Didn't see an NFC tag thread. I asked this in the MP Lounge but figured Nexus owners would really know since this is probably the phone most used NFC.
I don't know NFC tag specs very well, but this seems like a good deal, apparently a 4" distance read and it's "better" than "older" tech tags (whatever that means).
At $1 each, is this good? I plan to get some to play around with some NFC tag tasks.

It's a NTAG203 type, Highest ScanStrength of all, but not one combination of Phone-Tag goes up to 4 inch. The "best" phones goes up to 2 inch (4 cm) with this type of tag. www nfc-phones.org/nfc-tags/ (About Tectiles, SmartTags, Tag+, Mifare and much much more.)
The price, $ 1,-, depends also on the amount of tags and shipping, You want 1000 pc? shop around a bit .

No, 10 is fine, lol. Dunno what I'd do with 1000 of these.
$10 for about $12 shipped on this deal.
On this specs it says:
The SMARTRAC 38mm Bullseye NXP NTAG203 is one of the newest NFC tags available and of the highest quality. It has significantly improved performance over previous tags such as the Ultralight, Ultralight C and Mifare 1K. It offers 144 bytes of user memory and a reading distance of up to 10cm. They can be made read-only and are compatible with all (see note below regarding Sony Xperia) current NFC enabled devices and read/writers.
The reading distance of 10cm is where I got 4 inches from, is that BS?
You're saying this is a good quality one though? Is there a better deal you can point at if I just want 5 or 10 or should I just get this one?

For many, this ntag type is a good choice.
10 cm = 4 inch, yes, theoretical maximum for nfc. Every handset is different, I never read of a phone able to read from 2 inches. In tests, up to 40 mm is the maximum achievable distance.
I think the price is ok (shipping very cheap).
This NTAG type should work with all nfc enabled devices (mifare classic type not). Highest ScanStrength and reasonable storage.
You could also consider; what is most convenient for me? Stickers, key fob, round or square, outdoor?
I just received NFC tags from tags for droid.
I wrote a few and they work just fine. My package even came with a key fob which is awesome.
I got 10 + key fob for $15.99 shipped.

Hello all,
I have became curious about this technology and wanted some feedback and recommendations on which one is best for our phone, my main use will probably be, movies and a little of gaming.
Thanks...:good:
Howdy,
I bought a cheap 20 Euro VR headset and also the Homido VR headset which cost me 80 euro and I ended up selling the Homido! simply because the screen is placed way to close and it's horribly pixilated which I was soooo disappointed about :crying:
http://www.ebay.ie/itm/Virtual-Real...roid-System-/161584765016?hash=item259f33d858
Go for something like this, not much pixelation and cheap to buy :good:
The Homido VR did have better FOV and overall was of better 3D quality due to it having nice Optics for it. I would go for something like I showed you but find something with good lenses for an overall better 3D experience ^^
Thanks for the suggestion.
I made the Google Cardboard one to see if I would like it before I invest in it and I loved it so I will be buying a more advanced pair. I saw some on Ebay that had bluetooth remote for $28 free shipping

I got a cardboard V2 and it works very well
I picked up the View-Master goggles (like Cardboard v2 but plastic construction) when they were on sale for $20 a week (or so) ago. I'm using them with my Zenfone 2 with good results.
A couple thoughts though:
- I'd recommend Bluetooth headphones with this - the headphone cord will be pinched by the closure if you are using wired. You can also hear the built-in speakers through gaps in the case, but you lose stereo effects.
- It is a bit heavy on the nose - I find it is more comfortable pushed up higher on my face.
- They are really cool & I do recommend them.
I went through (and discarded) a few movie apps before settling on "VRTV free". Some of the others had more difficult controls and didn't seem to get the spacing right for the 3D effect (very obvious on text where it was "double vision" instead of 3D). VRTV has a virtual theater mode for 2d movies and then 180 & 360 modes for 3d files. It also has a "re-center" command which is important since I am getting some gyro drift (in fact I came here looking for some sort of calibration app).
Homtom HT6 Review
For me but I think for most people this dual-sim smartphone will be very interested because it has very low price around $130
and at the same time it offers many useful features like high-capacity battery which actually has 6250 mAh capacity.
It has also medium strong hardware, support for 4G LTE network, fast charging and more. Below you can see video review
and also writen review really you can see photo samples and other screenshots.

