the new Note has a 5.7-inch 1080p Super AMOLED panel, giving the user roughly 386 ppi to work with -- plenty more than the first two Notes, which both pulled in less than 300. It's noticeably brighter than its predecessor and offers great views from almost any angle.
Measuring 151.2 x 79.2 x 8.3mm, the Note 3 is 1.3mm narrower than the second Note (3.8mm narrower than the first), as well as 1.1mm thinner and 0.1mm taller. It weighs 168 grams, 12g lighter than its father. We continue to marvel at Samsung's ability to make phones with larger displays and yet trim down their overall size. The panel on the Note 3 is just a little taller, not wider; the company trimmed down the bezels on top and bottom to allow more room for this. Fortunately, it's not so much taller that it makes for an awkward hold -- frankly, it's even more comfortable to hold than the Note II, and as a result it may gain a few more converts who have long despised large smartphones. Make no mistake -- it's still large, but it's much more manageable than most supersized handsets on the market, including the first two Notes.

Sounds good but I think I'll keep my gs4, even though the specs are better than the gs4, but will probably get it for the wife since she has the n2. I guess for the people that wants something bigger than the 5.5, will probably get the Galaxy Mega (6.3). Op, if you haven't made a post on the Mega you should too...
I was really thinking of getting the Note 3, but then I saw all the vids on it and was left unimpressed. Will probably wait til the S5 to upgrade again. But you never know, I might see one in person and just decide I do want it.

Nah. Keep in mind people. The galaxy s4 is a great phone. The note 3 is too, but you just got this phone at MOST 4 months ago.

Hi All
Currently looking for a new phone and MI6 is top of my list, big Xiaomi fan, but my one concern is the weight of the phone. I'm coming from an MI4C which is extremely light (132g) v MI6 (168g). Can anyone comment on the weight of MI6, does it feel quite heavy? Looking at other flagships it seems one of the heaviest out there in that screen size market.
its so heavy, if you have problem with weight of phone, consider...
its super cool phone, everything is fine , but so heavy
You get used to the weight quite quickly. But why now a Mi6? Is it about the size? I would wait for the presentation of the Mi8.
Sorry for OT,
Need advice
What should i choose mi mix 2s or up coming mi 8
At first its seems quite heavy, but you get comfy with it very easy.
I like it when the Phone is a bit heavier so you can feel it in your pocket.
Buy it if you want a new Phone right now then go for it or wait for the Mi 8 for sure.

Hmm yes not sure what to do. Using one handed I'm sure it gets quite heavy after a while.
I'm a big fan of smaller screen sizes, so max would be 5.5in. Seems like MI8 is going to be over 6 in which is way too big for me
you can not compare "old" 5.5in phones with new ones:
6" Mi Mix 2s
Dimensions 150.9 x 74.9 x 8.1 mm (5.94 x 2.95 x 0.32 in)
5,5" Redmi Note 3 Pro
Dimensions 150 x 76 x 8.7 mm (5.91 x 2.99 x 0.34 in)
I have the ceramik version, which is still a a bit heavier than glass-version. but no problem!
If you decide on a mi6, don't buy the ceramic, you will not need it. I bought it since there was almost no price difference to the "standard" version.
What i really like about my Mi6 is the (ultrasonic) Fingerprint/Home button on front - perfect unlocking even with wet fingers.
Maybe Mi8 in-display fingerprint is just as good, we will see.

