I have searched for solutions/guides about 9 hours now and yet I am not sure how to proceed. My problem is following:
I'm attempting to install CM 10.1 + Gapps in Samsung Galaxy Ace 2 GT-i8160 as instructed here [ROM][4.2.2][TeamCanjica] CyanogenMod 10.1.
Details:
Phone: Samsung Galaxy Ace 2 GT-i8160
Firmware: GT-I8160 NEE I8160XXMG2 (Nordic)
OS: Android JB 4.1.2
I have succesfully rooted the phone (e.g. Superuser and Titanium backup running on the phone) by these steps [GUIDE] Root Your Samsung Galaxy Ace 2 GT-I8160 [GB and JB].
Steps (Jelly Bean with Stock Kernel):
First, Put the SuperSU Flashable Zip to your SD Card.
Boot into Recovery Mode (Volume Up + Home + Power)
Flash the CWM from stock recovery.
Flash the SuperSU Flashable Zip from CWM recovery.
Wait.
Choose "Reboot System Now"
Tadaa, now you have a rooted phone.

Here is a list of things what I have done:
- Downloaded CWM 6 by Shaaan from http://d-h.st/oZD
- Moved the zip file to external SD card via USB cable
- Downloaded SuperSU-v1.86
- Moved SuperSU-v1.86 zip file to external SD card via USB cable
- Turned phone power off
- Turned on Android recovery mode by pressing simultaneously volume up button, home button and power button
- In Android recovery mode I chose option "install zip file from SD card"
- Installed SuperSU-v1.86 from zip file (using Android recovery mode)
- Installed CWM 6 by Shaaan (using Android recovery mode)
After I finished installing CWM 6 it switched from Android recovery mode to CWM automatically.
- I chose option "reboot now" (using CWM 6)
My phone booted normally, SuperSU 1.86 was installed and I was able to run it. I also tested to run Titanium backup to ensure that my phone is rooted.
At this stage I turned power off from phone and entered again back to Android recovery mode. Since CWM 6 by Shaaan is temporary I had to install it again from zip file. When I am using CWM and choose option "install zip file from SD card" it shows up the following error message:
E: can’t mount /sd card
I tried to format external SD card using Windows quick format. I set the file system to FAT32 and block size 4096. Then I copied CWM zip file back to external SD card, run it and tried to choose option "install zip file from SD card" again but I still received the same error as described above.
So my phone should be rooted at this stage but I'm not sure how I should proceed. One possible solution is attempt to install CM 10.1 + Gapps using Android recovery mode. I haven't tried out this yet because I'd not rather see my phone get bricked.
My questions are listed below:
1. Am I missing something, should I install something in other way?
2. Would it be safe to attempt install CM 10.1 + Gapps using Android recovery mode?
3. Should I perform factory reset and dalvik wipe before trying to install CM 10.1 + Gapps in Android recovery mode?
4. Is it necessary to use CWM? Should I use some other version of it?
4. Yes it is.
Try Reflash official firmware, use temp cwm 6 again and see.

2: it's "safe" as it will fail before it starts replacing your OS with one that "Android system recovery (3e)" will accept :silly:
3: before or after is generally the same (when it's not, do it first) as long as you do it and wiping data+cache includes dalvik as it's either all in cache or split between the two
Maybe try putting the zips in the USB storage then select in CWM "install from storage">"internal sdcard" (the last option)...

