Hi! i recently decided to flash the Modaco Custom rom 3.1.
I wanted a fresh start on my desire, but only after i Flashed it, did i realise it doesn't remove all my apps and data.
So went to settings and did the factory data reset thing, but when the phone restarted, it got caught into a reboot loop.
Any ideas on what could causing this, and any ideas on how i can start fresh with the MCR 3.1?
Thnx
Try to first wipe/factory reset your phone via the recovery, and then flash MCR 3.1

O M G ..Thanks - How out of all the things i tried, did i not try factory resetting before i flashed.
But still. Does anyone know why this happened? I mean if i factory reset again. do you think it would boot loop again?
I think it shouldn't boot loop in that case. The problem was probably caused by some stuff that was left over from the previous ROM that you had on your handset.
Hi guys. tried to do this http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=28216947#post28216947 with rooted phone and locked bootloader. after flashing first part and wiping dalvik cach, i got stuck on bootloop after instructed to reboot. i went to cwm and flashed second part and after that i got bootloop as well. heard that i can fix it and go back to normal by doing a factory reset, so i went to cwm and reseted. still on bootloop. Anyone please help out this guy, coz I just started rooting and modding and now it's screwed.
Thank You!
Flash back to stock using flashtool root again and make a NANDROID BACKUP andtry again what you were trying.
And dont panic its only a softbrick i.e easily recoverable
Sent from my Arc using xda premium
So I flashed a new rom, did the usual, clear everything, reset/cache/dalvik and flashed the rom. However, when I rebooted the trinity logo/initial startup just stays on that screen forever. I tried reflashing from recovery and it still hangs forever on that screen. Do I have to go thru download mode/odin and get stock/root to be able to flash again or is there a quicker easier way?
Have you tried to restore a nand backup?
Try a factory reset after you flash the new rom.

I tried the reset after flash... and I never do NAND backups T_T. But I never do anything that could ruin it. I just thought there would be a quicker way instead of a compete reset to stock. But o wells, now I can set the flash counter back to 0 and not trip it anymore.
I successfully rooted my galaxy s3 with odin, then I tried installing the cyanogenmod. I backed up my data and apps on titanium backup before doing so. Now everytime it try to boot up my device it gets stuck on the boot screen. I tried wiping data/factory reset and rebooting system afterwards but the problem still occurs.

Nop.
Get back in recovery, and re-follow their full instructions.
My guess is that you'll have to wipe system, cache and dalvik. Then reflash CM and their respective Gapps.
PS.: It can take a while to boot up.
Well, I'm in serious problem. Samsung logo shows up but phone not load.. nothing happen except that
tried to reflash.. tried factory data reset through recovery and wipe dlavick and cache, reflash stock rom..
