I have the T700 on 6.0.1 and I wonder if there is root for it yet. I already tried the C-F Autoroot but that just causes it to go on a bootloop.
Yes flash SuperSU via twrp using supersu 2.77 or above
What happened was
See what happened was I dont have TWRP that went away when I updated with smart switch.

I used Kies to update my previously rooted 5.0.1 Note 4. I now have Android 5.1.1 Lollipop VPU4COG5. With the update, my TWRP recovery was removed. I flashed TWRP recovery 2.8.1.1 via Odin and then, lacking a tar file, downloaded and flashed BeastModeStock 1.0-N910P-OG5.zip, which is shown installed on my phone. Problem is, the phone is NOT rooted. I cannot open superSU, getting a message "There is no SU binary installed, and SuperSU cannot install it. This is a problem!..."
Any suggestions?
Thanks

All you did was flash the OG5 pre rooted kernel over your pure stock odexed rom. This alone does not give you root. If you wait a little while you can download and flash the new rom i'm uploading right now. It's pre-rooted and all you have to do is flash the rom and go about your business. Look for a new rom thread later tonight.
I had used cf-auto-root to root my note 2 running build number KOT49H.I317MVLUDNH2 (koodo 4.4.2 stock). Worked great no issues, after root I used flashify to install twrp-2.8.7.0-t0lteatt.img.
My issue is recently I noticed an update from koodo (KOT49H.I317MVLUDNH3). Using kies I installed this update, which caused the phone to loose its root. I tried using cf-auto-root to root the phone again but no supersu.
Can anyone point me to a root method that will work with the new update? Notice the difference is the 3 at the end of the build, the os version remains 4.4.2.
Thanks in advance
You could just flash supersu via Odin or TWRP and you'll have it back again...
Also....2.8.7.0 is a bit buggy atm...so 2.8.6.0 may be a better choice...g

how do you flash supersu ?
I tried to root my galaxy note 2 using odin 3.10.7 and it was successful but after checking "about device" at the very bottom it says my phone is official which it is not, it was rooted successfully so I don't know why it is saying that. Also, supersu was not installed immediately after rebooting from odin, I had to manually download supersu from the play store. When I open up supersu, it says "There is no SU binary installed, and SuperSU cannot install it. This is a problem!"
What can I do ? thanks
Flash twrp to the note 2 via Odin. Then flash supersu.zip from twrp.
HI, I got my son a wifi P600 note 2014 for his birthday a while ago, and it came with kitkat on it, so i was able to update it, install twrp, and root it. Now i bought another one for my girlfriends son, but his came with 5.1.1 LMY47X.P600UESDPL1 already on it. I cant find any information on whether or not i can install twrp, and then do the cfauto-root just like i did on the other one. Has anyone out there done this yet, or is it pretty safe to try it and i can fix a brick with Odin? I've been a Motorola and HTC guy, don't have the whole Samsung thing down yet.
Thanks, Mark
If CF has LP on autoroot website its good.
That exact version number of 5.1.1 is not on the autoroot website. But I believe the update on the tablet was just some security updates, so I thought mAybe auto root would still work. But if it don't work will it just fail or will it brick it. Can I use Odin and a stock fw file to at least get back to stock from a brick?
Just reread what you said, and now I'm thinking your saying that as long as Cf-autoroot page has a 5.1.1 lp version for the p600 it will work on any 5.1.1 update of the p600?
Why not just do it the old fashioned way? Flash twrp using odin and then directly boot into twrp and flash the latest supersu binary from the chainfire's website. I just did this with PL1 firmware and everything is running fine. Installed busybox, fdroid and adaway eveything working just fine with root permissions
Just so everyone knows it did work rooting with cf-auto-root , then I was also able to flash twrp with Odin. Everything is working great.
Hey I have the same tablet and version but new to this topic and don't know how to root my tablet. I'm searching for a guide for my device. Do you have some tips? Or maybe will explain how you did it?
I've got an unlocked Tab S 8.4 Y (Australian LTE) edition that I had rooted previously with CF-Root. Since the upgrade from 4.4.2 to 6.0.1 I can't re-root it. I tried to apply what was supposed to be the correct CF-Root using ODIN, and I've tried installing SuperSU using TWRP. In all instances I get “Recovery is not Seandroid Enforcing” on the initial boot screen, and it shuts down and reboots continuously. A factory reset doesn't fix this, and I have to reflash 6.0.1 to get the tablet to boot. Any advice? Might the Unified Android Toolkit work?
SU has been nagging me to update for a couple of weeks so I finally did it. Now my phone gets stuck at the Verizon logo.
rooted s-off
stock lollipop 5.0.1
TWRP 3.0.0.0
I've updated SU a few times in the past without any problems. Can anyone tell me what version I can try to downgrade to? I don't even remember what it was on before or what version the new update was. Should TWRP be updated to another version? Need to get my phone working ASAP.
Thanks
Got it sorted out. Flashed SuperSU v2.79 and it's booting again. SuperSU v2.82 must not be compatible with TWRP 3.0.0.0. Not sure if the latest TWRP is compatible with stock 5.0.1 or not and I don't feel like finding out. :/