YES, I have a Homtom HT6 and I'm generally very happy. A couple of observations:
Battery life is very good. After more than 4 days I was down to 20% and it estimated over one more day - but I charged it again anyway. Mixture of voice calls (in and out) and texts with a few short reading periods in Aldiko. I purposefully kept the wifi on permanently - even when out and about.
Unfortunately, I purchased mine in England and they didn't supply the proper charger - it was replaced with a standard UK type A proper, fast charger is being shipped from China but could take another 10 days
The screen is claimed to be gorilla glass 3, but mine picked up a couple of minor scratches within 24 hours - despite my being careful, it must have caught on the zip on my pouch but that should not have damaged gorilla glass.
Overall, though, I am loving this phone. Unlike my Doogee 550 all 16GBytes storage are available as one mount point. With 6 Gig of apps and data (includes a collection of technical books) it is showing 9.49 Gig free

Another warning: I installed a 32Gig SD card which was immediately recognised. It asked if I wanted to make that the default write disk, to which I answered yes. Unfortunately, if you do this it moves all of your data to the SD card but doesn't amend the applications. Everything loses its data. Changing the default write disk back doesn't help. I have got around it by using the file manager to copy important stuff back but be aware of this if you intend to install a card
Hy,
I found a case for the zte zmax 2, which is compatible with the ht6 (the dimensions of the zte zmax 2 being almost identical)
I created this post if you want to react
http://forum.xda-developers.com/android/general/homtom-ht6-case-t3342924
ht6
http://www.devicespecifications.com/en/model/99a33712
zte zmax 2
http://www.devicespecifications.com/en/model/b2d536e0
The zte zmax 2 is more square (like the ht6 is more round, you can see the 4 corners), but it's just aesthetic, the ht6 is well attached to the case
On this case, given that the camera is in the middle for zmax 2, the hole should be re-drilling.
The alimentation at the bottom, the hole fits, the volume plus and minus and the power, all work.
The hole for the audio jack for headphones must be expanded to the left of 2 millimeters.
And finally, for the headphones behind, it is necessary to open and connect the two holes, and out of a millimeter down.
The cutter and the dremel, it doesn't pose problems.
There is also this model (not tested) more protective, it seems to me seen the pictures, that the edges on the the top are more important, at least two millimeters thick on the top of the screen
It is found on
http://www.ebay.com/itm/NEW-ZTE-ZMA...hash=item35fc3f83d3:m:mkzpkwL-oXVgQP9DeNgmhzQ
and on
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...id=1458146064&ref_=sr_1_30&s=wireless&sr=1-30
Here is a zipped file with the pictures of the two cases
https://yadi.sk/d/CgzAHRcFqFQP8
p.s. : if someone buys the second model, please make a return on the edges for the protection of the screen.
p.s. : I don't know where is the mic on the ht6, may be another hole is to be expected for it.
ZTE ZMax2 has a camera in the middle. This simply implies that one cannot buy the hard casing which is lacking for HT6.

As per the title! Lost my phone a couple of days ago, had a mate 20x 5g
Back on my old mi max 3 now but should I reorder or is there anything else around?
Needs to be the same size or bigger with 5g dual Sim
I'm not asking for much right
Current UK used price with 2 year warranty is around 300 GBP
There is nothing the same size or bigger that I can find and definitely not 5G/Dual Sim. Best bet is to just buy another one. With manufacturers trying (maybe in vain) to push foldable phones it might be a while before we see another 7" standard phone.

I agree, but I am looking at a new phone as well and the price difference between the 18 month old Note20 Ultra and the brand new S22 Ultra is relatively small second hand, so I am leaning more towards the S22 Ultra.
It's obviously a lot more money than the Mate 20 X but technology has moved on and the Mate 20 X is now 3.5 years old.
In the Netherlands I can get a new S22 Ultra for €850, a used Note20 Ultra for €650 and a used Mate 20 x or Mate 20 x 5G will still cost me €350 to €400.
There is nothing like this on the market, trust me I've looked. I just got one. It's a rare phone and won't work on CDMA providers. There is no phone of this size, it's the only one with this wide of a screen. The other ones are all the same width, just taller, which is useless. I need it wider for reading, that's the whole point of a bigger display. But all the big phones have the same width as the smaller ones.
I got rid of the Note 20 because it was the same size as my V30, just taller and heavier. Useless for me. Also, this doesn't support MicroSD. I had to get the phone to be sure. It only supports NM cards, which is the same size as a sim card, and it's only available up to 256GB, so you can't get more than 512GB on this device including an NM card, if you have a 256GB internal.
As of now, nothing that I want exists on the market.
xxxxxxx This is not a slow phone. Other phones are faster, but the whole point of this phone is the form factor, and this is still one of the fastest phones on the market.

