Hello guys,
I'm using a google nexus 7 4.4.4 KitKat version, is it worth it to root? And if yes, which root is the most efficient and is stable?

Hello
A relative asked me to "fix" his nexus and flash a kitkat rom.
I don't know this phone at all, so I am looking for the most stable and then fast/lightweight 4.4.2 rom for this phone.
Any help?
Thanks in advance.

Liquidsmooth.in my opinion. Fast/smooth/exellent battery with Mopank Superram kernel and have the most and top notch features. Of course you can try others just to experience them yourself.
If you want stable: stock. If you want a kitkat rom: any 4.4 rom. Just try them and if you dont want to then stick with stock.

Hey all,
Does anyone know of an easy root that will work with the latest OTA updated KVT49L build?
I had high hopes and downloaded the Unified Android toolkit, but this build is not listed here.
Any ideas?
Thanks,
Matt

First you need to unlock the bootloader and install a custom recovery http://m.youtube.com/watch?v=6k4rCaMPSQ8
Then you can flash a root zip http://m.youtube.com/watch?feature=youtu.be&v=yTdUd-jlbP0

Any recommendations please for a kit kat ROM with the stock touchwiz interface? Will be giving these away as a gift so I just need a stable ROM that just works!
Cheers

You can flash the ROM NoleKat v1.8 (4.4.2) is stable, see this post. http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-tab-3/development-7/rom-port-nolekat-v1-0-T210R-t2837338
I prefer the Dragon Gaming Rom v5(at the moment the most current version) as it runs very smooth on my T210

If you have a rooted nexus you'll have to flash a pre rooted rom in order to upgrade and keep root. Ota will not work.

How did you root your nexus?

Go to the Asus section of these forums--there is a Nexus 7 (2013) forum. In the Android Development section there is a rooted flashable 5.0.2 ROM by scrosler.

I think with lates boot loader Qi5, you can not downgrade. Otherwise, you can.
