Hello everyone. I'm running into an issue trying to root my Fire TV. I just received it yesterday and sideloaded TowelRoot V3 (tried V2 and V1), SuperSU, and Busybox. I install Towelroot and it displays that I should have root. However when I try to install SuperSU it fails. I've tried this numerous times. My FTV firmware version is 51.1.1.0_user_511070220. Any tips?

I've searched, but not found any relevant info.
Tried CF-auto root, and it appeared to work. Got a pass, but I ended up at the "seandroid enforcing" screen.
Installed TWRP, and when restarting, was asked if I wanted to install supersu.
Got a "supersu installer stopped working" and after updating supersu via the market, I got:
"There is no SU binary installed, and SuperSU cannot install it.this is a problem.if u just upgraded to android 4.3
you need to manually re-root.consult the relevant forums for your device"
How do I manually reroot? Just try cf auto with Odin again?
Or is there a different method?
Would highly appreciate the help!
Edited to add: I repeated the rooting attempt via Odin, and installed the supersu update zip via recovery. This time it asked about disabling Knox, and now I'm rooted.
I am having some rooti issues with my i747, and I already have a custom rom installed. After installing SlimKat 4.4.4 today, (previously running Liquidsmooth v2.1 4.2.2), I go to check my root privileges using RootChecker, and it tells me that I do not have proper root access. Given that this device has been rooted prior to my installation of SlimKat, and the fact that Superuser has been working fine for me in the past, I try to re-root using ODIN, and that wouldn't work either. Also, updating Superuser is not an option, due to my root access being lost. Is there a way to root my device without having to go back to the stock ATT rom, or is that my only option?

Try flashing this in recovery.

I used supersu to root my original phone on 4.1.1. this was maybe 2 years ago. i want to update to 4.4 but the root doesnt let me, so i uninstalled SuperSU hoping it would unroot and tried to update usin g"software update". still nothing--hitting the butting doesnt even register a click.
tried using odin to update but it stalls on one of the early processes (then i realized i needed root for this step!)
so i went to DL SuperSU again but installing it doesnt work: "There is no SU binary installed and SuperSU cannot install it. This is a problem!"
What to do??
The simplest way to get to 4.4.2 via OTA updates would be to use Odin and flash back to completely stock 4.1.1.
Using Odin will wipe all data files on the phone.
I have the T700 on 6.0.1 and I wonder if there is root for it yet. I already tried the C-F Autoroot but that just causes it to go on a bootloop.
Yes flash SuperSU via twrp using supersu 2.77 or above
What happened was
See what happened was I dont have TWRP that went away when I updated with smart switch.
I Have 2 Fire TV Gen 2 boxes.
Boot Have Fire OS 5.2.6.3.
The First is Brick through a error in twrp flash Installation (Power off while i install xposed).
This had 5.2.6.3 installed an i could root it with King root 4.1 and i had install twrp and Flash the 5.2.6.2 preerooted Version.
Now i Have a new gen 2 Box with 5.2.6.3 but the Kingroot doesnt work on it.
I try Ed 4.1, 5.0.1, 5.3.5 and over Windows Kingroot.
Is there a way to Use King root to root?
Or is there a other way to root or to install the twrp Recovery without root?
The Strange is that at the Old brick fire tv Box the King root has worked and now on the New Box it doesnt work.
All i need is the twrp Recovery installed.
first time root is only possible with a version up to 5.2.1.1
if you have rooted on this version you can install twrp and newer pre-rooted firmware.
no way to install twrp to root after 5.2.1.1
Strange on the fire tv what now has a brick has the root Ing work with 5.2.6.3
Which version is successfully root samsung j200g
I too have this 5.2.6.3 fire stick,.. can i flash those prerooted firmwares or anything like that? thanks.
