Problem with facebook apps

Since last week, all my apps that link to FB (eg Seesmic, Pulse News) cannot log in. It will popup the fb page to let me key in email and password, but after trying for a while, it loads the same page again. I tried in a wrong password and it's able to tell me that the password is wrong. Facebook for Android is however okay.
Anyone with the same problem or can advise? Thanks.

You have this problem because you have a custom rom (kitchen?) without the sns apks! ;-)
You have to re-cook a rom with these apks or copy/paste with super user rights the apks inside this zip in /system/app/.

That is unlikely to be the case because
1. I did cook with SNS apks. Just double confirmed that I have snsprovider.spk and snsaccount.apk inside my /system/app folder.
2. Before last week, everything was working. Suddenly this problem happened last week, without me having changed the ROM or kernel.
3. It also coincided that during this period, I am experiencing weird problems with the facebook mobile site
a. I need to login every time
b. I cannot post any newsfeed. It keeps giving me Connection Error.
No one use experiencing the same problem?

I had the same issue for about a week. Then all of a sudden it started working again. I think it might be a facebook glitch. X

sync facebook birthdays calendar

I know this is simple, I've done it before, but now I've swapped from LeeDroid to CM7 ROM the calendar is different and I can't find how to sync my facebook birthdays to the calendar.
Anyone care to give me a reminder? Please.

Sync using google calender
1. In Facebook , go to upcoming birthday tab , and click on export birthdays -> provides you with a link
2. Go to google calender and add by URL
paste the URL u got and import
Ta da this is part of ur google calender now
if this is too boring , dere are free apps in market to sync facebbok events just do a search on em

There's a way of doing it on the phone without the need for 3rd party app, I've done it a couple of times before but I can't remember how now.

I do it on the same already described. I do not know any rather way aosp roms, with sense roms one can do it with facebook for htc sense (maybe you mean this way), but you cannot user this with aosp roms.

mate earlier when u set up a facebook account u wud get an option to sync , now only works with sense roms
for aosp roms this does not apply any more , good luck trying lol

The facebook sync also works with aosp roms, but only the contact one.
And I also use the described way for syncing birthdays and events, and it word very good on my aosp rom.

Yeah, your right. I think it was when I had Leedroid installed that I could do that. Makes sense (no pun intended) now that I can't because it was obviously the HTC Calendar app that could do this but this app isn't on the AOSP ROMs.

[Q] kwbr v2.0 and facebook contact sync

Is anyone else running this ROM and having trouble syncing their contacts? I have the latest Facebook app installed and running smoothly but when I go to add a Facebook account (settings > accounts and sync > add account > Facebook) it acts like a broken link.
It does state in the ROM thread that media apps were removed. Could that be the cause (lack of Sense for Facebook)?
I'm a Desire HD user myself but the Wildfire Facebook app doesn't seem to have the same contact sync options within the app itself.
Any help gratefully received.

have you downloaded the FB app from the market?

Yes. I had originally restored it via Titanium Backup but when I encountered this problem I uninstalled and grabbed it directly from the market. Didn't make any difference.

and everything else syncs fine?

Yes. I've not had a problem syncing anything else although Facebook is the only 'media' app installed. Other items that sync (google contacts / hotmail) have no problems.
I'm not very familiar with sense. What app does it use to sync Facebook contacts? Does it just use the Facebook app (like in AOSP roms) or is there a sense-based app that runs in the background?

There's a couple of apps, friendstream.apk and friendstreamwidget.apk I'm not sure if you need both pushed to the /system/app folder or if theres anymore things needed, im pretty sure I've seen a Facebook for htc sense before too. Best bet is to download a full sense Rom and compare then steal the apps you require and push them to there relevant folders.

When u press sync it will start the sync adapter for facebook. Probably something like
com.facebook.android
I don't sync my fb contacts because there are too many so am not willing to test this so if anyone could confirm that would be great.
If you load up your fb app, can you just log in? this will sometimes add the account to the phone.
Also, try clearing data and cache from app manager in settings, uninstalling then re-installing

Thanks for the suggestions Scratch. I'll have to s-off the wildfire for that so I'll give it a crack tomorrow.
I've tried everything short of the [extreme] action suggested by Scratch Arkoze. Will let you know how it all goes.

Hi,there is a workaround via unzipping rom and copy,paste apps required if you don't fancy s-offing.

com.htc.FriendStreamWidget.apk
Friendstream.apk
HtcFacebook.apk
SocialNetworkProvider.apk
from a different ROM (REMPuzzle) into the /system/app folder of the kwbr 2.0 zip, reflashed and viola, the sense/facebook syncing seems to be up and running.

from what I understand, you only need to have com.htc.FriendStreamWidget.apk if you have a widget set on screen, I believe it does not affect the Friendstream.apk but I may be wrong if someone can clarify?

Facebook messenger problem

hii guys
i just tried to flash miui rom ,, every thing works fine except the facebook messenger
i cant open the app from the facebook ,, only if i go to the messenger app itself
any one have any idea what causing this problem ?!!
the app open for a sec then it close by it self !!!:crying:

When use phone play any game or anything if I move mobile fast the app messnger facebook open for new massage and flash light open for 2 time and phone exit for any think I use
If I uninstall messnger facebook no problem happen
But now facebook update and I cant open chat without that messnger

I have make clear data for facebook app and messenger app and unistall app facebook and messenger and I stop option montions and install only messenger again the problem is back
I cant format my phone

Any help please I search on internet and I not found any solution