How to install Custom Gummy ROM on Droid Razr M (XT907) on Android 4.4.2
Requirements:
Must have Root (4.4.2)
Must have unlocked Boot Loader (motopocalypse)
Flashed TWRP Recovery from AP FastBoot
Files you will need:
Gummy-M3.0-08-22-14-NIGHTLY-moto_msm8960.zip (download from Team Gummy ROM via Play Store or google)
gapps-kk-20131208-no_set_metadata.zip (Google Apps for KK, find it by searcing "gapps-kk-20131208-no_set_metadata.zip")
Step 1: Place files on SD Card and Enter TWRP Recovery
Connect your device to your computer and make sure USB Debugging is enabled
Copy the files to your SD Card (make sure it is on SD card)
Hold down Power + Vol Up + Down
Select Recovery Mode from BootLoader by using the Vol Down Button then select Recovery by clicking Vol Up
Since you have TWRP recovery flashed on your device you should enter TWRP Recovery
Step 2: The Necessities
When you enter TWRP Recovery make sure you go over to Back Up (make sure everything is checked), then slide to backup.
Click back, and go over to wipe, and slide Factory Reset.
After Factory Reset, go back and go over to Mount, and MAKE SURE that SYSTEM is CHECKED! (you will fail the installation if you don't)
Step 3: Flashing Gummy and GAPPs
Go over to install and go to the directory of your SD and find where you put your ROM's
Select Gummy-M3.0-08-22-14-NIGHTLY-moto_msm8960.zip and slide to install (wait for it to finish, may take a bit)
After you have flashed Gummy you will need to install GAPPs. So locate gapps-kk-20131208-no_set_metadata.zip and slide to install (this is very fast)
After you have install both Gummy and GAPP's reboot your device and you should have Gummy installed along with Google Apps and you should be running Android 4.4.4 on your Droid Razr M (XT907)
Hello all, I've done a lot of search on Google about my problem but find nothing so I hope someone can help me.
I own a rooted S3 (Bell i747). I installed some stock ROM using ODIN. As I didnt find any ODIN compatible ROM, I tryed to install CM12.1 using the following procedure:
1.You have to download the CM 12.1 custom ROM file on your computer; also, you have to download Google Apps package – you can get the Android 5.1 Lollipop update from here while the Google Apps package can be downloaded from this page.
2.Save both files on your computer but don’t unzip the packages.
3.Connect your AT&T Galaxy S3 with your PC by plugging in the USB cable and then transfer the downloaded files on your phone’s SD card.
4.Remove the USB cord and power off your phone before doing anything else.
5.Good; now enter recovery mode on your Android device.
6.Remember to make a hard reset and to clear cache before loading the ROM – select “wipe data factory reset” followed by “wipe cache partition” and by “wipe dalvik cache”.
7.Then, from main menu of recovery select “install zip from SD card” and “choose zip from SD card”.
8.Pick the Android 5.1 Lollipop firmware file and install CM12.1 ROM on your AT&T Samsung Galaxy S3.
9.Reapply the last step and flash Google Apps package.
10.When done, select “reboot system now” and enjoy.
During the process, the system verify the package and I had the following error
E:FAILED TO VERIFY CHOLE-FILE SIGNATURE
E: SIGNATURE VERIFICATION FAIL
I downloaded the ROM direct on the Cyanogen site (//download.cyanogenmod.org/?device=d2att)
What's wrong
TKS!
You must flash CM12.1 from a custom recovery, not stock recovery.
Before flashing anything else, let us know the bootloader version currently loaded on the phone. This is important to know as flashing the wrong file can brick the phone.
I was trying to install Iron rom https://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-tab-s/development/stock-tw-rom-galaxy-tab-s-8-4-t2995235
and followed the below steps as mentioned in the installation document of roms thread..
1. Download the rom and put it to your SD card or internal storage
2. Download latest bootloader and modem for SM-T705 and bootloader only for SM-T700
3. Boot into download mode, download latest Odin available and flash BL in BL tab and CP in CP tab
4. Make sure you use most recent TWRP which can be found T705 or T700
5. Flash TWRP with odin in AP tab
6. Boot into recovery using: home+power on + volume up
7. Select wipe, advanced wipe: data, cache, dalvik-cache and system
8. Install the rom (in aroma select "dirty flash", otherwise you may have problems!)
9. After rom installation reboot and wait around 20 minutes till the tab boots up
10. Enjoy MM on your Tab S!
I followed steps 1 to 7 successfully. When I tried step 8 it said "Failed to map file IronRom_SM-T70X_V3.2.zip" in external sd card.
Now when pressed rebooted it warned that "No OS is installed."
After rebooting its stuck in the boot screen with "powered by android logo. I pressed power button for 1 min and still tab is not shutting down.
Questions
1) How to do shutdown the tab & reboot to twrp?
2) How do i fix the "Failed to map file IronRom_SM-T70X_V3.2.zip" issue and install IronRom_SM-T70X_V3.2.zip?
3) Atleast how to enter into download mode so that I ca at least install stock rom?
Please help!
Thanks

When press all the buttons ie. power +volume up +volume down+home its showing the battery charging screen even though the tab is not plugged in.
So since tab is still not shutdown i am not able to try to boot to recovery.
Please guide.
Power volume - and home button should get you in to download mode so you can flash a stock rom......