I've heard that the ultrasonic fingerprint reader on our mi 6 is actually the try-and-see thing before going to in display ultrasonic fp readers. And I remember some guy on miui forums who've tested mi 8 saying it's quite responsive as mi 6's.
It gets a little heavy when I hold it with one hand but mostly when I try to watch something in landscape. No problems when using two hand of course. Holding it in portrait with one hand is fine for as long as I like. I actually love the weight of it most of the time, feels very premium.
The mi6 is a great phone at its price IMO. If you like your devices notchless and can stand losing the headphone jack this is a great option.
It is nice and heavy.
Hi guys,
I own the samsung a70. Its got a big screen. But I'm thinking about selling it to buy the mate 20x. The a70 has a 6.7 inch screen. The 20x has a 7.3 inch although its aspect ratio is wider than the a70. has anyone had the a70 to compare with the mate 20-x? Do you think half an inch of screen real estate it worth getting it?
bump
bump
Mate 20x is have slightly better experience. Almost x2 gpu and cpu power. Mate 20x has better and wider oled screen. Switching between applications slightly smoother than a70. Mate 20x is even better than s10+. A70 is no match for mate 20x. Thats your answer i guess. There is no Phone can Come near to mate 20x. Maybe note 10+, we Will see.
Mate 20 x is better, A70 has no chance!
Cardboard model
You didn't say what are the important features for you?
Screensize okay, we got it
But do you love Samsung Oneui? Would you like Huawei software?
Mate 20 x is quite large, you should build yourself a cardboard model, it's quite easy : you can stack some sheets to get the proper thickness but don't forget about the 220+ grams weight that's 40 gram difference.
Anyway I love my mate 20 x and all its features
I'm torn between these 2 huge 7 inch phones. I like the black shark 3 pro cuz its got a sharp resolution the mate 20 x lacks. But the screen is not as wide as the mate 20 x. I like phones wide wide aspect ratios. But the mate 20 x is old also. So I'm torn as you see. So which do you think I should buy? The huawei mate 20 x or black shark 3 pro?
I bought the 20X last month. For its wide screen. Waited for half a year or so to see if any new phones would be released with similar dimensions and a flat screen, but it didn't happen: They all just went longer, not wider. And also more and more phones with curved screens. So I said **** it, I'm gonna get the 20X. Yes it's been around for a while now, yes it has a notch, yes it has the fingerprint scanner on the back, yes it lacks a notification led, and yes there's no double tap to wake either.. But no regrets here. I'm loving it. Got used to the size in no-time. My former phone (OnePlus 3) seems like a miniature phone now when I hold it and look at the display.
Another thing worth considering is the amount of security updates you will get from the 20X. It's already 18 months old. Also depends how much money you're handing over.
As per the title! Lost my phone a couple of days ago, had a mate 20x 5g
Back on my old mi max 3 now but should I reorder or is there anything else around?
Needs to be the same size or bigger with 5g dual Sim
I'm not asking for much right
Current UK used price with 2 year warranty is around 300 GBP
There is nothing the same size or bigger that I can find and definitely not 5G/Dual Sim. Best bet is to just buy another one. With manufacturers trying (maybe in vain) to push foldable phones it might be a while before we see another 7" standard phone.

If I were you I'd get the note 20 ultra. Its fast, has a big screen and has better resolution and specs than the 20x.
The 20x is a laggard now. There hasnt been any sec updates since 2020 and will never have one again.
The gravy train stopped running dude. Trust me, you dont want to get a mate 20x going forward into 2022

I agree, but I am looking at a new phone as well and the price difference between the 18 month old Note20 Ultra and the brand new S22 Ultra is relatively small second hand, so I am leaning more towards the S22 Ultra.
It's obviously a lot more money than the Mate 20 X but technology has moved on and the Mate 20 X is now 3.5 years old.
In the Netherlands I can get a new S22 Ultra for €850, a used Note20 Ultra for €650 and a used Mate 20 x or Mate 20 x 5G will still cost me €350 to €400.
There is nothing like this on the market, trust me I've looked. I just got one. It's a rare phone and won't work on CDMA providers. There is no phone of this size, it's the only one with this wide of a screen. The other ones are all the same width, just taller, which is useless. I need it wider for reading, that's the whole point of a bigger display. But all the big phones have the same width as the smaller ones.
I got rid of the Note 20 because it was the same size as my V30, just taller and heavier. Useless for me. Also, this doesn't support MicroSD. I had to get the phone to be sure. It only supports NM cards, which is the same size as a sim card, and it's only available up to 256GB, so you can't get more than 512GB on this device including an NM card, if you have a 256GB internal.
As of now, nothing that I want exists on the market.
xxxxxxx This is not a slow phone. Other phones are faster, but the whole point of this phone is the form factor, and this is still one of the fastest phones on the market.

