Hey Gurus,
I have a an Xperia M Phone which got wet, I guess… it wont charge anymore…
What I need now are the telephonenumbers of this phone from the internal storge.
It's not mine, I store on google, of course…
Is there a way to get them? I could not found any blueprints, if its just an internal SD-Card or so…(if yes, how to access the numbers?)
Pls help or give my some hints,
Thanx,
tom

Yea your numbers should be backed up to your google account if you had one in the first place that is
Sorry but I dont know much about the phone apart from a screen replacement I did recently
The phone its self is easy enough to take apart and dismantle but as to where the sd card is located your on your own
Again the numbers your looking for should be backed up to your account
which if you put in to another phone will be automatically there for you

Am after a copy of all the files that were on the UK Desire Z SD Card when shipped.
Did anyone taken a backup of their SD Card out the box?
Apologies if this has been posted before - Did a search and couldn't come up with anything...
Chairs.
I am also highly interested
I think the only real "content" that you may have lost are the HTC Navigation pre-loaded maps. The user manuals and HTC Sync are on there too, but these can easily be downloaded.
The UK phones come with maps for the UK, Ireland and France.

Thanks Mr Weavie.
Doesn't HTC Navigation use Google Maps though?
I am running the Virtuous ROM atm and have wiped the SD Card and it still works fine... or am I missing something?

No, HTC Navigation has its own maps on the SD card. Which is good because it doesn't matter if you have a signal or not. However, the downside is you have to pay if you want to use the navigation.
Google Maps is a totally separate application. So it downloads the maps as you go, so you need a signal. But the navigation is free.
You might have lost HTC Navigation, I have no idea if it is built into Virtuous (maybe it is there, since it's a Sense ROM ?). But if you wiped the SD card you will have lost all the data for Navigation, e.g. the maps themselves.

Neither do I. The MicroSD card I got with the phone hasn't even been used. I replaced it with a 16GB MicroSD from the start.

If it was a Desire Z, your factory-supplied HTC card would have had some stuff on it, particularly those maps for HTC Navigation. If you don't use HTC Navigation though, that won't matter.
So.... does anyone have a copy of these maps or know where I can obtain them?

You have a Desire Z and had them originally ? If so then I will upload a copy of my Navigation directory from my SD card, and PM you the address for download (I'm not going to post them up directly for everyone, because that's going to get into the area of warez).

Yes, original Desire Z bought from Carphone Warehouse. I upgraded the SD Card to 16GB but copied all of what I thought was on there but did so under Ubuntu and I wasn't showing hidden files/folders (doh! schoolboy error I know).
If you could Mr Wevie (Can I call you Stevie?), that would be grand!

I don't mind too much what you call me, as long as it's not too rude lol.
Yeah, the Navigation stuff is in a directory called ".data", and as you might have seen, when it starts with a dot it's effectively hidden unless you use the right options.
The file is pretty big, it's about 900 MB. Uploading it now (it's going to take a long time !).

Thanks mate, you are a star!
I too am in need of the data for the maps, unfortunately the laptop I backed my SD card on, had an old HDD which died on me on the night after I rooted my Desire Z after I had flashed it.
It would really make my day if you could PM the data to me, I've recently moved to a new neighbourhood and before I rooted my phone I would greatly rely on the offline maps on my phone to help to me to get to places.

Hi guys,
anyone's who's read my posts would know my phone died recently due to zero battery and going through the boot loop cycle continuously. After leaving it overnight for 2 days on a iPad charger, it came back on again. My phone's done a hard reset, and I was wondering if there are any softwares available to retrieve the information in it. I know there're tools to retrieve information from hard drives that have been formatted, and would appreciate if any of you know of a tool that can get my photos out of my phone. Thanks in advance.

Well, that greatly depends on how thorough you're hoping this will be. Anything synced through Zune should be available, anything replicated to the cloud should be available (Windows Live ID, if you have an exchange server, Facebook and LinkedIn accounts, etc.) - but any game data is pretty much lost. In general, any applications that store info locally is pretty much lost AFAIK.
There's an application in Marketplace called Reinstaller that identifies apps you've already installed and helps you loop through them to, well, surprise surprise, re-install them. It's quite useful, here's the link in the Marketplace: http://www.windowsphone.com/en-US/search?q=Reinstaller
What other things were you looking for?

Thanks for the reply. My phone ran out of juice pretty much right after my trip to Taiwan, where I took quite a few photos. I didn't have time to sync it with my computer before it died. It's those photos I wish to retrieve. Any other suggestions?
My buddy who has an iPhone told me that in order to retrieve information from the iPhone, it needs to first be jailbreaked. That way we can bypass the phone's OS and connect to the hard drive directly. Obviously it's a long shot as any software would still need to retrieve what's been formatted over, but I wonder if it holds true in our case as well. Will I need to 'jailbreak' my phone first?

He's in the right place, just because this is a Lumia 900 forum doesn't mean he can't use the i-word He has specified that it is possible on the iPhone, and is curious if it can be done on the Lumia. Seems like the perfect place for him to me...

