Hi guys. tried to do this http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=28216947#post28216947 with rooted phone and locked bootloader. after flashing first part and wiping dalvik cach, i got stuck on bootloop after instructed to reboot. i went to cwm and flashed second part and after that i got bootloop as well. heard that i can fix it and go back to normal by doing a factory reset, so i went to cwm and reseted. still on bootloop. Anyone please help out this guy, coz I just started rooting and modding and now it's screwed.
Thank You!
Flash back to stock using flashtool root again and make a NANDROID BACKUP andtry again what you were trying.
And dont panic its only a softbrick i.e easily recoverable

It's a long story to tell but I'll say it anyway.
So for a while I've been having problems with CM7 but I've always been able to fix them by going back to my previous rom (Bombaridier 3.5). The thing is I absolutely love CM7 so I always try to go back to that rom and pray that I don't have a problem with it. So yesterday I was able to flash it with no problems. I made my backups and everything was alright for the day. I fell asleep watching a movie on the phone and this morning I found that the battery was depleted. I thought "okay" and just turned it back on. I boot it to find it stuck in an infinite boot loop. I had this problem once before and I just fixed it by installing Bombaridier 3.5 back on through Clockwork Recovery. Usually when I have an infinite boot loop, I can't fix it by fixing permissions or restoring from a backup (they would boot back into the infinite loop before even beginning) so either a data wipe or a complete installation of another rom would fix it, but this time, rom installation and data wiping faced the same issue so it also booted into the infinite loop. I tried looking through the forums and google for a solution but nothing came up. In a last ditch of effort I tried restoring to my unroot stock rom and this time it was able to boot to the main screen, but only for about 5 seconds. After that it continued to the infinite loop. I tried to go into the Clockwork Recovery menu, but little did I know the unroot stock rom made my recovery a stock recovery, so I can't do anything with roms and backups. The stock recovery had the option to wipe data but when I tried to do that, it literally did nothing (as in the power button had no effect on the options). So now I'm stuck on a stock recovery while on an infinite loop CM7. Since I know rooting and using roms voids my warranty, is there any solution to this problem?
Okay I was able to go into download mode and root again so now I have Clockwork Recovery back, but I still have the same problem when trying to fix permissions, wipe data, and restoring a rom (infinite boot loop) so can someone please help me out?

Have you tried:
- Taking out the battery, plug your charger into the computer, plug the usb charger into your phone and then putting in the battery.
- In recovery mode try using the "Home" button to select factory data reset
- Get into download mode and Odin restore to stock
Hope this helps

You have to wipe the cache partition, dalvik cache and wipe / factory data reset.

thank you for the first reply but since i'm back to clockwork recovery i can't factory reset or it will boot back into the infinite loop during the proccess. Since I can access download mode, how do I restore back to a stock rom using odin?
fully bricked and you can get into clockwork recovery?
lol that's a first...try to describe your problem properly before asking for help..if you have clockwork recovery just load a stable rom(like eagles blood) onto a sd card and flash away(after wiping everything..duh)

You need to flash a rom. Do a factory reset and flash a rom.

Ok the problem was fixed. I had to flash a stock md5 file into Odin through download mode and re-root so now I'm back to bombaridier 3.5 restored. Thank you for the help born_immaculate88

If you read I explained in detail how I couldn't flash a ROM, wipe data, fix permissions, or restore from backup because they would
all end the same way, cutting off and rebooting into the infinite boot loop. Luckily I was able to fix it by flashing a stock ROM through Odin in download mode but this would have never helped. Thanks for the effort but next time read it carefully.

