[Q] KVT49L Build: Easy Root? - Nexus 7 (2013) Q&A

Hey all,
Does anyone know of an easy root that will work with the latest OTA updated KVT49L build?
I had high hopes and downloaded the Unified Android toolkit, but this build is not listed here.
Any ideas?
Thanks,
Matt

First you need to unlock the bootloader and install a custom recovery http://m.youtube.com/watch?v=6k4rCaMPSQ8
Then you can flash a root zip http://m.youtube.com/watch?feature=youtu.be&v=yTdUd-jlbP0

Clockwork or the ROM?

Does flashing CM10.2 work with the latest AT&T 4.1.2 bootloader?

Has anyone flashed CM10.2 using the latest bootloader from the AT&T 4.1.2 update? I've read where you need the 4.1.1 bootloader in order to flash previous AOSP-based roms.

CM implemented the latest bootloaders in the updater script during the 10.1 nightlies about a month ago.

How to update (pacman)

Hi there
A beginner question.. I guess there will be kitkat versions of pacman sooner or later and I wondered how the best way to upgrade would work.
There are already packages for the new apps, I assume this is the same as the "gapps" package I installed when installing pacman.
- is it possible to install the new gapps now already?
- how to upgrade pacman once it's there and does this reset my settings or is there a better process?
Thanks a lot, I'm a bit confused

You can't install the new gapps yet because we don't have 4.4 update yet. As for updating pacrom, you can read op in the pacrom thread.

TWRP also will ask you if you want it to root when rebooting into Android

Which rom should I use

Hello guys,
I'm using a google nexus 7 4.4.4 KitKat version, is it worth it to root? And if yes, which root is the most efficient and is stable?
