly overtime (even the Samsung official Book Cover case will cause it, like it did with mine!)
Check out this older post I made here to see if it is a similar issue you have.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=55477066#post55477066
If this is similar to your issue then you are in luck perhaps, I found out there is a solution to this issue and it's mostly a simple fix, First is to remove it from the Case you have it in and let it sit the bubbles* should go away in a few days on their own hopefully but do not use the same case again it will make them come back in the same spots....find another type of case to use like the Minisuit Rubber Hard Case (I think its like $6 on amazon, it's what I use and it's been great) or use something that holds from top of the screen and not the sides....
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00I0BM022
**I don't know if bubbles is the right term since I don't think they are fluid I think it's actually glue or something else.
Sadly mine isnt the same issue as yours. Its actual dead pixels. And i use the tab in a folio book cover. This one to be precise http://www.amazon.com/CORNER-PROTEC...s=fintie+corner+protection+galaxy+tab+pro+8.4 . The only thing i did before noticing them was apply a glass screen protector, which made the tab a tight fit inside the cover. So your tab has zero dead pixel i guess. Seems like i got a melon then.
