[Q] Help My Gio don't boot - Samsung Galaxy Gio GT-S5660

Hello to all,
I have try to install the [ROM][CM10.1.4] - modded - [stable-20130826] - OTA.
I follow every step as requested in the post
•Boot into CWM Recovery -> OK
•Wipe data/factory reset -> OK
•Format /System -> OK
•Install zip from SD card / choose ROM zip from SD card ->OK
•After installation reboot system now -> OK
•1st Boot take about 3 - 5 minutes (caches are generated in this time) -> This step never boot wait make all the process again and nothing.
I have read a lot of threads in the fórum and discover that I should wipe the Dalkiv Cache. I try to make that in CWM recobery but when I choose that menu the menu disapear in a few second's automaticly and I can't say yes to wipe the Dalvik Cache.
Already take out the baterry rpeat all the steps 3 or 4 times and always the same even with another ROM. I have not tryed with OTA ROM.
I think not sure the problem is with the Dalvik cache I try to wipe in adb mode (in CWM recovery) but I can´t find the correct comand (some of the lines start with "su") but this line don't work.
Some one could help me? I try to make the phone better and now I don't have phone.
Hope some one copuld help me I really need the phone.
Thanks in advance for your support.
Best Regards

Problem fixed.
I have installed the CWM with 4ext + rfs and that version don't let me wipe Dalvik Cache.
I have installed the CWM only with 4ext, and the problem's are solved.
Don't understand really why but already can install custom ROM.
Thanks any way.

after that it just sstays on the sony logo does not go no more no matter how long i leave it ... can you help me in this am i doing some thing wronge :fingers-crossed:
flash the supporting kernel
PLZ SPECIFY WHICH RO YOU HAVE INSTALLED
if you are using a custom rom then IT IS NECESSARY TO FLASH THE KERNEL FOR THE SAME!!!
Eg:- if using ics based rom the flash a kernel for ics, if using cynogenmod the flash the kernel for that..etc
also clear cache, wipe data and dalvik cache using CWM..

**IF YOU THINK I HELPED THEN SHOW IT BY PRESSING THE THANKS ICON**:good:
If you want to flash the custom kernel, you should unlock bootloader first.
If your bootloader is unlocked, first flash the custom kernel (ics/jb/gb) thru fastboot that supports the ROM you are installing.
After flashing the custom kernel, wipe user data, wipe cache partition, advanced-> wipe dalvik cache and flash the ROM. Reboot the phone.
hi thanks for your replys
im trying to install
Original Xperia T ICS Rom v5.0 for ARC/ARC-S based on (4.0.4) 587 [9th-Oct-2012]
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1746508
mybe a step im doing wronge im not shore follow it step by step
3.1- wipe factory date <<<< does not show this where is this or is it called soem thing els
3.2- wipe cache partition
3.3- wipe delvik cache
3.4- wipe system <<<< does not show this where is this or is it called soem thing els
i see
reboot otions
install zip from sd
apply /sd/update
factory reset
wipe cache partition
backup restore
mount storage
advanced
power off
in advance
reboot recovery
wipe dalvik cache
wipe battery stats
reboot error
key test
show log
partition sd card
fix permissions
that all that in recovery
?
Its in detail!!
THAT'S an ICS rom from xperia t
FROM that post it's clear(text copied from the post)
STEPS ARE QUITE CLEAR AND STRAIGHT FORWARD
How to install.... please do all step as i am describing
Step-1) Download & Flash the kernel From here available in downloads
Quote:
Step-2) Please download Xperia Arc-S 4.0.4_431 ftf pack from here only and flash it through flash tools , in Arc and arc-s both , FTF is available in downloads
Flash every thing from ftf pack just exclude two things
1. simlock.ta
2. Kernel.sin
do not flash these two things, after flash power up your phone and let it start completely, now copy rom zip into SD card , and reboot your device into recovery
Why you need to do this ???
It will give you 440-MB internal memory and 419-MB System Rom memory
If you already have these memories then you can skip this step
3) go into recovery and wipe these things
3.1- wipe factory date
3.2- wipe cache partition
3.3- wipe delvik cache
3.4- wipe system
4) now flash my rom after flash reboot your phone and wait for 60 seconds
5) Tick unknown source, then reboot it recovery again and flash the Xperia T lock-screen mod
6) reboot and enjoy do not wipe data after this for more info read recommendations
Click to collapse
AGAIN FOR YOUR BETTER UNDERSTANDING
**YOUR BOOTLOADER MUST BE UNLOCKED AND YOU MUST HAVE THE KERNEL INSTALLED PROVIDED IN THAT POST
**YOU MUST install THOSE FTF files excluding (THIS STEP IS DONE IN ORDER TO INCREASE THE INTERNAL MEMORY CAUSE XPERIA T ROM REQUIRE A HIGHER VALUE OF INTERNEL MEMORY WHICH IS BY DEFAULT NOT PRESENT IN ARC/S)
1. simlock.ta
2. Kernel.sin
**NOW GO INTO RECOVERY
3.1- wipe factory date ==factory reset
3.2- wipe cache partition
3.3- wipe delvik cache
3.4- wipe system ==MOUNT and storage>format/system
**THEN install the rom (the zip file) via install zip from sdcard
then step 5,6
I THINK I MADE IT QUITE DESCRIPTIVE NOW AND YOU WOULD BE ABLE TO INSTALL THAT ROM
BTW YOU MUST POST THIS PROBLEM IN THAT THREAD ITSELF SO THAT OTHER PERSON WHO IS FACING THE SIMILAR PROBLEM OR HAVE OVER-COME THIS PROBLEM CAN HELP FOR SURE!!!

