I install CWM 6027 with Recovery method.
Everything went well until i want to start my Samsung Gio GT-S5660. When starting, it keeps hanging in Samsung animation and repeat that animation. I can stop that by removing my battery. And try to start again. (Bootloop)
I can start in recovery mode and see a proper CWM-based Recovery v6.0.2.7 screen and there is a menu as this:
- reboot system now
- install zip from sdcard
- install zip from sideload
- wipe data/factory reset
- wipe cash partition
- backup and restore
- mounts and storage
- advanced
Before i started to put that CWM 6027, my phone was root (succes show rootchecker) and link2sd was installed and there was partition to use link2sd well. My phone was working well but cannot start now. For CWM, i download from here ******* mediafire.com/ download/lhnpax6bsra58x5/cwm-6.0.2.7-ItachiSan-ext4only.zip
What can i do now coz i want that upgrade to cyanogenmod 10.1
Plse help.
I am from the netherlands so excuse me for my english.

Hi,
i'm posting this separately cos i wanted to clearly highlight all the steps i have taken which doesn't appear to be the same as the other posts.
i successfully rooted the phone via unrevoked.
i was attempting to load the following ROM:
[ROM] Pays-ROM Desire Sense v2.3 A2SD++ BraveSoul WLAN N + Tether [12th July 2010] - xda-developers
steps given:
-You need ROOT access to flash this ROM.
-Put your Desire in Recovery Mode
-Fully wipe Data and Cache / wipe Dalvik-cache / wipe SD:ext (with AM Desire Recovery)
-Flash latest ROM from SD Card and if you like it
i think in my naivety i've done something i wasn't supposed to.
i went into recovery:
1. wipe data/factory reset - completed (just thought i'll also mention that i can't see 'dalvik cache'. it just says 'user data')
2. wipe cache partition - completed (i don't think i was supposed to do that )
3.install ZIP from SD card - successful
4. reboot
this reboots into the carrier's splash screen and its just stuck there.
i've tried turning the phone off/on (by removing the battery)
i don't think i made a successful backup every time i try 'back up and restore > restore' it says:
'couldn't find clockworkMod Recovery [version number]
couldn't open directory.
no files found.
please help!
right now i'll take any rom that would easily load without having to do to much..thanks!!
desperately awaiting a reply..
That rom is incredibly outdated. If you boot in to recovery what name do you see? Also do you have a ext partition on the sd?
If you just want to install a rom to get it booting again, install leedroid nonA2SD.
Sent from my HTC Desire using XDA Premium App
Erm, i just get mine HTC One X, but unfortunately i think i root fail, and ... install a custom ROM without backup previous official ROM, now my phone is DEAD Cannot be boot, just show the ANDROID on the screen ... help me T.T, sorry for my BAD EnGlIsh
You killed it! Whyyyyyy?
I think you will find an answer here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1609190

Hello to all,
I have try to install the [ROM][CM10.1.4] - modded - [stable-20130826] - OTA.
I follow every step as requested in the post
•Boot into CWM Recovery -> OK
•Wipe data/factory reset -> OK
•Format /System -> OK
•Install zip from SD card / choose ROM zip from SD card ->OK
•After installation reboot system now -> OK
•1st Boot take about 3 - 5 minutes (caches are generated in this time) -> This step never boot wait make all the process again and nothing.
I have read a lot of threads in the fórum and discover that I should wipe the Dalkiv Cache. I try to make that in CWM recobery but when I choose that menu the menu disapear in a few second's automaticly and I can't say yes to wipe the Dalvik Cache.
Already take out the baterry rpeat all the steps 3 or 4 times and always the same even with another ROM. I have not tryed with OTA ROM.
I think not sure the problem is with the Dalvik cache I try to wipe in adb mode (in CWM recovery) but I can´t find the correct comand (some of the lines start with "su") but this line don't work.
Some one could help me? I try to make the phone better and now I don't have phone.
Hope some one copuld help me I really need the phone.
Thanks in advance for your support.
Best Regards

