touchscreen deactivates with speakerphone on...permanently??? - Touch Pro2, Tilt 2 Windows Mobile General

Hi Guys,
Ive noticed that sometimes when i use the speakerphone (either by pushing the on-screen button or flipping the phone over), it works fine. However, once the call is over, the touchscreen is deactivated it seems. Nothing works. Cant press anything. As for the hardware buttons, the windows button works, and the power button works. The volume, call, and end call buttons do nothing.
Not sure if this is relevant, but I only notice it if the phone was flipped over (with touchscreen down). If i used speakerphone with the phone facing up, doesnt seem to happen.
The only ways ive found to fix this are to soft reset with that little button under the cover, or to miss a call. (obviously, if a call comes in, I cant answer it as none of the ways you'd use to answer a call still work). After the call is missed though, the touchscreen comes back to life.
any ideas??
thanks

havent notice quite this.. but something similar...
when i wanna make a quick phone call
i open the keyboard type name of contact,
select the contact and hit enter to make the
phone call.. when i close the keyboard to turn
the phone to my ear, half of the screen looks
normal and have of it looks all MESSED UP...
im sure is not a hardware problem or anything.. ( well i hope so )
i think is not bcuz it only do it on that situation..
besides that my screen is normal..

bump
phone been around a while now...maybe someone else noticed this problem...

I've noticed that sometimes my phone will go into "sleep" mode like when you quickly press the power button. Maybe a quick tap of the power button to wake it up will help.

Reset when sliding out keyboard

Hello boys
from about 1 week i have this problem on my device, if i have the keyboard out and write an sms or typing an url when slide the keyboard in the device automatically reset itself...
anyone knwo this problem or the solution ?
Thanks for the help
Nicola
Hi,
I have a problem with my keyboard too, I've searched the forum but i didn't see the same problem as i have or the solution. My phone's screen turns off when i slide out the keyboard. Actually phone stays on but the light of the screen goes off. when i slide it out i'm able to write something or make calls. when i slide it back, screen keeps itself off and i press the sleep key "2 times"!(screen looks like off but it isn't) to reopen it again. I press the sleep key for the first time to turn the screen actually off, and press it one more time to turn it on again. i did a soft and a hard reset to the phone, didn't solve it. I don't think it is a software problem but i hope it is

These are the photos of the occasion.
The screen keeps itself on until the end of the slide. it turns off then. when I slide it back, i can see the backlight of the screen and the light of the buttons.( i don't think that you would see it on the photo, 3rd photo).
I'm waitin for your help guys, thank you so much.
Isn't there anyone to help my problem? I'm waiting for your answers..
I'm also having this same issue. When I slide the keyboard in it just turns off sometimes. At first I thought it might be a physical issue with the internals of the phone and the sliding impact of the keyboard was causing it to reset, but it doesn't do it all the time for me. I can jam on it and nothing happens sometimes, or other times it resets from a gentle nudge. I am running Energy GTX from August 26 or 28, whatever version that was.
I also have this issue now where my end key is unresponsive. Doesn't. Work. Ever. and that is so freaking annoying. If anyone has any insight here PLEASE share it.
Thank you.
Wow i just saw your message and suprised. Is that my phone you're using? Because I have that end key problem too. It works when I press too hard. And I have 3rd problem now. I think my phone's microphone is not working. People i'm talking on the phone is always complaning about that they can not hear my voice or it's too low. Now I have three problems:
1. Phone is turning itself off when i slide the keyboard out.
2. End key is not responsive.
3. Microphone is low or its broken..
Maybe reflash your phone to origional rom.
I was using WM 6.5 without hardspl when the problem occured. then i did hardspl and installed custom roms, i even tried with WM 6.1. It didn't help about any of it. I'm used to not using the keyboard actually, but the problem with microphone is annoying..
Same problem with the keyboard

I have the same problem !!!! Did you manage to resolve because I am sure this is software relatred. I had android on my phone prior to this and fixated that the issue is coming from this
Had the same keyboard issues, found that it was a battery issue. when you shut the phone, the battery would loose connection.
bluewaterkayak,
more info on the loose battery connection.
i have the same problem with sliding the keyboard down and the screen turning off. closing it, pressing the sleep button 2x, turns the phone back on. i can slide the keyboard down just enough and hold it to type out a text, any more and it'll go off.
THIS IS SUPER ANNOYING
Bumpski. Really need this fixed.
What ever you last installed take it off. If not you might have to go factory restore
It's definitely not a software issue. The screen itself somehow gets disconnected when slid up all the way.
Took it apart and found nothing obvious wrong. Is there something to look at exactly when the slider is at the end of it's travel? The cables seemed fine. The problem only happens at the end of travel.
I cleaned the slider area and pried some contacts down. Nothing. Put it back together and same problem.
Ideas??