Instructions for updating to CleanROM 2.0 R2

Question,
If one used these instructions originally to install Clean Rom version 1.5 on their Galaxy Note 10.1 (2014)
-boot to download mode and Flash autorootp600mj4.tar.md5 via ODIN AP slot keep default settings.
-Let it reboot to ROM by itself
-Back up apps with TB (you should have root now)
-Copy Clean ROM 1.5 zip file (or newer) to your EXT SD CARD (internal will be erased when doing factory reset next steps)
- reboot to download mode and Flash stockrecoverymj4.tar.md5 via ODIN AP slot keep default settings.
-Just when rebooting hold power+vol UP to go to stock recovery you just flashed (no need to let it boot to ROM, if you miss its ok just reboot from ROM and do the button combination when booting up i.e. before spashscreen shows up)
-Factory reset and reboot
-Just when rebooting hold power+vol DOWN to go to download mode (If you miss the button combination reboot from ROM to recovery and factory reset and then repeat this step)
-Flash TWRP (openrecovery-twrp-2.6.3.3-lt03wifiue.zip) from ODIN AP slot
-Just when rebooting hold power+vol UP to go to TWRP you just flashed (If you miss this step you have to flash stock recovery again to do the factory reset, AFAIK doing factory reset from TWRP has issues so I didnt do it, only use stock recovery for that)
-go to settings and check rm -rf
-mount ExtSDcard
-install Clean ROM (DO NOT wipe again)

Click to collapse
To update to 2.0 R2, would this now be the procedure to ensure a proper flash to new version?
-First backup whatever apps/data you need.
-Copy Clean ROM 2.0 R2 zip to your EXT SD CARD (internal will be erased when doing factory reset next steps)
-Reboot - hold power+vol UP - IN TWRP which is already installed = Choose advance tab under wipe, then choose wiping system, cache & Dalvik cache. (Don't choose data because boot loops can occur?)
-go to settings and check rm -rf (is this step necessary?)
-mount ExtSDcard
-install Clean ROM (DO NOT wipe again)
Thanks

I followed the above to upgrade, but all my apps (and settings like wifi password) that I had installed were still present after the install of Clean Rom 2.0 R2. Is that because I did NOT choose to wipe the DATA in the wipe process from TWRP? Is there any caveats to updating like this?
Thanks

[Q] HELP! Bricked my P600!!

Guys
really need some help here. Stupidly i decided i wanted to try my hand at installing clean rom,.
Firstly -
1. i rooted the device, and then used titanium backup to freeze some knox apps.
2. I didnt bother to put the stock recovery back on as i wanted to install clean ROM.
3. I followed the instructions i found on here to a tee - as below. They all worked perfectly.
4. I went through the install screens on CLEAN ROM - that all worked fine.
5. It ended with a screen back to TWRP and i hit reboot.
6. Not the device just gets stuck at the glowing samsung logo.
7. I can get back into TWRP but i have no idea what to do next. I have tried rebooting from TWRP, both system and power, but no luck. The device powers down, and comes back up but remains stuck on the glowing samsung logo.
What can i do?
these were the instructions i followed. Any help much appreciated, and i will chuck a couple of quid towards someone that can help.
3.
Download latest CleanRom and copy it to your SD-Card
4. ODIN
- Run Odin as administrator
- untick -Auto Reboot-
- Click -PDA- (in latest version it's -AP-) and choose your TWRP version
- Now turn off your device and restart it by holding down Power+Volume Down. Proceed with Volume Up to enter DownloadMode
- now connect your device to your PC using USB
- Device drivers should get installed if not already done
- check the Message box in Odin. There should be an "Added!!"
- There should be nothing checked but F. Reset Time
- Press -Start-
- when finished there should be a "RES OK !!" in the Message box
- TRWP is now flashed to your device
4.1.
Now restart your device manually by holding down Power+Volume Up. As soon as you see the Samsung Logo, wait a second and release the Powerbutton but keep holding Volume Up until TWRP is loaded.
5. TWRP
In TRWP
- click Wipe
- advanced wipe and check:
Dalvik, Cache, Data, Internal Storage (should be enough), System
- do NOT tick external SD. You don't want to get it wiped.
- Swipe to Wipe
Now back to Mainmenu
- click Install
- choose your desired ROM
- Swipe to Confirm Flash
- Follow Rom's Installshield and you should be good
Have fun and good luck
If you can get back to TWRP, then wipe data , cache & dalvik, then re-flash clean rom again.
If problem still persists then flash a stock rom via odin.
still no joy
I can wipe cache, system, data, but when i try to include dalvik cache i get a "Failed". the message in the screen says E: unable to mount '/cache

