I'm rooted and have made a have few changes to my phone in general, but now it won't start up. It gets past the LG logo but then gets stuck at a black screen with the LED's cycling colours.
I've tried to factory reset it but it still gets stuck at the black screen. How do I fix this?
I has this a few days ago.
To fix it you will need LG mobile drivers and LG PC Suite installed.
Power off your G3. Then start it in download mode by holding the volume down button and connect a USB cable to your phone. The screen should show download mode. Connect your phone to your computer and start LG PC Suite. Don't worry if PC Suite doesn't recognise your G3. Go to the mobile device menu and select restore upgrade errors. PC Suite should download the latest firmware and install it. You will be back to a factory reset but your G3 will be working again ☺

I tried to fix the update errors but it said this update is not supported by Mac OS. I don't have a windows PC to use so what can I do now?
I don't have a Mac so not sure if this will work but search the G3 forums for advice on flashing a .kdz firmware directly to your phone. Make sure you find a .kdz that matches your G3 variant i.e. 16 or 32gb. Sorry but don't know if there is a Mac tool to do this. Good luck.

Thanks, Ill check that link out.
I'm finally on a PC and went into download mode but now my phones stuck at 0% doing a firmware update. It says don't disconnect the USB until the process is complete but I think I'm going to have to
When I did click fix software errors it said there were no errors to fix but I don't think I have all the drivers installed yet.
When I try go to download mode it keeps taking me to the firmware update screen and stays at 0%. Also the drivers aren't fully installing on this computer for some reason.

Install the LG united mobile driver first then LG PC Suite. Might be useful to reboot the Windows machine after that. Try having PC Suite running when you connect your G3. PC Suite might nag you about being unable to connect to your G3. Just cancel that and select restore upgrade errors. PC Suite should download the latest firmware before it flashes it to your phone. Check that your G3 is in download mode before you connect it to the Windows machine.
I'm assuming you've checked obvious things like turning off any firewall software that might block outgoing connections...

There are drivers and PC Suite for Mac on the LG website. That was all I needed to recover my G3 on my PC. I would try installing the unified drivers and PC Suite again. Start up PC Suite. Put your G3 in download mode and connect it to your Mac.
If that doesn't work and the unified drivers and PC Suite won't install on your friends Windows machine then I would run chkdsk and the system file checker.

I've got the drivers and PC suite for mac but anytime I try to 'fix update errors' a message comes up saying 'cannot run updating. Check device status and retry'. Then when I update the suite to the latest version, the 'fix update errors' option disappears from the menu. Ok I'll try those out on my friends PC when I have the chance.

Do you have a windows 7 PC? if you do, then you should not have any problem.. Phone will show up under com ports in device manager bit the com ports are hidden by default.. Further, you don't need to reset dates for lg flash tool, just search for megalock.dll file , google it...also google how to enable com ports in windows 7... You should be good to go

Try this.
In the part of the instructions where you disconnect the phone for 5 seconds, try disconnecting the phone, pulling the battery, and re initiate download mode (by holding volume up and volume down while plugging the USB cable into the phone). My green bar started moving immediately when the plug inserted into the phone. I've been trying to get this to work for the past 3 days. I hope it helps.
I'm going crazy here and I need my phone to work!
I have an LG G3 on Verizon.
I rooted it and edited a part of build.prop to change the DPI which got the phone stuck in a boot loop and kept popping up "the process com.android.systemui has stopped.
I tried clearing cache
I tried booting in safe mode
I then did a factory reset
My phone boots up to the Setup Wizard screen but I am STILL getting that systemui error and a com.android.phone and I can't get any further than that screen.
I then tried to use the LG FlashTool to just wipe the entire ROM and replace it with the stock one from Verizon.
This gave me a "Model Information Check FAIL!" error but I DO have the right ROM for my phone. There's only one for the Verizon G3 as far as I can tell
This led me to realizing that there is something in the build.prop that's making LGFlashTool think the proper rom actually isn't right.
I then installed the Android SDK so I can ADB into my phone. but whenever I run "abd devices" nothing shows up in the list.
I was told USB Debugging needs to be turned on in order for this to work, I don't remember if it's turned on or not with my phone and I can't get past the Setup Wizard to edit anything. I wonder if ADB is even running properly on my phone or if these errors are stopping it?
I will gladly paypal someone $20 if they can get this working for me.
Did you tried this?

One of my friends saved his phone by this guide
Download mode - LG PC Suite - Restore update error.
1. Remove battery
2. Boot phone into download mode
3. Open LG PC Suite - restore update error
This method have saved me a few times.
Will adb work in one of the recovery modes even if it wasn't enabled in the full boot mode? If so, start there.
Sent from my LGLS990 using XDA Free mobile app
Regarding your USB debugging question, you would have had to turn it on in order to root the phone originally, right? If so I imagine it would still be on unless you unchecked it. You have the proper drivers set up? Anytime I've encountered issues with adb devices not returning any results the issue has been drivers.
Good luck.

Yes it wont show. Its normal as your cell phone is not turned on. download the firmware manually by entering your imei or serial number/model no. Then install it. I dont have my pc and cannot recall the exact steps but its easy to figure out. Stay with the software use the available option . in doubt just google. You r just 10 mins away from fixing your problem. But downloading the firmware may take a while.

I have the same problem with my H815 and Windows 10. All drivers are set up correctly. In device manager, I can see the device and ADB Device, but LGUP won't recognize my G4. Obviously, LGUP is buggy...
Is there any better tooling to upgrade to a more recent ROM? Otherwise, I really would have to change to CM13 - upgrading is very easy and not any nasty USB stuff what in the end may not work at all...