The Honor x30 Max has a 7.09" screen, which is smaller than the 7.2" screen of the Mate 20 X. The aspect ratio of the Honor x30 Max is 19:9. The Mate 20 X has a 18.7:9 aspect ratio.
Not only are you wrong about your actual statements, but also the Honor x30 Max CANNOT BE ROOTED, PERIOD (mandatory for me). It does NOT have OLED (a mandatory requirement for me). It has no expandable storage (also a requirement). Not only that, but it has mandatory 5G (which I am avoiding for my life).
Smaller, LCD (non-OLED) display. Lower-end phone. Even uses a Mediatek CPU (reserved for lower-end phones)! The Mate 20 X is a huge upgrade over the newer phone.
The new phone is a downgrade on every level - screen, quality, performance, features, efficiency.
HiSilicon Kirin 980 vs MediaTek MT6877 Dimensity 900 5G

GFLOPS performance102.1 GFLOPS93 GFLOPS(Multi-core / watt performance)
Performance / watt ratio1,637 pts / W827 pts / W
Simply put, there is NOTHING like the Mate 20 X with this size or form factor, especially not with OLED, on the market, nothing even comes close. You'll have to get a smaller, crappier phone, or sacrifice the form factor and quality and features to get a faster phone but not with a screen like this.
It's not a perfect phone, but it beats almost every phone in 2022, and competes in line with flagships. Desired features it lacks are microsd (it has nm card), 2K/4K, and high refresh rate. Also being able to unlock the bootloader on the newest OS. Other than that, there is nothing that comes close to this phone considering the OLED screen on this.

Here are the FACTS about the x30 max compared to the mate 20 x. The following is from gsmarena.com. xxxxx
BodyDimensions174.4 x 84.9 x 8.3 mm (6.87 x 3.34 x 0.33 in)174.6 x 85.4 x 8.2 mm (6.87 x 3.36 x 0.32 in)Weight228 g (8.04 oz)232 g (8.18 oz)BuildGlass front, plastic frame, plastic backGlass front (Gorilla Glass), glass back, aluminum frameSIMDual SIM (Nano-SIM, dual stand-by)Hybrid Dual SIM (Nano-SIM, dual stand-by)IP53, dust and splash protection
Stylus (optional)
DisplayTypeIPS LCD, HDR10OLED, HDR10Size7.09 inches, 125.5 cm2 (~84.7% screen-to-body ratio)7.2 inches, 130.7 cm2 (~87.6% screen-to-body ratio)Resolution1080 x 2280 pixels, 19:9 ratio (~356 ppi density)1080 x 2244 pixels, 18.7:9 ratio (~346 ppi density)ProtectionCorning Gorilla Glass (unspecified version)
So as I said before, the x30 max is a +7 inch phone which is comparable to the mate 20x. Resolution and ppi between the 2 phones are generally the same as noted. The size again is basically the same. There exists about 4 phones that I know that are +7 inches.
The 30x max may not be the exact copy of the mate 20 x but it holds its own with a huge +7 inch screen which most phones lack. One difference between the 2 is that the x30 max has 64 MP, f/1.8, 26mm (wide), PDAF while the mate 20 x has the 40 MP, f/1.8, 27mm (wide), 1/1.7", PDAF.

How can you get s22 ultra for that price? Its 1000€+ in EU
I owned the mate 20X for more than 2 years. It’s simply the best phone I have had. Recently, I saw some phones that have 120hz. This feature is a must in any phone right now for me, so I searched all the markets with a phone that has this feature with a width of at least 80mm, but I couldn’t find any except few phones like the Honor X30 Max, but the hardware in that phone is not good. The options I was left with were either foldable phones, Iphone 13 pro max, which I don’t like, so I went with S22 Ultra.
The S22 Ultra is amazing. The 120hz is a must now for me. The camera is simply amazing compared to the Mate 20x. Speed is also noticeable, but not to the point that would push me to replace the mate.
Let’s come to the most important thing we are all talking about here which is the screen. The S22 ultra has better colors. The better resolution is noticeable for me too. However, the size is a huge no for me, and I don’t like the curve display. I have both devices next to each other now, but I still prefer the media experience on my mate20x. I am not disappointed with my s22 Ultra, but I still think the Mate is a better phone for media, writing and reading which is more important for me that the camera for example.
There might be a coming phone that may be a good alternative for the mate, but it is still a rumor: Vivo X Note

Second hand sites. These new Samsung phones are frequently part of a contract renewal and then sold on for cash.
BTW I got a Z Fold3. The S22 Ultra was just too boring for me.
I have a note 20 ultra (6.9" screen) I am selling it and moving to a mate 20x I miss mine that much.
The curved screens are trash in my opinion.