You shouldn`t wipe system . data , cache & dalvik was the requested options.
Now since you wiped system, your only choice is to download a stock firmware from sammobile, enter download mode power+volume down , then volume up, & flash via odin .

Hi thanks all – i think the problem was the boot loop issue. I wiped cache, dalvik cache, system, and data, one by one, and then reinstalled clean rom and it seemed to push it through. Thanks for the support though!
Almost, if it powers on and you're even getting in to recovery, bricked is not the proper term.
Bricked = no power, dead beyond repair.
All you had was a software issue.
and if twrp does not find sd card ?
then what ?..

Can't delete a rom (CM11) to install new one

****edit: It appears that the option "format /system" which is tucked away in a sub menu did the trick and erased the rom.
I am trying to completely delete a rom I have installed which is CyanogenMod 11 but it seems to stay no matter what, or I'm not doing it right.
First I go into recovery with the power+vol down and choosing recovery.
I have ClockworkMod 5.8.1.5.
From there I choose the wipe data/factory reset and also the wipe cache partition and wipe dalvik cache.
Then I choose the install zip from sd card to install Blackout_ICS_Incredible_v4.0.zip
After following the installer instructions and rebooting it goes back to CM11...
Any ideas how to wipe CM11 from my device?
Thanks :good:

Try formatting with fastboot.
Boot your device into fastboot and type these commands
Code:
fastboot devices
Just to be sure ur devic is connected
Code:
fastboot format system
Code:
fastboot format data
Code:
fastboot format boot
If the above doesnt work, susbtitute
Code:
format
with
Code:
erase
4EXT Recovery 1.0.0.6 R2
try changing the recovery via bootloader, download latest 4ext recovery zip then rename it to PD98IMG and place it to your root directory of your sdcard. Then go into bootloader it will automatically detect zip file and will ask you for update, press volume up to start the update, reboot and your done. After flashing new recovery go into recovery and then wipe/format from there format all partitions except sd card. When done go back to main menu and select info to see the free space/size of all partitions.
Device: HTC Desire HD
ROM: CM11 M8.1
Recovery: 4EXT 1.0.0.6 R3 build 8
If it helped you then pressing then press the thanks button.

Troubleshooting GT-i9082 Galaxy Grand Duos Bootloop/BootScreen strucked

Greetings users,
I am new to XDA but when I was looking around here and there i found that users has been facing several issues regarding bootloop or bootscreen struck problem. Then I found people on facebook struggling from the same problem. So what I lastly found is a basic and easy solution for this.
Follow these steps and it will take you out.
1) Firstly install Philz Touch Recovery so that you could enter custom recovery menu to make some patches.
Please note: You might need to enable USB debugging to install Philz Touch.
2) Now after you have installed Philz Touch Recovery, Go to recovery mode.
* Wipe Data/Factory Reset
* Clean to Install a New ROM
This will clear the whole things in the smartphone that needs a change.
3) For security, once again, Clear Cache and Clear Dalvik Cache.
4) Now everything has been cleared from the smartphone.
5) Now, make a reboot in recovery again and install your ROM from ZIP.
Note: What I have found is that, you have to put the ZIP file in SdCard1 or extSdCard outside any folder. Generally the recovery don't take it from the folders and might cause some bug.
For those who are using TouchWiz Revolution 7
It has some serious bugs and issues, I have tested it on specific more than two or three GT-i9082 devices.
I have also reported some bugs from it, please have a look over them HERE.
Anyone who got a bootloop/bootscreen struck, follow these.
1) Firstly install a Stock ROM of GT-i9082 using ODIN.
2) Now open and start the phone (it will take sometime to open and the stock rom will patch the original odex and library files)
3) Now Go to Settings > About > Click 6-7 times on Build to enable Developers Mode
4) Now Enable USB Debugging and Allow Mock Locations from Developers Options.
5) Now Install Philz Touch Recovery using ODIN.
6) Enter the recovery menu and perform:
* Wipe Data/Factory Reset
* Clean to Install a New ROM
7) For security, once again, Clear Cache and Clear Dalvik Cache.
8) Reboot in recovery again and install TouchWiz 7 from external Sdcard.
9) Profit!
Note: Allow 4-5 minutes after you have installed new rom after Boot Screen starts.
