Hey all,
I know that in contacts you can set the notification LED's colour to be a certain colour for a certain contact, but I was wondering, is it possible to use an app or something or manually set it for each function?
Like when I get a message if it could be say purple and when facebook notifications come through could it be blue, when I get a call it could be green, etc.
Unless the G3 already has this feature built in (In which case I'm missing it) does anyone know of a way to do this? I had an old LG phone and I was able to do it with that but I'm not sure if you can on this one. Can you without rooting or is there a way to with root?
Thanks in advance guys!

Try out Light Flow. The link I provided is for the free version. If it works out for you you can upgrade to the paid version which will give many you more options.
Light manager works and does not require root
Cheers guys
Light flow doesn't require root to function well...
Sent from my caseless LG G3, because I believe in myself

is there a way to have the led flash orange or some other color when there is an unread text message or email?
I know that the blackberry curve and the blackjack2 both have this feature and was curious as to whether or not a wm6.1 phone could do the same.
Thanks
Try this out see if you like it. Then get the most current version.

Yah thats all it does, where you looking for something different...
It would be cool to find something where you could set various LEDs as notification for various messages...i.e. blue led = vmail, amber led = email, green led = text, etc.
im having troubles getting dontforget to work... does anyone have it working on 6.1 yet?
Hi all,
Is it possible to make the LED flash indefinitly when receiving a notification that makes the LED flash?
I'm running NextSense, but I'd like to know if it'd be possible on stock as well.
Thanks

Yes, I want this too.
By the way, Handcent SMS can do this; however it doesn't interact quite well with the stock sms app, and I don't want to use Hadcent UI as it's ugly as f***
However, you may like it. It can also set different LED colors and LED flash interval etc. Pretty neat, and IMO showing it should be possible to implement similar functionality into the stock messaging app...
Is there any way to change the notification light through the settings? I tried searching around. For anyone who uses GO SMS, the notification LED color is a greenish orange. However for some reason my phone has change it to blue. Trying to change it back.

Try light flow. The app is available on play store for free. Although when I used it I noticed that with the stock launcher it turned on voice feedback (from talkback), every time I opened a folder it gave me very loud and irritating audio feedback.
The author of the app suggested using another launcher. I haven't tried another launcher though.

I just tried Light Manager. Free in the Play Store. Works great so far.
Only problem is that it has to be open the whole time for it to work which is understandable, but a bummer. I know that Handcent SMS app can change the color in its own settings, but I just like Go SMS better.
Hi All,
After smashing my first A5 I have now bought an official Samsung neon flip case. Just like this one:- https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PdF-rTbBmTk
It glows around the edge if I get a call, but it doesn't activate if I get a SMS (via Textra) whatsapp or Viber message. Does it only work with stock SMS program? Or am I missing a setting somewhere.
Thanks in advance.
If I use the stock SMS the cover flashes so it would appear the screen flashing notification for the cover isn't compatible with 3rd party apps including WhatsApp and Viber
Hope they update this

not possible
Why shouldn't it be possible? There are so many Notification LED-Apps, this is possible for sure if somebody wants to code it. (I would, but unfortunately i can't code...)

If someone codes it, yes.
There's an app called Edge Mask https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=kim.uno.s8
If you enable the "edge lighting" and the "wake up the screen" you can get a similar effect for any notification.
Make sure to pick a bright color and increase the edge lighting size.
Hey there fellow XDAers, I came across a bug (attached screenshots) where my notifications on my normal lockscreen were the notifications of the always on display (the AOD was not activated, I dont use it), and now I want this more than anything. Does anyone know how I can accomplish this?
Good question. Idk how to edit or manipulate mine like I could on my Samsung.
Hey, yeah I understand you cause I don't know neither.
Umm...I too want the feature of lock screen cleavage lol

have you tried to activate the AOD and then disable it ? if not you can always stop apps from giving on screen notifications restart the phone and then reactivate them with a fresh boot. it worked for me when that happened when i first bought the phone i have the 512gb version of the pixel 6 pro (raven)
