I have 10.5 WiFi version.
I'm looking to install a custom ROM but don't know which one to choose. There are number available like: Thunderom, SuoperSamsung, BasicRom.
All of them are based on stock and seems to be doing/achieving same things. Which one is better/faster ? Which one has the best support/continuous development ?

Try them all and let us know!
They're all pretty much the same (TouchWiz, Android 4.4, stock kernel), only minor tweaks here and there.

There are not many Custom Roms at this point.
Developers are still figuring out Exynos (drivers and such), so development will be slower than devices with Snapdragon.
You can find the couple available for both WiFi (T700) and LTE (T705) on the Android Development Forums.

Hi, Thanks for taking the time to reply, what would you advise assuming you have one of these, do I just root and block ads for now or flash a rom and hope for the best?
Cheers
Root, play around with xposed mods. Custom roms are not essential at this point
there is currently no custom. the one that i compile for t705 are only a debloated roms with minor tweak...

From another point of view. ...
Your ROM is still "custom" using a modified Samsung base. Other CM AOSP etc are "custom" using a modified Google base.
The use of the word "stock" and "official" probably go hand in hand.
Edit: back OT, I suggest the OP to read up on the instructions thoroughly given by each ROM Dev/cook before flashing. Back up your important data off device first
Can anyone tell me which kk custom rom is best, stable and bug free ?
Try them until you find one you like.. If stability is your main concern though, a touchwiz kk ROM would be a better choice

So far i've tried CRom and PacRom, both has their share of problems with camera FCs and bluetooth not being able to find other devices.
Im running SlimRom 7.0 and I have yet to find a problem with it.
Hi everyone,
i have a xperia z1 compact phone and i'm a newbie in the world of custom rom, kernels, ecc..
A few days ago i flashed a new custom rom and the phone is working pretty well, but i have a question here..
Can i use a stock firmware (let's say original lollipop 5.1) with just a new kernel?
I was thinking about not installing a completely new rom but just a new kernel and the xposed installer to change something on this phone, is that possible?
If android releases a new version of android and i upgrade my version, do i have to reinstall the kernel? And some apps from sony's firmware are quite useless (at least for me), could i delete them just like a new rom? (ofc with root)
I just want a stock firmware with a new kernel that can use less battery possibly.. I don't need overclocking or stuff like that, just battery life i would say..
Sorry my bad english though and thank you all for your attention!

There are at least a couple of custom kernel options in this forum. Check ' development' and 'original development' threads. You can usually tell if they work for stock if they have either 'stock' or a build number, (e.g. 368), in the thread title. Otherwise they may be CM based, and won't work.

Android 5.1 on this phone is .368.
5.0 is .270 or .242
The others are KitKat, (either 4.1, 4.2, 4.3, or 4.4).
For the first - as always - be 120% sure that kernel you want to install is compatible with remaining system parts.
Base thing - stock to stock, non-stock to non-stock, but it is not everything.
Changes between versions them may be too big to play together.
You don't put any tires to any car. You need to know that dimensions fit.
Same here.
Hello.
Im looking for a stable and smooth Rom without bloatware and Special Features. Security is also a big Point.
What could u recommend ?
Actually im using the "srom" and i dont Need all the Features like Boomsound...
Best regards
This subforum is for the HTC One M8s.
We only have Stock and CM12.1 as ROM, no "srom".
You might want to repost it over here; https://forum.xda-developers.com/htc-one-m8/general
Hi Guys,
Just wanting a few questions answered if possible for when I get my Pixel 2 XL. I do not want to root the device.
On a custom ROM (Such as LineageOS flashed with GAPPS) , will the Google Camera app work fully as expected with HDR+, as on stock? If not, i'll probably want to keep stock.
When ROM's become available - How can I identify the ROM's that are stock with additional features, or ROM's built from AOSP - I've seen "AOSP" in thread titles, but what am I looking for ROM's built from stock? Hope this makes sense.
Aside from using an app, do you think a Mod can be made for stock that can enable Scrolling Screenshots? Such as; https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=34DQVZx74TE
Anyone?
Check the 6P page and open some of the ROM threads. They list all of the features. If you've never used any of the custom ROMs before give it a try. If you don't like anything just try another or flash stock image. I'm sure once you find one you like though, it will become a necessity. Pixel stock android is smooth, but the ROMs add to the experience IMO, not take away.

I already have. I've flashed Lineage OS and Paranoid Android. I believe they are both AOSP though. Can you provide me with a thread to a ROM that is stock based, and advise what you seen to confirm this?
@Nightmare79 , did you manage to get portrait mode working for the back camera on AOSP/Lineage Roms ?

If it is not AOSP based (or based on rom that is AOSP based), it should be stock based
