Hi im using OD's rom, but i wanna make some personal stuff to it.
I have found out to integrate apks to the zip file, but after i integrate the apps and install it on my desire, it does not show the files on the market under downloads.
Is there any way to let them show up in there so i could uninstall them if thats what i want?.
Download any app from the market and they should show up... you are putting them in /data/app and not /system/app aren't you?

I put them in system/app,
so if the data folder its not there i just make data/app and place them in there correct?.
Thanks for the reply.
Okay i tryed to make the folder data and inside that i made the app folder and placed all the apk i need.
Seems not to work they dont install automatic when installing the custom rom?
bump!!!!
bump.......
Put them in /data/app. They will show up. If they don't, you're doing something wrong.
Sent from my HTC Desire using XDA App
ehm, okay.
I took opendesire 3.6.0. i opend it with winrar and made the folder data and app folder, in the root of the zip file okay? its not there on standard. And then i putted the files in in zip file and signed it.
It does not work. Is there a guide somewhere?. Have trying to search but no luck yet.
bump!.......
when you install an app without using the market, there is no market link for the market to... well... link to.
I use aTrackDog to keep track of my constant backups and flashes etc. it even provides you a market link if you want to update.
Have a look at Titanium Backup as a different way of keeping market links. when restored it can restore the market link necessary for it to show up in the market downloads section
If there is no /data/app folder in the ZIP then simply adding it won't work as the update script won't look for it and flash them - you'd need to ask AdamG (or someone else) to add the lines to the script to make the ROM flash that information as well...
Last week i rooted my Desire Z and removed some system app's. Like gtalk/talk..
Is it possible to reinstall this program again without removing everthing? I found some talk.apk or gtalk.apk but they didn't work for me.. Maybe its because i have a newer ROM.
Can anyone with a desire Z share the apk of talk/gtalk??
Thanks

try restoring a nandroid backup...and honestly if i knew how to adb pull i would post it, but imjust learning adb commands right now.
never removed talk! its linked to the market and can screw everything up
Okey.. but how do i install it again ?
After a lot of googling I found the solution which was easier as I thought.
- Install Astro (or another file explorer)
- Go to /system/app/ and hit talk.apk
The talk.apk must be in the app folder, because when it's on the SD it will not work. I was lucky the talk.apk was on my device itself, because I downloaded a couple of talk.apk but those where from different devices (HTC Orange, HTC Desire).
Hope It's useful

SU File Manager
Root Explorer
Android Mate
Those all should get you root access to delete apps in /system/app

I have Root Manager and when i try to remove Amazon MP3 it just says that the app is removed and that i should restart, though the app is still there.
Any clue what the problem may be?
are there any way to freeze any system application without uninstall?
Does any one use root uninstall?
is it possible to rename file in system/app/ .apk to .backup
Thanks in advance to everyone..
1) Titanium Backup usually used to freeze apps effectively.
2) Root Explorer can be use to rename apk file and preventing it from running. I normally rename apk to rem. No reboot is required as it work immediately after rename done. If you ever need the app run again, just rename it back to apk and it run again.
Thanks so mutch....i think this question will be useful for everyone...
so...only one doubt....is it necessary to remve the relative file in data/data and in data/dalvik-cache??
Not need to remove anything if you're only want to freeze it or disable it like what I mentioned above.
thanks....i will try immediatly

thxx for your help
------------SOLVED-------------
it s in /data/app
Couldn't you just install it, and then pull the apk back out of /data/app? Is it really that important that it doesn't install?
yes of course, it s just i didn t knew that now it was in /data/app
