[Q] Flashing stock n7100 Rom via Odin failed. Need help!! - Galaxy Note II Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

My n7100 got soft brick out of blue. it kept stuck on Logo and there was no way to make it to main menu. anyways i tried to flash stock rom that I found online and it gave me fail!, When I ran it again it stoped showing logo. instead it keeps showing update failure messege. any ideas how to fix it please
I have been running stock rom, never tried to root it and i have decent knowledge in using odin (I've done rooting and flashing roms many times before with my previous devices)

I may be wrong but I don't think you can flash the stock ATT ROM on a Rogers device and vice versa. Also, the ATT ROM contains a different modem that may not work well for us on Rogers. Your best bet is to keep the ATT ROM and freeze/delete the bloatware using Titanium Backup Pro and flash the Rogers modem.
Or run a custom ROM.

Yeah, I'm currently running CM10 but I find it has WAY too many bugs for me to use it, things constantly crashing, graphical glitches. The LED doesn't light up for anything except charging.
I originally did use TiBa to delete the bloat, no problem. Except AT&T replaces the Address Book with their own version the "AT&T Address Book" which syncs with some AT&T server every time I open it, super annoying.
Then why not try using one of the custom ICS/JB stock-based ROMs? As he said, i'm pretty sure it's impossible to flash a Rogers ROM on an AT&T device.
And.... which build of CM10 are you using? You could always try Task & Ktoonsez CM10-based ROM. Never experience a graphical glitch (though, i never did even on older CM10 builds, either), hardly ever have anything crash..... and as far as i'm aware, even in stock CM10, you actually have to go into the settings or find an app and manually set up the notification LED colors and what they blink for.

Where can I find one of these ROMs? I've searched for them but I haven't found anything. I asked someone and they suggested an AOSP, but I wasn't able to find any, so I used a AOKP ROM and when I booted the phone all that displayed was some 8bit looking gradient from Yellow to Purple, got worried and rebooted my phone and reinstalled Cyanogenmod.

I installed Cyanogenmod from the ROM Manager app. This ROM, specifically.
Also, when I install a ROM, can I do it from CWM? Or do I need to install using Odin?

That link you provided shows that it points to a Galaxy S2 ROM in the url. The link itself didn't work though when i clicked on it.
Try this ROM: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1766684
I wonder if the problem you're having is related to the build.prop
ATT have a device model name d2att while the Canadian variants have device model name d2can.
Search the forums add I think I've read something about that.
Also, even though you want to flash a Rogers Rom, make sure you use an ATT modem.

No, just get a cwm recovery and flash a AT&T modem.
Also, there's a unbloated AT&T stock ROM, why go for Rogers?
Go to twrp or cwm website and get the recovery for d2can instead of d2att. I'm not sure but it could be the source of your issue.

Im having similar problem and need help too
I also have this secure check fail:sbl2 problem, but what I did was diffident. installed ParanoidKangDroid custom rom and then i realized that i use allshare play from stock rom pretty much so i decided to put back to stock my GS3. I used odin 3.0.7 to do that. I download the original stock rom from sammobile exactly the puerto rico version (were i live), but as i said it gives me the sbl2 fail problem.
---------- Post added at 05:19 AM ---------- Previous post was at 05:07 AM ----------
As you see Im a noobie here and I have another question. I like ParanoidKangDroid in my device but cant install allshare play so th question is: If i flash the [KERNEL][AT&T][AOSP/Touchwiz][JELLYBEAN][4/6/2013] KT747 - LJ7 - KTweaker, Can I install allshare play then? if yes what do i need to install it. Is there any other 4.2.2 rom that i can use the kernel mentioned above? or is there any rom which has touchwiz integrated?

I had downloaded the one from the stock firmware page and flashed it with the custom recovery to eliminate that issue. What you are experiencing is a bootloader mismatch.
Can you explain me the correct entire process to do that?

This error is caused because a BAD USB CABLE. Please, use an original Samsung GGalaxy Cable. I had that problem with my GT-I9195. Fortunatelly it's working again.
The symptom was that i couldn't copy files from my computer to my smartphone.

