A couple of days ago, a notification to update SPDClient appeared in Galaxy App Store (Samsung Apps). But what is this app for, and what does the update do? The descriptions does not show any relevant information and there are many comments asking what does this app do.
Does anyone know about this app?

It tells you in the app description what it is.

I also got that and was little afraid of updating, worrying if Samsung trying to sneak some security update for Knox, or root discovery etc.(I'm stock rooted). But it seems to be internal driver related to data exchange over networks, possibly updated due to new hardware like VR or S-watch. I updated it now, so in case I buy Samsung watch or some other new hardware in near future, I won't go crazy wondering why it doesn't work, since once you decline the update, usually doesn't come back anymore.

Since Microsoft first released Windows Phone 7, I convinced my self to "NOT BUY" the very first release because I know and I think most of us knows that a few months or weeks, an improved version will be available.. Well probably upgrading a ROM is the answer but anyway, my few suggestions to improve some navigations.
A like to suggest in horizontal panning effect which I think is a very nice and beautiful. But to improve the navigation, here are some my suggestion.

Ok. So another one would be, in Application List navigation.
also posted in my blog site

To be honest, those are nice concepts. I can easily see the Application list getting changed to allow grid support. Can't say much about the other.
FYI Windows Phone 7 is going to be very easy to update. It has a real updater unlike Windows Mobile. You wont have to flash a rom and wipe out all your apps and settings to get OS updates anymore. At least thats what Microsoft is claiming.

the question is, will it be "free" ? which I don't believe it will.
and if not .. well most of us I think will still swim around this kind of site for free upgrade, patched ROMs that we will still injecting in our phone's vains
EDIT:
-- ok, so hopefully it will be free like Windows OS
another suggestion would be
Bing search results.
Will it be nice to search inside your phone too such as Contacts, Applications, Calendar, and files? here's the preview.
Has anyone else experienced issues with the GPS having a hard time locating after the update? It used to work flawlessly on 402 but now it's pretty much worthless.

GPS has been normal for me since update. Just checked with the GPS test app and it located just fine.

Went into the app's settings > "Update AGPS" and it improved to this:
GPS fine here. And there.

GPS works fine for me here. I'm on stock 4.0.4 yakju rooted. I think GPS initialization is even faster than 4.0.3 (EBMod)
Fine for me too. Faster locking actually. Are you using a custom rom, kernel?
No, completely stock and not rooted. Maybe it's just my imagination, just seems like before the update it worked great and now it can't find me. Even did my update ota.

I too have found myself with the location problem... Maps Google+ Facebook location based features do not work. I have however noticed that when you switch down to 2G it locates fine. I dont know if its data stored in that partition thats causing it maybe, if any devs can chime in and the help would be greatly appreciated.
Rooted running latest Gummy rom and Baseband I9250UGLC1
Just an update after troubleshooting I stopped by a T-Mobile store and had my sim card replaced and that did it for me. Once its replaced make sure you cycle off and on a few times.

Interesting, I'll have to try the new sim card thing. Thanks for the heads up.

As usual, a better description of your problem would be way more helpful that:
does anybody have seen this.
But I guess you are missing some displaying of icons.
Though I have not that many experiances with geh Google Nexus, I would guess it's an hardware error of the graphic chip. (If it's a stock ROM)
Else there could be a problem with the graphic driver.(of a Custom Rom)
My apologies for the vague question. But thanks for the input. Those 'black boxes' were my widgets and folders. I'm running a completely bone stock GSM phone from the Play Store with the new 4.1.1 OTA update.
Everything seems to be back to normal now that I did a reset. Should I think about doing a warranty service?
Sent from my Nexus 7 using xda premium
Did you try a reboot and did it change anything? Or did you go straight for a reset (=reset to default or reinstalling?)
How long did Android run? (I ask because I know of an Issue of Windows (which might not be true for any Linux/Andoid/Unix system, still.....)
e.g. there was (is (?) a problem once Windows runs out of memory. then it stops displaying Icons correctly. but in such a situation it was also very, very slow but a reboot helped

NO!
looks like a software issue.. there is nothing for warranty to repair..
@dna99 - Wrong choice of word, I performed a soft reset(reboot) not a complete reset. I'm not sure how long android was running for didn't check before I rebooted the phone. I can believe that (running low on memory).
@pdx - Thanks for the advice.

My phone just got a notification that it was downloading a software update from AT&T. It then asked me to restart and now it's 50% done updating.
Just wondering what the update does? Anyone know?
Got the notification, haven't done it

Same here. Have no idea what it is. I'm coming up empty on Google too.
Yup, installed earlier, only thing I have noticed is the stagefright fix.

Apps are always optimized after an update.

The apps that are impacted by the update are. 178's a pretty low number but the update was only 80(ish)MB. Going from 4.X to 5.X my Note 12 optimized 600+ apps on restart. Services are considered apps too. Right after I rebooted Play Services updated itself too. To 8.1.15.

It's an app, here is what you would have seen before the update
Got mine too. Updated and poked around the settings and features to see if Samsung added anything that they removed from the Note 4. Nothing so far.
I also checked to see if the aggressive task killing stopped. I'm getting a consistent 6 apps staying loaded after some tests, previously it was four or five depending on whats open. Anyone else notice this?
I just updated and Googled idk.
There's a thread in the general section. Looks like the update fixed the wireless charging issue many of us were having as well as improving performance a bit.

I just updated my T-Mobile Tab s4 to Pie. I was hoping the Tab S5e message and calling feature would come to this tablet. Well, it did, but is blocked. It is baked into the Pie update and alive on the tablet (see screenshot), i just cannot access it. Any savvy geniuses out there want to get this figured out?
Any luck?
Could you flash an international ROM possibly? I'm not sure exactly what would be compatible or not.
I have a SMT835N and recently tried a Sprint ROM and Phone ability was removed. I am wondering if the same limitation is applied across US carriers and if that limitation is not present in international versions.
Hi. Your post doesn't show any screenshot. How do I get there? I have the Wi-Fi version.

Call and message continuity (as far as I know) didn't get added to the S4. Maybe for the LTE versions, but my US wifi model doesn't even have the option. Can you post a screenshot of what you're seeing?
I'm not seeing it on my T-Mobile S4 at all...
My UK Wifi Tab S4 got Continuity with the Pie update, but I was only able to use it when my S10+ received an update this week.
Screenshots?
My tab s4 does not have call option with any update
I found something potentially interesting. I'm not sure about the inner workings of Call and Message Continuity, but it seems like it might be an apk? There is an app with that name on apkmirror. I downloaded and tried to install it but it just says install failed..... If that's all that's needed maybe it needs to be a system app?
