Kindle Facebook App

The Kindle Facebook app sucks. It just opens a web browser to mobile facebook.
I found a version of the regular facebook app that actually works great (besides the first post saying there is a newer version of the app but then you click on it and it says it cannot find it in the Amazon App store).
I would like to delete the kindle facebook app but extract the icon it uses as it looks better than the icon the regular facebook app.
I cannot uninstall it from settings-->applications
I did a search with root explorer and found this directory
/data/data/com.amazon.kindle.facebook
but there is nothing in it.
Any idea?

wat about /system/app (or equivalent?)

Try Titanium Backup, it can usually uninstall anything.

Which version of Facebook are you using? The .apk I used consistently gives me this error "[!] Login; An error had occurred during sign in. Please try again later."

Here is the apk I am using. I think I got it in another xda forum for another device. I searched fro facebook tablet.

So the facebook app goes to the m.facebook.com page (which kinda sucks).
The best thing to do is go to your web browser setting and force it to always use desktop web pages, then book mark facebook.com, this is WAY better than any facebook app.

I deleted Facebook and other apps I don't use with Titanium.​

I deleted the amazon facebook app with the root exporer (r/w mode) and took the recent facebook app from another android phone. Works perfectly.

For several days I have a problem with the facebook app. When I open the app it's say no internet connection, I try to refresh, but without success
I reinstalled the app but the same problem again
Only works when I first log out and then log in again but when i close the app and open it again its say no connection
And another question
How do I install stock htc sense calculator widget ? Is this the widget Calculator.odex ?
Sry for my bad english.

I don't use facebook app so can't help you with that... calculator widget is attached.. set permissions rw-r--r-- and owner to root/root

The facebook app sucks on the wildfire,
Try FriendCaster and Go!Chat instead

Any FB app alternative?

Whether it be this device, my nexus 4, stock roms, custom roms I cant seem to get notifications working for the facebook app. Anyone know any other app , or fixes for FB to work properly.

try Friendcaster (free on google play), it is a good alternative, but if you still want the original FB app notification to work,
1) find any Blackberry.
2) login to your FB account using Blackberry native FB app.
3) make sure you are logged in and you can see your FB stuff.
4) logout and you'll have the FB notification
i tried it and it worked, but i switched to Friendcaster because it is faster

Yes you can I have the app and even bought it, tagging people on photos and posts work and the is a Messenger on it too for fb chat, best fb app imo

I like tweakdeck! Great for Facebook, & the twitter! (also buzz & foursquare!)

What about a different version of Facebook.......inverted? lemme know if u want it

Facebook messenger problem

hii guys
i just tried to flash miui rom ,, every thing works fine except the facebook messenger
i cant open the app from the facebook ,, only if i go to the messenger app itself
any one have any idea what causing this problem ?!!
the app open for a sec then it close by it self !!!:crying:

Facebook App Tip??

So, every device I've owned, I've had to use Messenger since they started it, as the messaging portion of the original app is disabled. There are workarounds for rooted phones to re-enable messaging without messenger.
I found a way to do it on my stock Sprint LS991 G4. I went into the play store and hit disable auto updates, went into app settings and uninstalled updates to both facebook and messenger, then I disabled messenger. Since then I've had full access to messaging in the native app, not a single popup asking for me to install messenger.
Don't know if anyone else is interested in this, but I figured I would post it, as a lot of people hate messenger.

Using m.facebook.com allows messaging without the app too.

I would use TinFoil for Facebook. Not a battery hog too!

Even if I click on the link for Facebook Lite or search it directly on the play store it doesn't come up. I've been able to find a workaround and since it's free and legal I've put the download link below. Looks like they've just pushed it out to a few countries.

You can re-enable the facebook chat, no root required. Just did it on my brand new phone.
