It is not creating short cut, but Knock Code is to wake up and unlock ( with your unique knocking pattern) from black screen. I am using Oppo Find 7 now, it has the two tab to wake up , but still have to unlock to achieve security, but the LG doing two thing in one....
Anyone please......
u cant
It's kernel level functions. It's not possible.

Knock on and knock code to unlock

Does anyone know of any way to enable the knock on and knock code unlock while using custom roms or does it need to be built into the rom being used?

It must be built in to the Kernel and it must be a feature of the device you are using. Your question is very vague though.

My apologies if I were overly vague, the G3 has a feature called a knock code, allows you to unlock and turn on the phones screen without having to hit the power button. You answered my question well enough thoigh, I assumed the phones ability to detect touches while the screen was off would be a kernel level feature. The lock screen itself though I was not sure if it would be a separate apk utilizing that hardware feature.

[Q] Knock code and knock features on CM12 ?

Hi guys, I was wondering if I install any cm12 rom on my G3 (855) will i have the knock features still working ?

Okay thank you very much I'll stay on AndroidNow for now
Also to note is that most phones using knock code required xposed framework which is no longer supported in lollipop. They also didn't work while screen was off... So I'm guessing it may never happen to the extent you want it too.

What? Knock-on code works great on v20F/5.0/Lollipop without Xposed, or even without root. It's a feature that LG implented in their ROMs, it has nothing to do with root/xposed etc..
And it does work on a rooted device running a stock(-based) ROM with the screen turned off.
I meant phones running Knock Code that are not LG.... Sorry if that wasn't clear enough.
Knock code was a module within xposed framework to allow knock code on NON LG devices but only with screen on.

How to enter G4 Hidden Menu?

As the title says, whats the code to enter hidden menu in LG g4? Tried 3845#*818# but didnt work (mine is H818P model).
My goal is to turn off fast dormancy if possible. Thanks
Same here on h815 the code 3845#*815# doesn't return anything.
same whats the hidden menu for?
I need to access it to turn off fast dormancy
No one?
This maybe quite important to people in some countries with no fast dormancy support. No carrier fast dormancy support while phone requests it = bad battery drain.
Try 277634#*# I believe poking in the menu I saw mention of Fast dormancy.

Oh sir you are the man! Thanks!
If you using Nova Launcher maybe you can find it under "Activities" and set it to shortcut or gesture. I did it before with some smartphones.

I'm using 818p and it works..
Try to activate developer options, maybe it works then.
Yes it works now.
277634#*# on T-Mobile works but the UI is so Froyo style... Worst UI ever specifically on a Lollipop device, on the LG G3 at the Lollipop update they updated the UI at the hidden menu as well but it was never Android 2.1 style, now is the question how this even got to that so old looking UI that the G4 never saw that version of Android!
BTW,
The 277634#*# menu is not the full hidden service menu like in the 3845#*8xx# menu. I still looking for the full menu code because I can't find it through Nova Launcher Activities.
277634#*#
working on my LG H815TR.
It's service test menu.
working on uk g4 h815
interesting the svc menu has a mcafee status set as disabled

Clearly their resolve crumbled in the face of me boycotting them! [emoji28]
Seriously, this was sorely needed. I had sworn off buying another LG in large part because of the lack of updates to the locked Canadian models. I would still like to see them allow bootloader unlocking of all variants, but if timely security patches start coming, I would consider them again for my next device. Good move LG [emoji106]

Well... we are almost to mid April and still no update for the US998.

Seconded, we've all heard the same crap from various oem's before and none of it has been true, so I'll take this with a healthy dose of scepticism till events prove otherwise.
Read this on a couple sites yesterday and almost died of laughter!
I should have learned from the V20, but I guess I'm a slow learner. Can't wait to dump LG for good when the Pixel 3 XL comes out.
Don't hopeful. Until now, H930 and H930DS user still unknow what time they receive update Oreo.

Nothings changed. This is pr talk. "Lets get some news coverage and tell people we really changed"
If you're a global smartphone manufacturer and still dont have a team working on updates in 2018, you're seriously doing it wrong.

No, because this phone didn't launch with Oreo last year. Everyone needs to forget Treble for this phone.
Treble wouldn't have any benefit anyway for him. His bootloader locked phone would still be bootloader locked. Treble is not the magic elixir to allow dev work on phones.
Treble iks to theoretically give faster updates.
For dev work, Treble only helps devs on phones that already have bootloader unlock and have methods to flash root .

I am trying to get hotspot working on Oreo.
Didn't get a chance to add apn under N so the menu is hidden. I can reset apn and see the menu for a split second so I know it is in there.
Any idea how to get it?

Yeah, I heard about this Sprint APN lockout on Oreo. It's Sprint's attempt to carrier lock down the phone even more. For editing the APN, do any of the hidden menu app still work on the Sprint phone?
See this post for the Sprint LG G4:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/sprint-g4/general/change-apn-hidden-menu-root-t3631679
Change apn in hidden menu. No root needed
TheMadScientist said:
Go over to the gsm unlock thread. Download the hidden call menu apk. Go to the iot settings near bottom. Then LTE settings. And APN. Here u can add edit and select your apn. Cannot be done in stock settings app or reg## menus without msl. This allows for no root and no msl. Editing. Lol. About damn time we figured this out

I'm not sure which thread he's talking about, but there are several hidden menu apps on Google Play.

I dont have the link right off but google hidden menu call apk not hidden call menu
Today (14th of April) will be the 92nd day since last update for the TIM H930G (same for H930 and H930DS variants).
Remember when LG announced that their amazing phone is Android Enterprise certified, that there will be 90 days between each update in worst case scenario? Oreo update in Q1 2018 ?
This is my first and last LG phone and I'm already thinking about ditching it. I'd rather flash custom ROMs but they're locking their phones like no other manufacturer.
