Hi,
Does anyone know why I can't enable the unknow sources install from the security settings? Its greyed out and says it was disabled because of the server policy.

Do you have your company email set up on your phone? If so, I'm pretty sure that's a policy they can specify.

Registry key for security PIN timeout

Does anyone knows which is the registry key (WM6) that contains the number of minutes after which the device security lock is activated automatically? My Exchange policy is setting this period for 15 minutes and when I am using my PDA for navigating is locking my screen (of course after 15 minutes!) and this is driving my crazy ! Thanks in advance for any idea.
Umm, you can't change it on your device, you'll have to change the exchange security policy. That is the point of the security policy.
Of course I cannot change the Exchange policy, I am not one of the admins unfortunately ! So I am stuck with this stupid issue? I was hoping I can change the existing value with a larger one...
Try these...
Here are a couple of links that will help you:

Hi All,
I wondered if there was any app available to remove the PIN or password requirement from your phone while having exchange email sync'd?
Even if i could change to the pattern unlock i would be happy

Before calling it a bug:
Have you checked your settings on outgoing mail? Right servername, port, authentication, security settings and so on?
I haven't heard this one before. That alone is not proof or anything, just that I would suspect with a bug that more people where complaining in these forums.

[Q] How to disable Lockscreen pattern

I made the the mistake of activating the lockscreen password feature of my Galaxy Note 2 and now I can't seem to deactivate the feature. When trying to turn off screen lock password/pattern, all options (Swype, motion, face unlock, face and voice, None) are disbled (greyed out) but the only active options are Pattern, Pin and Password. The grayed out options are written "disabled by administrator, encryption policy or credential storage"
Anyone know why its like this? How to go around this problem? By the way, I am using all stock.

You sure either using a VPN or exchange email with high security settings. Get rid of that and you'll be able to remove lock pattern

[Q] Sceen lock turned of by admisintrator

Hello Guys,
I have searched Xda for possible solution but still I haven't found one. I'm unable to set lockscreen to swipe or none options. They are grayed out.
I have cleared credentials, uninstalled vpn apps, and unchecked device admin. Ps, no exchange accounts has been set.
Currently I am on 4.2.2 official version.
Thanks in advance

Under settings>security, is there an administrator account? Seems like it's locking you out of those settings. After the vpn apps have you deleted all saved vpn connections?
Well, even if nothing works, you can still use a lot of replacements like GO Launcher and many others....