fully bricked means you can't turn it on..let alone get into recovery
if you could get into recovery then anything could be fixed..pretty much.
there is no reading it carefully or not, watch the terms you use when you describe a problem because brick=/=being able to get into recovery..it is called recovery for a reason.
now just to explain to you what brick means, here's definition from wikipedia
When used in reference to consumer electronics, "brick" describes a device that cannot function in any capacity (such as a device with damaged firmware). This usage derives from the fact that some electronic devices (and their detachable power supplies) are vaguely brick-shaped, and so those which do not function are useful only as actual bricks. The term can also be used as a verb. For example, "I bricked my MP3 player when I tried to modify its firmware."[1]
your deviced turned on and got into recovery, that is no where near being bricked..not even a soft brick.
Hi,
I just recover my phone with a cwm backup.
But after this, my phone stuck on bootloop.
That's why, I've wiped dalvik cache.
But now, on boot, Android is such as new, no more apps, ...
So, What's the way to get back as more data as possible?
I was thinking that you could get back your mobile as before with cwm!
Thanks for your help
Well, when the phone gets a bootloop after restoring a nandroid backup, it's maybe because you have a different kernel from the one that's on the backup file.
If you want, try flashing with Flash Tools the stock ROM, get onto Fastboot mode and do a hotboot of a CWM kernel (because you will lose the complete install, by now) then restore your old backup.
It will keep all the data.

The backup date of yesterday so, it's not a kernel problem.

I tried but I still get the same problem. Maybe Im doing something wrong. I put the phone in download mode, open Odin, plug it in, click PDA, choose the stock I got from the SamMobile site, and it runs completely but then gets stuck on reboot at the Samsung logo still.
go into stock recovery by powering on the phone while holding home and volume up, then choose the option to wipe cache, then reboot.
Agreed. I had a similar issue the other day. I ended up wiping cache in samsung recovery, and if that doesn't work, wipe data factory reset. I tried rebooting, but it still got stuck at the samsung logo. I then flashed CWM recovery or TWRP recovery through ODIN and then download another rom. Do a factory reset within the new recovery / wipe cache/ wipe dalvik/ wipe system/ and then flash the new rom. That will get it to boot.
Moral of the story is to not freak out too much. You're not in trouble.

Everytime i flash a rom it stucks on bootloop, ive tested the right kernel+rom. I think ive bricked it, how can i fix this?!
Did you do the ota update? What's your hboot?
This is probably a stupid question but, have you wiped all partitions system, data, dalvik, cache, factory reset, and tried to flash a stock rom. My HTC Thunderbolt did the same thing last year and i did all the above then factory reset again after flashing the stock GB rom without leaving out of recovery. Then rebooted and i was back to flashing custom roms in no time. Hope this helps you out. Its kind of hard to brick a High Tech Computer. Unless, you've restored the wrong qcn file with QPST.....Thats how I flashed my HTC Touch Pro 2 to paperweight mode. Pretty pretty paperweight with a full qwerty keyboard.
Idk if I ota updated,
Hboot: 1.18

I acidentaly formated data, so I had to LGNSPT to stock jellybean. I re-rooted and unlocked the bootloader. Later I decided I wanted to flash the venum rom so I booted into TWRP and I wiped both cache and dalvik-cache and factory rested by mistake because I wanted to make a backup. So when the wipe finished I did. I backed up the boot and system. Then I formated system and flashed the rom. Everything went smoothly, so I rebooted the phone and got stuck at the LG screen. I thought it was a bad flash, butI re-did the process multiple times. I did a restore which was the boot and system and that didn't work. While I was running out of options I just decided to reboot the recovery and it said I have to fix permissions for root and I thought that was the problem so I tried again. But it didn't workand everytime I tried I reboot the recovery it said I had to fix permissions over and over again. Is there a way I can fix this without a computer? Plz help.
If I have no other way of fixing the problem without a pc then tell me how I can fix my phone with one plz

LGNPST ZVB or teeny bins. Factory reset shouldn't wipe data.
Edit. My brain cramp. Without computer try another backup. Or., factory reset, then in advanced, tick all 4. Then do your restore.

I know I actually hit the option "format data" and wiped out my entire internal storage.

Well... if you wiped /system and had already formatted /data, i don't think you can get it to boot without a computer. I didn't see /recovery listed in your restore and i think might be the issue.

If you still have Twrp, try reflashing it. 2.6.0.0 just came out and octhrope made a flashable zip for it in the TWRP thread.

I just had a similar problem but for a different reason. My rooted and unlocked started acting funny by asking me to turn on GPS when it was already on. I rebooted and got the LG screen, never, never to get better. Sprint couldn't do anything so I got a new phone. I suspect it may be a battery issue, or a power issue where the handset does not have enough power to power up. I paid $50 for Sprint to fix my first one since I did not carry insurance. Might try working something similar.