[Q] [HELP] installed setuidoff now stuck in stock boot

So i have a T-Mobile Galaxy S4 SGH-M919, and the story goes like this
so i decided to root it, and used CWM, and installed superuser. Superuser read that there was no binary, so i searched on forums to help me out. Someone said that installing MDB-setuidoff.zip would help, and now it is soft bricked, stuck on the Galaxy S4 logo reading
"Kernel Not Seandroid Enforcing"
So i figured, that it was a kernel problem, so i looked for the stock kernel, and upon attempted installation, CWM recovery said it was aborted and not installed. At this point i said screw it, and decided to try and unroot, but now using ODIN 3.07, using the stock tar.md5 from galaxys4root website
when i try to flash the PDA, it reads "FAIL" and an error

If you had the 4.3 bootloader on your phone, you cannot use Odin to flash a stock ROM.

Based on your Odin printout in the first post you were flashing a modified 4.1.1 kernel to install root. This should be fine if you were on either the 4.1.1 or 4.1.2 stock ROM. If you were on the 4.3 stock ROM your root attempt is probably the source of the problem.
IMPORTANT How to proceed from here depends on if you were on 4.3 or an earlier version of stock.
Also, since this forum is for AT&T and Canadian variants; I see the title of the first post says i747 - is this correct? It matters.

ok, not to jack his thread, but what if you are on the 4.3 bootloader? i didnt do what he did, but i am stuck in a similar situation. I am on the 4.3 bootloader, but i do have a custom recovery installed. problem is i get an error when i try to wipe. Ive tried flashing stock 4.3 rom via sideload in stock recovery, and modified rom though twrp. both roms install fine, but dont boot, but they do freeze in different points so i know something is being flashed. ive also tried wiping in cwm and stock. im bout ready to flash anything to this phone. oh and a nandroid restore fails after boot img flashes.

From your message, you likely were on stock 4.3. Since you are able to get into recovery and download modes, you may try a restore via custom recovery. Please see the thread below on how to install custom recovery and do a stock restore ...

Before doing anything else, boot into recovery. If you are on a stock recovery the very first line will tell you that the system recovery is 3e
If you have one of the custom recoveries it will be different. If you have one of the custom recoveries, TWRP or CWM, you can use the link Larry299 posted earlier in this thread to restore your phone. If you are on the stock recovery and the 4.3 bootloader I don't know what to suggest.

There is a chance that being rooted will prevent you from using the OTA official update. I've seen reports of people being able to update to the official 4.3 while rooted, but I've also seen reports of people not being able to update.
Before you make that update, bear in mind that the official 4.3 bootloader, its name ends in MJB, is the one that will prevent you from ever going back to an older bootloader. Some of the devs and the more experienced on here have no problem with that. Others do consider it an issue. An alternative is to install the leaked 4.3 bootloader, it's name ends in MJ2. That bootloader will allow you to downgrade to the 4.1.1 or 4.1.2 bootloaders, or so I have read. There is information about this in the development and the general forums for our device.
To muddy the waters more; if you intend to sim unlock your device without gettings codes from your carrier you need to do it from the 4.1.1 official ROM. A point you can not return to from the official 4.3 ROM, or so I've read.

do a factory reset (full wipe), this simple step, most of the time will help (but you will loose all your data).
if it is still doesn't help at all, you might need to reflash rom again (preferred stock rom, but you will need to re-root back your phone).

N7105 not booting. Help Please!

Hi,
I have a N7105 with stock firmware. I have not flashed any ROMS or anything like that on this phone.
I woke up this morning and found the phone on the 'Samsung Galaxy Note 2' boot screen.
I had to take the battery out to turn the phone off.
I booted into recovery mode and all these 'E: Error....' messages popped up.
I clicked on the 'reset data/factory settings option', it asked me to confirm. I selected Yes and more red 'E: Error' messages popped up.
I haven't been in this forum since I owned a Samsung Galaxy S and was flashing 'Darkys ROM' back in the day. So it has been 4-5 years since I last flashed or installed a ROM on a phone.
I need some help please with fixing my N7105. I believe that my only option is to flash a ROM or something via ODIN? Any help/guidance would be much appreciated.
Thanks!

yes, use odin, flash custom recovery and then install rom with recovery.

Ahh this is so frustrating.
Just tried flashing stock rom again via ODIN and now I am getting this error in Odin..

read about SDS, cuz that's whatchappened to your device for 99%
Thanks.
I've done some research and found that the only fix is to take it in for repairs?

yes, you have to replace emmc chip on motherboard.
You can try to flash, but as you see and described it points to SDS.