Problem fixed.
I have installed the CWM with 4ext + rfs and that version don't let me wipe Dalvik Cache.
I have installed the CWM only with 4ext, and the problem's are solved.
Don't understand really why but already can install custom ROM.
Thanks any way.

redownload the recovery zip and put it onto your sd card and try again. also which cwm you are trying to flash?
1. Download cwm 5.0.2.8 or 6.0.3.2 by mmb team
2. Flash it
3. Reboot to recovery
4. Download ext4 formatter script and put it to your sd card
5. In cwm choose install zip fr sd card, choose zip from sd card, and flash it(you must do it, because you have rfs file system already
6. In cwm choose install zip from sd card, choose zip from sd card, and flash the rom what you want to use
7. Reboot your phone and wait...

I have searched for solutions/guides about 9 hours now and yet I am not sure how to proceed. My problem is following:
I'm attempting to install CM 10.1 + Gapps in Samsung Galaxy Ace 2 GT-i8160 as instructed here [ROM][4.2.2][TeamCanjica] CyanogenMod 10.1.
Details:
Phone: Samsung Galaxy Ace 2 GT-i8160
Firmware: GT-I8160 NEE I8160XXMG2 (Nordic)
OS: Android JB 4.1.2
I have succesfully rooted the phone (e.g. Superuser and Titanium backup running on the phone) by these steps [GUIDE] Root Your Samsung Galaxy Ace 2 GT-I8160 [GB and JB].
Steps (Jelly Bean with Stock Kernel):
First, Put the SuperSU Flashable Zip to your SD Card.
Boot into Recovery Mode (Volume Up + Home + Power)
Flash the CWM from stock recovery.
Flash the SuperSU Flashable Zip from CWM recovery.
Wait.
Choose "Reboot System Now"
Tadaa, now you have a rooted phone.

Here is a list of things what I have done:
- Downloaded CWM 6 by Shaaan from http://d-h.st/oZD
- Moved the zip file to external SD card via USB cable
- Downloaded SuperSU-v1.86
- Moved SuperSU-v1.86 zip file to external SD card via USB cable
- Turned phone power off
- Turned on Android recovery mode by pressing simultaneously volume up button, home button and power button
- In Android recovery mode I chose option "install zip file from SD card"
- Installed SuperSU-v1.86 from zip file (using Android recovery mode)
- Installed CWM 6 by Shaaan (using Android recovery mode)
After I finished installing CWM 6 it switched from Android recovery mode to CWM automatically.
- I chose option "reboot now" (using CWM 6)
My phone booted normally, SuperSU 1.86 was installed and I was able to run it. I also tested to run Titanium backup to ensure that my phone is rooted.
At this stage I turned power off from phone and entered again back to Android recovery mode. Since CWM 6 by Shaaan is temporary I had to install it again from zip file. When I am using CWM and choose option "install zip file from SD card" it shows up the following error message:
E: can’t mount /sd card
I tried to format external SD card using Windows quick format. I set the file system to FAT32 and block size 4096. Then I copied CWM zip file back to external SD card, run it and tried to choose option "install zip file from SD card" again but I still received the same error as described above.
So my phone should be rooted at this stage but I'm not sure how I should proceed. One possible solution is attempt to install CM 10.1 + Gapps using Android recovery mode. I haven't tried out this yet because I'd not rather see my phone get bricked.
My questions are listed below:
1. Am I missing something, should I install something in other way?
2. Would it be safe to attempt install CM 10.1 + Gapps using Android recovery mode?
3. Should I perform factory reset and dalvik wipe before trying to install CM 10.1 + Gapps in Android recovery mode?
4. Is it necessary to use CWM? Should I use some other version of it?
4. Yes it is.
Try Reflash official firmware, use temp cwm 6 again and see.

2: it's "safe" as it will fail before it starts replacing your OS with one that "Android system recovery (3e)" will accept :silly:
3: before or after is generally the same (when it's not, do it first) as long as you do it and wiping data+cache includes dalvik as it's either all in cache or split between the two
Maybe try putting the zips in the USB storage then select in CWM "install from storage">"internal sdcard" (the last option)...
