Hi,
Can someone provide me the stock .odex file for the sms app for g3 d852 ?
I've try to push a new custom black one lgmessage.apk in my phone in priv-app , deleted stock lgmessage.apk and lgmessage.odex , changed the permission to rw-r-r and rebooted the phone.
When I tried to open the sms app it says : app is not installed and the icon is an android logo.
:crying:
Also will downloading a new sms app will comsume more batterie then the stock one ?

Why can't i delete any stock apps ?, i use root explorer, go to system/app folder to delete apk and odex .... my icons remain, when i reboot my phone restored the 2 deleted files.
Now i use titanium backup donate, i freeze the app and deleted the apk and odex file now the icons are gone. But when i reboot the apk file and odex file gets restored but the icons are gone because i have frozen the program
Why does my HTC Desire keep restoring the apk and odex files ???
Is my desire not rooted correctly ? i used unrevoked today.
In order to be able to delete system/stock apps, while you are in the OS, you have to be s-off. Otherwise you can do it from recovery thru ADB.
Ah....thanks for the info.
I had gtalk running on my milestone 3 months back and I changed my phone to Desire HD and Today I tried to install gtalk.apk but it kept saying application not installed. I checked with 3-4 apk's , all gave the same error.
Can anyone guide me as what to do ?
BUMP . Anyone please?
Gtalk.apk is a system application, it is better you try and install this from market?
IF you have custom rom you can directly mount /system/app and copy the gtalk.apk to /system/app

you cant install system apps like that ..you have to get the original gallery.apk and place (copy paste using any file explorer) it in the system/app directory ..after that you have to set permisiions to rw-r-r using a root explorer and reboot..
use ES file explorer for all this stuff... it works as a root explorer as well....

check google play for system app installer. its the easiest method if you dont want to go through the crap of installing the apps the more technical way.

I think u misunderstood , u just have to copy paste the app in system/app directory..after that just set permissions u don't have to install the app after that and if you don't try to install this app you wont get that error message , and after u set permission just reboot..
Btw, could u tell me the steps you are doing...?

Yes, done as you said.
First..copied the .apk file into system/app folder and setup permissions. and then reset to factory settings --> didn't work
then tried to same 2 steps and restarted the phone---> no luck.
i am unable to know what to do now.
Hi, I recently installed the fulmics rom to my lg g3 after installing the rom I am unable to text on the stock messaging app or any other messaging app from the play store I am also unable to receive any text messages, is there anyway to fix this? Thanks in advance
you need to edit the build.prop...change the ro.operator from GLOBAL to SPR... then go into the LGteleservice folder in priv-apps and rename to .bak...reboot...go back and rename .bak to .apk...reboot...this will allow you to text but may cause fc in other apps...

Thanks for the info would i have to put my phone into recovery mode for me to do this?
No. Just use es or root Explorer.
I tried that method of changing Lgteleservice.apk to .bak then back to .apk rebooted, i tried opening my messaging app after and i still recieved the message "unfortunately the messaging app isnt responding".
Hi guys,
I need that someone in LG-710EM-20K copy his gmail2.apk app from /system/app/gmail2 (root needed for who is not rooted) and attach it here pls, i lost my backup of this archive and i need it, gmail crashes installed from playstore when system app has been removed, idk why, but i cant install it as a /data app without the original rom apk inside /system/app

I got fixed, dont need it any more.
