[Q] Power button disconnects call even when unticked in Settings. - G3 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Does anyone have any idea how to stop my F400S G3 on the latest firmware from disconnecting a call with the power button.
I want it to just turn off my screen.
I have tried both the check box under Calls and Accessibility but no matter if it's ticked or unticked it always ends my call and I don't want it to.
I hope someone can help me as I've had no luck so far.

Strange Problem with Speakerphone! please help!!!

about two nights ago i was on the phone using speakerphone, my phone was also hooked up to my computer but activesync wasn't working so i did a soft reset which seems to always fix that. what i did was that i told the person i was on the phone with that i would call them back and i did a soft reset while on the phone with them while it was on speakerphone instead of hanging up. when my phone turned on again i noticed that the speakerphone icon was in the title bar and apparently speakerphone was on. i made a phone call but speakerphone actually wasn't on, i pressed the button to try and turn it off but it didn't, i opened up the menu options and tried to shut it off from there but also failed. i've done a soft reset but that didn't work, i've looked around for a bout a day and a half but i haven't found anything. i am really trying to avoid a hard reset but unless someone can help me out i think i might have to
any help is greatly appreciated
fixed!
i installed a program called Speakerphone that automatically turns on your speakerphone when you have an incoming call having it automatically turn on re-enabled the "speakerphone off" key

[Q] Prevent sleep during call

Hi,
I love my HTC One X but one thing drives me insane. Once I've been on a call for a minute, the screen goes to sleep and I can't get in to any of my apps like Calendar etc that I need to check during a call. The only button that responds is the power button which ends the call!
Can you please let me know how to prevent sleep during a call?
I've just bought Tasker, so I'm hoping that I can do something with that, is that the best place to start?
Thanks,
JD
It shouldn't be doing that by default.
You can turn on/off the 'power button ends call' option in accessibility

I'm facing the same problem, other than the Power button terminating the call.
This is getting on to my nerves now!
Is there a fix to this?

Perfect, that fixed it, thanks!
How do I prevent the screen from going to sleep, while on a call?
If I am on a call and I get a call waiting tone, I look at my screen and it's blank. Similarly, like I said earlier, at the end of the call too, I can't end the call because the screen is again blank!
The Power key seems to wake it up, but it is annoying to keep pressing it all the time.

Phone key pad not re-displaying

I have a google unlocked galaxy nexus phone with JB installed. Sometimes when making a phone call using the dial pad, the display will not turn back on when removed from my ear. Today I was on a call and needed to use the keypad and all I had was a blank display. Nothing I did could get it to display. I had to remove the battery to end the call. Sometimes this happens and all I have to do is tap the power button to bring up the display. Is this a known problem? Is there a setting that I can adjust? Thanks.
Hi jjthenovice,
did you find a solution for this behaviour - I posted a similar experience, but so far nobody responded to my post.
Having the power button set up to end the call is A solution - but not a very good one.

[Q] Universal Switch enabled, screen unresponsive

So I activated Universal Switch on S6 Edge to check it out, something went wrong in the settings (long story short, got a pop up while setting it up), now screen unresponsive.
It works, I just get this blue horizontal line scanning the screen and nothing else but the power button and home button works. Tried safe mode, no bueno. How can I disable US feature without resetting to factory or at least no data wipe (if possible!)?
Android 5.0, rooted with pingpong, no custom recovery, knox 0x0.
All help is appreciated.

Fixed!
The way I had fixed this is by holding down the power button, both up and down sound buttons, and the home button until it restarted. When the device turned back on it gave the option to turn the setting off. Hope it helped!

Thanks alot

It doesn't give me the option to turn it off
Hi,
I have been struggling with Universal Switch on a Samsung S5 Neo. I switched it on, but was never able to switch it off again.
These are findings so far:
-> Did a factory reset using "Sound Up", "Home" and "Power" button simultaneous.
-> The device comes back and wants to configure itself again.
-> I restored my settings from Google, but this immediately brought back "Universal Switch"
-> Factory Reset again and configured the device, but told Google that I want to use it as a "New Device".
-> Now I can use my device in a proper way.
-> In Google Play Store I find all my Apps which were linked to my account and reinstalled them and I am back in business again.
-> Took me half a day to sort this out.
The programmer who designed and programmed this should be hung and shot and poisoned, because this is absolute Crapware.
Hope this helps for all the others who are suffering.
You can also push the home button three times and it should turn it off.
thank u ur the best
Ok, so i have exactly the same problem except my home button doesn't work
Anyone one know how to sort this without having to take it in to a store?
I was faced with this problem before and looked everywhere and couldnt find a fix. This was a while ago. So I dont remember what I did to clear it. I was cleaning off the screen and touched the home button as I was wiping it off and the problem began again.... I just came across your comment because all the others failed. I pressed the home button 3 times quickly and the blue lines stopped scrolling. In addition, I went over the accessibility and I turned off the "Universal Switch" option as much as the option allows. I hate this function. I do not use it or need it (for my needs). I hope I can remember what to do next time this happens. I swore to myself I would remember last time, but apparently that wasnt a guarantee. This time, I will write it down and put is somewhere I know I will find it next time I see these nefarious blue lines scrolling. Hopefully I wont see it again since I disabled it more than it was to begin with. Thank you ever so for commenting. You saved me a lot of frustration!
great fix

FIX: Dropped Calls on Custom MM ROMS

If you're using a custom Marshmallow ROM, whether it's Resurrection Remix, Vanir, CandySix, Bliss, Xenon, or any other, and you're experiencing calls being dropped, I think I might have found a solution for you, and it's easier than you think! After hours of downloading, flashing, and testing different ROMs, calling friends and family to test for calls getting dropped, google searching everywhere, etc. I found out that a particular combination of settings might be triggering the phone to drop calls, or as I'll explain in a minute, to hang up.
As it turns out, there are a couple of settings in the new custom ROMs that might cause the problem. The first one is the "Tap to Wake" setting. This nice little feature allows you to turn on the screen by double tapping it. The second setting is the "End Call" by pressing the power button. Thanks to our lovely LG G3 back power button, it's really easy to finish a call by pressing the power button.
Both settings are wonderful and harmless on their own, but when they're combined they will definitely cause problems. Let me explain. You see, when you're making a phone call, once you dial and hold the device near your ear, the proximity sensor detects your face and turns off the screen. This avoids unwanted touchscreen taps (Your ear might accidentally touch the hang up button if the screen was on). However, when the screen is off, your ear still touches the screen multiple times while you talk, your ear becomes like a finger, tapping and double-tapping the screen while you're happily talking to your other half.
Now, normally, this ear-tapping doesn't cause any problems, the screen is off after all, right? Well, bear with me a little longer and you'll see what's going on here.
You might think that when the screen is off, double tapping it sends a "turn on screen" signal to the phone, right? Well, not really. The double tap only simulates a power button press... That wouldn't normally cause any issues, right? But, if you're in the middle of a phone call, what does the power button do? Yes, you guessed it right. It hangs up.
So, that's what's happening, calls are not getting dropped, you are literally hanging up! with your ear!
FIX: Do not have both "Tap to Wake" and "End Call Power Button" enabled. You have to disable one of them.
I really hope this helps a lot of unsuspecting users like me that were concerned about this call dropping issue. Hopefully ROM developers notice this too and help us fix it for real so that we can have both settings enabled.
and so in the sense that i never enabled that to begin with what is the countermeasure?

If you don't have any of those settings enabled, then you're good! If you're still experiencing dropped calls, it might be the modem, or the kernel, the signal, the ROM, it could be anything... that's why I spent hours trying to find the cause of my calls getting dropped... hope you find yours...
