about two nights ago i was on the phone using speakerphone, my phone was also hooked up to my computer but activesync wasn't working so i did a soft reset which seems to always fix that. what i did was that i told the person i was on the phone with that i would call them back and i did a soft reset while on the phone with them while it was on speakerphone instead of hanging up. when my phone turned on again i noticed that the speakerphone icon was in the title bar and apparently speakerphone was on. i made a phone call but speakerphone actually wasn't on, i pressed the button to try and turn it off but it didn't, i opened up the menu options and tried to shut it off from there but also failed. i've done a soft reset but that didn't work, i've looked around for a bout a day and a half but i haven't found anything. i am really trying to avoid a hard reset but unless someone can help me out i think i might have to
any help is greatly appreciated
fixed!
i installed a program called Speakerphone that automatically turns on your speakerphone when you have an incoming call having it automatically turn on re-enabled the "speakerphone off" key

I have activated the advanced power feature where my xda2 will turn it off automatically after it is not used for, say, 3 minutes.
Initially my xda2 will turn itself on by an incoming call. However, after some time, my xda2 will not be able to turn on when there is incoming call. Furthermore, I noted that whenever this happen, I am unable to swith it on, even by pressing the Power button. Each time I have to perform a hard reset and that erase all the data in my xda2.
Is there anything that I could do to prevent this from happening? Right now I could only choose to turn off the backlight whenever my xda2 is not in used.
I would appreciate if someone could advise me on how to go about addressing this problem. By the way, I have upgraded my ROM version to 2.06.00WWE.
Hi Guys,
Ive noticed that sometimes when i use the speakerphone (either by pushing the on-screen button or flipping the phone over), it works fine. However, once the call is over, the touchscreen is deactivated it seems. Nothing works. Cant press anything. As for the hardware buttons, the windows button works, and the power button works. The volume, call, and end call buttons do nothing.
Not sure if this is relevant, but I only notice it if the phone was flipped over (with touchscreen down). If i used speakerphone with the phone facing up, doesnt seem to happen.
The only ways ive found to fix this are to soft reset with that little button under the cover, or to miss a call. (obviously, if a call comes in, I cant answer it as none of the ways you'd use to answer a call still work). After the call is missed though, the touchscreen comes back to life.
any ideas??
thanks
havent notice quite this.. but something similar...
when i wanna make a quick phone call
i open the keyboard type name of contact,
select the contact and hit enter to make the
phone call.. when i close the keyboard to turn
the phone to my ear, half of the screen looks
normal and have of it looks all MESSED UP...
im sure is not a hardware problem or anything.. ( well i hope so )
i think is not bcuz it only do it on that situation..
besides that my screen is normal..
bump
phone been around a while now...maybe someone else noticed this problem...
I've noticed that sometimes my phone will go into "sleep" mode like when you quickly press the power button. Maybe a quick tap of the power button to wake it up will help.
Just got my TP2 today, and one of the features I was looking forwards to using was the automatic speaker phone.
I turn the phone over on a call, and the Mute button lights up. Then it vibrates and the speaker turns on. Then it vibrates off, then on. Sometimes it just turns onthe Mute, but not the speaker.
Obviously I have made sure that Phone->Options->Advanced Turn on speaker when flipped is checked.
The speakerphone works fine when I press the button.
I did try searching for this, and all I found was someone whom upgraded to 6.5 and didn't recheck that option.
I'm using stock, just out of the box. Installed apps -> Facebook, PockeTwit, ZoomBar Addon.
Any help is as always, greatly appreciated. Thanks in advanced!

It's not just turning it over, but putting it *facedown* on a flat surface. Did you try that?

I'd say that unless you've been setting it down on an uneven surface -- or not actually setting down at all as the other guy suggests -- there must be something wrong with your phone.
There's no setting/configuration that would cause the inconsistent erratic behavior you describe -- going on then off, vibrating, etc -- if it's setting on a flat table-top or similar.
Got a new phone yesterday. Went to the store, called the store, set my phone down and said "Isn't this supposed to be on speaker now?" and that was that lol.
Thanks for the help guys
Hey all, need some help here.
short story - can't power up my device, since power botton stopped working.
anyonw knows a way to turn on the device otherwise?
(tried reset by reset button, plug to pc, to charger..)
longer story- yesterday i realized i can hear only on speaker phone, so i thought it is a bug and tried to reset the device (soft) and realized the power button isn't working as well, which increased my suspicion of a bug, and smart enough i just unplugged the battery and since then can't turn it back on..
thanks
I have same problem several times, and I have no idea why these happen, any ideas?
When its happen, I try call from another phone to my, and nothing happen phone not ring, but I heard normal sound from calling phone.
I would see if I could get the phone to hard reset. I know you need to push the power button but it may work for this purpose just not tell the software to turn back on.
Hard Reset:
With phone off push and hold the send and end buttons while pushing the power button. Follow screen instructions.
If you cant then you will have to return it I am guessing.
Nothing
nope, i tried also to hard reset but nothing works, as time goes i get the feeling that the phone is ok but the power button is the one breaked.
i guess i have to take it to a lab sometime this week.
thanks anyways

it might be your proximity sensor..
Whenever you make a call and hold the phone near your ear the proximity sensor detects this low distance between your phone and you and turns the screen off (maybe to save battery) ..
it means your proximity sensor might be damaged...
I'd recommend you to download CPUZ and check if the proximity sensor is working properly by holding your hand near and from the phone.. you should get 2 values:
0 cm while holding your hand near the phone
5 cm while holding away
you can also check out the lg hidden menu by typing in dialer
3845#*975# - lg e975
3845#*970# - lg e970
in the hidden menu goto DEVICE TEST then INDIVIDUAL ITEM then KEY PRESS TEST ..
Test it by holding your hand near away as i explained above ..
if the proximity sensor is working well.. I'd recommend you to factory reset
thanks I will give that a go.
btw I have already tried a factory reset.
