Hi! i recently decided to flash the Modaco Custom rom 3.1.
I wanted a fresh start on my desire, but only after i Flashed it, did i realise it doesn't remove all my apps and data.
So went to settings and did the factory data reset thing, but when the phone restarted, it got caught into a reboot loop.
Any ideas on what could causing this, and any ideas on how i can start fresh with the MCR 3.1?
Thnx
Try to first wipe/factory reset your phone via the recovery, and then flash MCR 3.1

O M G ..Thanks - How out of all the things i tried, did i not try factory resetting before i flashed.
But still. Does anyone know why this happened? I mean if i factory reset again. do you think it would boot loop again?
I think it shouldn't boot loop in that case. The problem was probably caused by some stuff that was left over from the previous ROM that you had on your handset.
I rooted my Epic 4g touch.
I cant get it to go past the start up screen.
I can however put the phone into dowload mode.
I can also get to clockwork.
Ive even reflashed with odin but nothing i do will go past the boot screen.
the boot screen changes everytime i flash but never progresses past this.
please assist, i had a ton of errors with starburst rom, but i watched the video and the comments said to format and that is what caused this issue.
please help in anyway you can.
i really need my phone back up its my only point of contact
If you are using CWR, try erasing your /system before flashing the new rom. It's under the mount option (I think). Also clear the cache and the Delvik Cache too.
Otherwise go get the stock image, flash that with Odin and start over.
That's about all I know, hope it helps.
Thanks for trying...
Ive tried erasing the system clearing the cache and the delvik cache...
ive also tried flashing with odin with the stock image all it does is changes the boot screen but it stays suck there...
at least you tried to help thanks man
ok so this may sound strange but my phone will not boot up. i have tried flashing different roms and always their boot images via fastboot right after i instal the rom. Right now my device boots up and shows the splash screen and then imediately boots into bootloader mode. i got to this problem by restoring a previous backup and then flashing its boot.img. can anyone help me or tell me whats going on?! it would be much appreciated!!! right now im out of a phone.
Erase the dalvik cache from recovery. Also something else you need to do, but I forgot what.

thanks, im guessing the next thing is just to flash the recovery image again?
No.
i ended up just wiping data, cache, and formating the system again, followed by restoring the rom and re-downloading the boot.img again and it worked after flashing the boot image the second time. scary stuff...
I successfully rooted my galaxy s3 with odin, then I tried installing the cyanogenmod. I backed up my data and apps on titanium backup before doing so. Now everytime it try to boot up my device it gets stuck on the boot screen. I tried wiping data/factory reset and rebooting system afterwards but the problem still occurs.

Nop.
Get back in recovery, and re-follow their full instructions.
My guess is that you'll have to wipe system, cache and dalvik. Then reflash CM and their respective Gapps.
PS.: It can take a while to boot up.
Hey,
I tried rooting my S4 Mini by first flashing clockworkmod and then installing the rootkit. But on boot after the Samsung tone it shuts off. I have tried wiping cache partition, data, cache, dalvick cache, etc. I also tried flashing the stock rom with no success. The phone is soft bricked-i can go on download and clockworkmod recovery. Wondering if the pit file would help but I dont know where to find it and I am a bit of a newbie. Any help would be greatly appreciated. What should I do?

I am trying to go back to stock rom. Not working. Tried the PIT file and everything else. Just wondering-I am in clockworkmod recovery. I just want to boot up my phone. Is there any possible way to do that? Or perhaps go back to Stock ROM
If you flash a stock ROM SUCCESSFULLY, your phone will boot.
Give us the log of your Odin.