The Honor x30 Max has a 7.09" screen, which is smaller than the 7.2" screen of the Mate 20 X. The aspect ratio of the Honor x30 Max is 19:9. The Mate 20 X has a 18.7:9 aspect ratio.
Not only are you wrong about your actual statements, but also the Honor x30 Max CANNOT BE ROOTED, PERIOD (mandatory for me). It does NOT have OLED (a mandatory requirement for me). It has no expandable storage (also a requirement). Not only that, but it has mandatory 5G (which I am avoiding for my life).
Smaller, LCD (non-OLED) display. Lower-end phone. Even uses a Mediatek CPU (reserved for lower-end phones)! The Mate 20 X is a huge upgrade over the newer phone.
The new phone is a downgrade on every level - screen, quality, performance, features, efficiency.
HiSilicon Kirin 980 vs MediaTek MT6877 Dimensity 900 5G

GFLOPS performance102.1 GFLOPS93 GFLOPS(Multi-core / watt performance)

Simply put, there is NOTHING like the Mate 20 X with this size or form factor, especially not with OLED, on the market, nothing even comes close. You'll have to get a smaller, crappier phone, or sacrifice the form factor and quality and features to get a faster phone but not with a screen like this.
It's not a perfect phone, but it beats almost every phone in 2022, and competes in line with flagships. Desired features it lacks are microsd (it has nm card), 2K/4K, and high refresh rate. Also being able to unlock the bootloader on the newest OS. Other than that, there is nothing that comes close to this phone considering the OLED screen on this.

Here are the FACTS about the x30 max compared to the mate 20 x. The following is from gsmarena.com. xxxxx

So as I said before, the x30 max is a +7 inch phone which is comparable to the mate 20x. Resolution and ppi between the 2 phones are generally the same as noted. The size again is basically the same. There exists about 4 phones that I know that are +7 inches.
The 30x max may not be the exact copy of the mate 20 x but it holds its own with a huge +7 inch screen which most phones lack. One difference between the 2 is that the x30 max has 64 MP, f/1.8, 26mm (wide), PDAF while the mate 20 x has the 40 MP, f/1.8, 27mm (wide), 1/1.7", PDAF.

How can you get s22 ultra for that price? Its 1000€+ in EU
I owned the mate 20X for more than 2 years. It’s simply the best phone I have had. Recently, I saw some phones that have 120hz. This feature is a must in any phone right now for me, so I searched all the markets with a phone that has this feature with a width of at least 80mm, but I couldn’t find any except few phones like the Honor X30 Max, but the hardware in that phone is not good. The options I was left with were either foldable phones, Iphone 13 pro max, which I don’t like, so I went with S22 Ultra.
The S22 Ultra is amazing. The 120hz is a must now for me. The camera is simply amazing compared to the Mate 20x. Speed is also noticeable, but not to the point that would push me to replace the mate.
Let’s come to the most important thing we are all talking about here which is the screen. The S22 ultra has better colors. The better resolution is noticeable for me too. However, the size is a huge no for me, and I don’t like the curve display. I have both devices next to each other now, but I still prefer the media experience on my mate20x. I am not disappointed with my s22 Ultra, but I still think the Mate is a better phone for media, writing and reading which is more important for me that the camera for example.
There might be a coming phone that may be a good alternative for the mate, but it is still a rumor: Vivo X Note

Second hand sites. These new Samsung phones are frequently part of a contract renewal and then sold on for cash.
BTW I got a Z Fold3. The S22 Ultra was just too boring for me.
I have a note 20 ultra (6.9" screen) I am selling it and moving to a mate 20x I miss mine that much.
The curved screens are trash in my opinion.
For any of you guys who are interested in possibly buying a Mate 20 X substitute, the wait is over. Enter the Vivo X Note with 7.0 inch screen. Check out the specs:
https://www.gsmarena.com/vivo_x_note-11469.php
Obviously it just dropped 2 weeks ago. As a result, I haven't gotten my claws on it to review it yet but I can honestly say that it looks good given yt reviews. However, the only qualm I have with it is the aspect ratio set in stone at 21:10 which I consider a bitter disappointment. Compared to the note 20 ultra, its a bit wider and taller which is reminiscent of the mate 20 X but given its aspect ratio of 21:20, dont be fooled into believing its on par with the 20 X in screen size.
Other than this, the price is another negative which is, unfortunately, at $1,000; something not typically expected from a chinese company.
