Fulmics Rom Unable to text - G3 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi, I recently installed the fulmics rom to my lg g3 after installing the rom I am unable to text on the stock messaging app or any other messaging app from the play store I am also unable to receive any text messages, is there anyway to fix this? Thanks in advance

you need to edit the build.prop...change the ro.operator from GLOBAL to SPR... then go into the LGteleservice folder in priv-apps and rename to .bak...reboot...go back and rename .bak to .apk...reboot...this will allow you to text but may cause fc in other apps...

Thanks for the info would i have to put my phone into recovery mode for me to do this?

No. Just use es or root Explorer.

I tried that method of changing Lgteleservice.apk to .bak then back to .apk rebooted, i tried opening my messaging app after and i still recieved the message "unfortunately the messaging app isnt responding".

[Q] Can't install apks or move apks to app folder

I'm on Fresh Evo and the video camera force closes....
So, i tried uninstalling the htccamera and installing the camera.apk from CMs rom, since that camera is much better than htccamera.
Anyway, I've tried putting the apk on the sdcard and when I click on it to install, it says "application not installed."
If I try moving the apk to the system/app folder I get an error "java.io.filenotfound/system/app/Camera.apk(permission denied)
I've tried pushing and pulling from adb, also with errors.
I'm fully rooted, is there something I'm missing? a Checkbox somewhere? I've allowed installing applications from unknown sources, so that's not it.
Any help would be appreciated. Thanks
I don't know if it will work for the camera, but when installing a system app, I use root explorer (which isn't free from the market) to mount r/w permissions in the system/app folder so that I can copy and paste the app inside that folder. Then I long press the app and click on permissions, then only check the boxes for Owner/Read, Owner/Write, Group/Read, and Other/Read. The app then installs itself when I reboot the phone.

Downloaded Root Explorer, finally was able to copy the camera.apk into the system/app folder. Success there, but...
Changed all the permissions like you said, then clicked on the apk to install it. A window opened up with an install button, clicked it, and then it came up with the message "application not installed." I rebooted and it looked like the camera installed, it showed up in the app list, but when I click it, it force closes, comes up with an error "we're sorry, camera has closed unexpectedly, com.android.camera, please try again.
Any ideas on how to get passed the force close. It's doing exactly what the htccamera would do when I tried to use the video camera.
Thanks in advance.

[Q] mms.apk(black)

Does anybody know how I can get the black mms.apk to work? I've set permissions same as my original mms, rebooted, and keep getting message "unfortunately messaging has stopped working" Any suggestions?
Try force stopping the app first then use root explorer to copy the new mms.apk

What mms are you using? If it wasn't compiled correctly, it will force close. Also, cut/paste is not a solid method of replacing system apps, and adb push works a lot better.

I'm not sure what type of mms- it's mms.apk- I found it below the link on XDA for downloading the 4.0.4 for the galaxy nexus. I did copy/paste- I will try the adb push and see if that works. Thanks, I appreciate the help!
I used root explorer to move the mms.apk file and rename the old mms.apk. you have to force stop the messenger first before anything.

those were the steps I followed- don't know what went wrong. I got it though- I backed-up to Ti, and restored app only- (app & data didn't work) and it finally works fine. Thank you for your help I appreciate it!

you cant install system apps like that ..you have to get the original gallery.apk and place (copy paste using any file explorer) it in the system/app directory ..after that you have to set permisiions to rw-r-r using a root explorer and reboot..
use ES file explorer for all this stuff... it works as a root explorer as well....

check google play for system app installer. its the easiest method if you dont want to go through the crap of installing the apps the more technical way.

I think u misunderstood , u just have to copy paste the app in system/app directory..after that just set permissions u don't have to install the app after that and if you don't try to install this app you wont get that error message , and after u set permission just reboot..
Btw, could u tell me the steps you are doing...?

Yes, done as you said.
First..copied the .apk file into system/app folder and setup permissions. and then reset to factory settings --> didn't work
then tried to same 2 steps and restarted the phone---> no luck.
i am unable to know what to do now.

Hi,
Can someone provide me the stock .odex file for the sms app for g3 d852 ?
I've try to push a new custom black one lgmessage.apk in my phone in priv-app , deleted stock lgmessage.apk and lgmessage.odex , changed the permission to rw-r-r and rebooted the phone.

:crying:
Also will downloading a new sms app will comsume more batterie then the stock one ?

[Q] VS 985 LGInCallUI.apk will not work

I have a Verizon G3 running stock 4.4.2 rom, it is also rooted with stump root. I have not changed anything extreme with the root only used G3 TweaksBox to change colors and themes. I also installed the google dialer and contacts apps by downloading the .apk files and moving them manually, these have been working fine. I tried to change the LgInCallUI.apk with a different black themed one I found on the forums and overwrote the original one however it is not working now (also forgot to backup the original one). When I try to make a call I hear the call connect tone however the screen never changes and stays in the dialer app, It also does not change when a call comes in, the ringtone goes off but there is no way to answer the call. I tried removing the file from the priv app folder and trying to manually move it again by changing the permissions and moving it back to the folder but this did not help. There is also a file in the priv app folder called LGInCallUI.odex that I think was a part of the old version since it is dated a few months old like all of the other files. Any assistance would be appreciated, thank you.