Thanks again, eknuston.
I did a search online, and came across 2 photo recovery tools, which spelt out were meant for the Lumia 900.
The Stellar Phoenix Photo Recovery
http://android-photo-recovery.com/tutorials/recover-deleted-photos-videos-from-nokia-lumia-900.html
Photo Recovery Pro
http://android-photo-recovery.com/tutorials/recover-deleted-photos-videos-from-nokia-lumia-900.html
Unfortunately, both tools could not recognize our phones in the drive directory. That's when I realized that Windows 7 does not allow our phones to be used as removable drives.
I've since cracked the registry (using this tutorial)
http://www.mobiletechworld.com/2010/11/18/use-your-windows-phone-7-device-as-a-portable-usb-drive/
My computer could recognize the phone, but the directories were empty. So I installed this:
http://www.mobiletechworld.com/2010/11/18/use-your-windows-phone-7-device-as-a-portable-usb-drive/
and I can now access the current files in my phone.
HOWEVER, I STILL AM UNABLE TO RETRIEVE THE ERASED FILES, as the 2 softwares are still unable to recognize the phone as a drive, despite the fact that the file explorer can.
Does anyone have any ideas on what I should do next (other than forget about the files, get a new phone, etc.). Any help will be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
I forgot to mention that 'Computer Management' under Window's Administrative Tools, can't find the phone too. I suspect they're linked..
4th link?
Did you mean for the 4th link to be the same as the 3rd? I am trying to follow your steps to see if I can access my files but I am not sure what did you install in order to see your current files after the registry change. Thanks.
Formatted data recovery
Hi
You can recover formatted data using best media recovery software. Using this software I was able to restore digital data from formatted usb flash drive. So, you can download demo version of this software and check it.
For more details visit the website - unformatdata.com
Hey guys, just stop posting BS about "flash drive recovery"...
Lumia 900 isn't a flash drive and can't be restored this way (it works via Zune drivers, and shows not an actual "drive" but just some "virtual folders").
Finalizing: MCChang, you can't recover lost pics or any other info. And I can give the only one suggestion: next time if you want to keep your pics/info, use clouds (WP7 have ability to automatically upload pictures to the SkyDrive).

Good Afternoon,
Does anyone on here know a way on how to transfer my pictures and files or manage them even when my screen is competly blank? I already talked to the T mobile store, customer service, tech support, Samsung, and CPR Cell phone repair they all said that there is no way. My computer still recognizes my phone when I plug it in but when I click the file on my computer it is blank, so it seems if I haveto change the settings.
P.S. they are saved to my hard drive not my memory.
Thank you in advance.
From the external SD card yes but the internal no unless u get a new screen

Give the androidlost app a try. I can't seem to get it working since I upgraded phones, but it's worth a try. It allows remote installation of the app somehow, and has an option to view phone content once installed.
Hi everyone
I have a strange problem with my xperia M. Somewhen today the Play Store and some other apps crashed so I decided to reboot. The last reboot is about thre days ago. After startup i got a starnge screen asking me for a password to unlock the storage. I have absoltely no idea what this screen is as I have never seen it before. I attatched a screenshot of the phone.
I have never entered a password to encrypt the data on that device. After trying around a bit I called the sony support. They told me to reset the phone using the sony software. But doing this will delete all my data
What I can do to get my data back? And why is my phone suddenly encrypted?
I use Stock ROM think it was 4.2.1 or something. Locked Bootloader not rooted.
Rgds
gentooMueLLe
edit:The time shown on the password screen is not my local time. this is also a litlle bit strange to me
I think, you might have messed up in "Encrypt your phone".
I don't see any way to get out of it, still wait for some expert to give a solution.
Are you really sure that nobody accidentally encrypted your phone? This are bad news, as far as I know, unless you discover that password, the only way to fix that will be wiping your device =/
Hi folks
thanks for your replies. I am absolutely sure that I have not actively encrypted the device. I think the process of encryption takes several hours what I should have recognized.
Is it possible that some kind of virus has encrypted the device?

Thats also my oppinon. for that reason I dont have virus protection software or something similar on my device. As I even have not installed anything since the last reboot I cant imagine that there is a virus on my phone.
Is it possible to encrypt the device remote. I think my google account was hacked, as my password was not valid anymore....
I have never thougt about encryption, so I dont know much about this topic.
Thanks for your help
is there any solution yet?
I know this thread almost 3 years posted, but I really need to know about how to decrypt it. My friend has an encrypted C2004 and I'm interested to make her phone be mine. Do you guys here have any idea? thx in advance.
It is a faulty nand memory, solution is replacing the board
I've sat my phone on top of a car and forgot it was there and now the car is gone and the phone is not there it's still on and working with cell signal but I don't have location services turned on please I need help locating it and it has a custom rom on it making it a i9505 so it wouldn't let me install plan b on it and activate location through text PLEASE REPLY SOON AS POSSIBLE this phone has very important documents and other things that I do not want to lose or erase! Thank you!
the phone most likely fell off unless you had one hell of a grippy case or it was in the bed of a pickup, I'm not too sure what you could do however, did you try scouting the general area of the car? do you have any backups?
The phone was found and in terrible condition... it was ran over a few times with the case on and it still didnt make it.Its destroyed but i did recover my sd card and sim card; i just cant get access to my internal storage which i really needed.