Tried the fix posted in the last link with Kapton Tape.
Didn't work.
Any ideas?
I have the same issue. My old VZW TP2 is sitting in a drawer in my house because people kept saying they couldn't hear me on the other end. Also on my new one, when i slide the keyboard in/out sometimes it turns off, not always though. I figured it has to be a hardware issue as well, if i do it slowly nothing happens but if i just slide it open and let the springs kick in, it usually cuts off once it 'snaps' to the end of the sliding path.

Couple questions new to phone

Coming from the EVO I have a couple questions.
- Is there a way to get the phone when done with a call to go to the home screen? My EVO was like this and I have searched through settings and can't find anything.
- Also I drive a lot so when I press my bluetooth button on all my past phones the phone would wake up and let me make a call without touching the screen. But when I press my bluetooth button the phone doesn't even wake up. Sometimes the vlingo app will come on and tell me how many calls I have missed, but it doesn't let me make a call through the headset.
If I reach over and press the power button then the phone turns on and the vlingo starts up. I don't care for the Vlingo but will live it until I get brave enough to root to freeze it.
But is there a setting my phone will wake up the screen when I press the call button on my headset?

Phone key pad not re-displaying

I have a google unlocked galaxy nexus phone with JB installed. Sometimes when making a phone call using the dial pad, the display will not turn back on when removed from my ear. Today I was on a call and needed to use the keypad and all I had was a blank display. Nothing I did could get it to display. I had to remove the battery to end the call. Sometimes this happens and all I have to do is tap the power button to bring up the display. Is this a known problem? Is there a setting that I can adjust? Thanks.
Hi jjthenovice,
did you find a solution for this behaviour - I posted a similar experience, but so far nobody responded to my post.
Having the power button set up to end the call is A solution - but not a very good one.

Call screen refuses to disappear, buttons non responding

I'm using ARHD 9.7.2 and having issues everytime I end a call.
Not sure if this is ROM issue, but it started appearing after I flashed the rom.
Sometimes, but quite often, call ends and everything works fine, but after a short while, when I turn on the phone, I get the full call screen with grayed out "end call" button (from the previous call), I can't click on it (on the big red "end call" button), but I can click on the buttons to the left and right (contacts and dialer I think).
Sometimes I can kill the call screen and go back to home screen, but it does pop up after a while again, usually with completely unresponsive buttons. I can't even get the restart menu, so I have to turn off the phone by holding on button.
Anyone know what is causing this issue? It's really annoying.

FIX: Dropped Calls on Custom MM ROMS

If you're using a custom Marshmallow ROM, whether it's Resurrection Remix, Vanir, CandySix, Bliss, Xenon, or any other, and you're experiencing calls being dropped, I think I might have found a solution for you, and it's easier than you think! After hours of downloading, flashing, and testing different ROMs, calling friends and family to test for calls getting dropped, google searching everywhere, etc. I found out that a particular combination of settings might be triggering the phone to drop calls, or as I'll explain in a minute, to hang up.
As it turns out, there are a couple of settings in the new custom ROMs that might cause the problem. The first one is the "Tap to Wake" setting. This nice little feature allows you to turn on the screen by double tapping it. The second setting is the "End Call" by pressing the power button. Thanks to our lovely LG G3 back power button, it's really easy to finish a call by pressing the power button.
Both settings are wonderful and harmless on their own, but when they're combined they will definitely cause problems. Let me explain. You see, when you're making a phone call, once you dial and hold the device near your ear, the proximity sensor detects your face and turns off the screen. This avoids unwanted touchscreen taps (Your ear might accidentally touch the hang up button if the screen was on). However, when the screen is off, your ear still touches the screen multiple times while you talk, your ear becomes like a finger, tapping and double-tapping the screen while you're happily talking to your other half.
Now, normally, this ear-tapping doesn't cause any problems, the screen is off after all, right? Well, bear with me a little longer and you'll see what's going on here.
You might think that when the screen is off, double tapping it sends a "turn on screen" signal to the phone, right? Well, not really. The double tap only simulates a power button press... That wouldn't normally cause any issues, right? But, if you're in the middle of a phone call, what does the power button do? Yes, you guessed it right. It hangs up.
So, that's what's happening, calls are not getting dropped, you are literally hanging up! with your ear!
FIX: Do not have both "Tap to Wake" and "End Call Power Button" enabled. You have to disable one of them.
I really hope this helps a lot of unsuspecting users like me that were concerned about this call dropping issue. Hopefully ROM developers notice this too and help us fix it for real so that we can have both settings enabled.
and so in the sense that i never enabled that to begin with what is the countermeasure?

If you don't have any of those settings enabled, then you're good! If you're still experiencing dropped calls, it might be the modem, or the kernel, the signal, the ROM, it could be anything... that's why I spent hours trying to find the cause of my calls getting dropped... hope you find yours...
