[Q] Sceen lock turned of by admisintrator - Galaxy Grand Duos i9082 Q&A, Help & Troubleshootin

Hello Guys,
I have searched Xda for possible solution but still I haven't found one. I'm unable to set lockscreen to swipe or none options. They are grayed out.
I have cleared credentials, uninstalled vpn apps, and unchecked device admin. Ps, no exchange accounts has been set.
Currently I am on 4.2.2 official version.
Thanks in advance

Under settings>security, is there an administrator account? Seems like it's locking you out of those settings. After the vpn apps have you deleted all saved vpn connections?
Well, even if nothing works, you can still use a lot of replacements like GO Launcher and many others....

There is Device administrators option and none of the apps are checked. I tried miui lock screen but it doesn't appear at all. Yes no trace of vpn. I don't know what is locking me out.

"password unlock" window after unlocking?? screenshot, plz help me remove this
Hi guys,
I have a funny problem, I've installed lockbot and some other lock-apps as test but removed all of them except lockbot
Now when I disable lockbot I have my normal lockscreen (power button + wipe down to unlock) but now I get an extra screen where I have to enter an unlock code (which seems to be my pin code) or emergency call
I can't find back in the settings how to disable this, anybody any idea?
PS I have stock ROM with launcherpro installed
Thx

Remove it and install No Lock. Or SwitchPro Widget.
well I love lockbot except that it unlocks when receiving a call so I just want to return to my default way of unlocking (power-button + slide-down) without having to enter my pin code again
this is how it looks like, I have no idea where this is coming from
anybody any ideas what this might be?
Anyone please? I would really like to get rid of this....

Are you syncing with an Exchange server?
I've had that dialogue box when I set up my Exchange mail.
Look here (translated from Swedish)
Settings -> Security -> Set screen lock
or something similar.

yep, I use Touchdown... however I used this on my HTC Magic as well and I never had the issue on that phone. I also have a seperate window for a pincode in Touchdown itself. Also when I disable the lock completely using switchpro I don't get this message anymore. If this is coming from exchange, I should probably still get the mentionned window... anyway I can try to uninstall just to test.

don't have that... I can only
- set a pattern-lock (which doesn't work, I just get the window mentionned, when I enter my code it goes straight to my homescreen)
- enable/disable PIN code (when disabled I still get the mentionned window)
- enable visible passwords
- install certificates from sd-card
just uninstalled touchdown... no change, lockscreen remains...
anyone?

The lock is requested by the security settings within Exchange. I would suggest removing you mail account from the phone to check, unless you have access to the Exchange server or a friendly Exhcange Admin.
I've uninstalled touchdown completely but lock screen remained..

Have you tried to disable the other lock options? Go through them one by one and enable and disable them. Maybe reboot first/after.

furthermore I've uninstalled all lock-screen apps and touchdown (exchange) but that cr*ppy screen remains active
coming close to giving it up though think I'll just stick to lockbot or widgetlocker and buying a decent pouch
ehm... something I just found by accident: it doesn't matter what I enter in that lock window, it always unlocks (except when leaving blanc) !!
try this
http://www.xda-developers.com/android/lockpicker-now-updated-to-v0-94/
Hi,
tried that already (forgot to mention it)
never mind guys, Widgetlocker seems to be what I'm looking in a lockscreen and it seems stable so I'll stick to that
thanks for all the tips and hints... sometimes it's just not ment to be

[Q] JB 4.1 - Developer Options -> Stay Awake disabled?

I'm having a really bizarre problem where, even when Developer Options are toggled to On, the Stay Awake option is disabled.
Yesterday, I re-flashed the JB 4.1 rom (Team Vicious v1), and this fixed it, but this morning it became permanently disabled again.
My question is: where in the file system can I find where this flag is toggled? I'm thinking I can go and edit something like a build.props file to enable it manually. Anyone know what file controls Developer Option settings?
EDIT: Found a solution by installing the "Stay Awake" widget from the Play store. Even though the option is still disabled under Settings, I can see that it is checked now when I enable it through the widget.
EIDT2: Even though the widget checked the option, it does not work.
EDIT3: I've finally figured out the root cause of the problem - this is a new "security feature" with exchange accounts in JB. As soon as you accept the security protocol when creating an exchange account, Stay Awake becomes permanently disabled. I've heard mixed feedback on the email apk hack successfully working. So far there does not appear to be a workaround.

mordrukk,
First of all thank you a million for editing your OP and updating as you learned more, huge help! I'm definitely interested if you find more about this. I recently switched from using Touchdown on my device to corporate email and had my "stay awake" option disabled. It's extremely frustrating to be driving listening to music or whatnot and have the screen shut off on me.
I'm having a hard time finding info on the supposed email.apk hack to fix this. Any chance you can share what you know?
EDIT: Dug up the thread myself. I'm having mixed results. It does sync my account without requiring additional lockdown (past installing a client cert and requiring a pattern lock). I can confirm allow wake works now! However, since applying the patch I've had Exchange Services (Exchange2.apk) crash on me several times. This happened most frequently after first syncing the account. I'll re-update after a day or so of use.
The patch was a piece of cake to install (on a Mac). Just requires a bit of adb use.

I got the same problem after installing notes traveller ! One workaround it to install 'screen on ' from pinapps and set it to stay on when charging. It works.

[Q] How to disable Lockscreen pattern

I made the the mistake of activating the lockscreen password feature of my Galaxy Note 2 and now I can't seem to deactivate the feature. When trying to turn off screen lock password/pattern, all options (Swype, motion, face unlock, face and voice, None) are disbled (greyed out) but the only active options are Pattern, Pin and Password. The grayed out options are written "disabled by administrator, encryption policy or credential storage"
Anyone know why its like this? How to go around this problem? By the way, I am using all stock.

You sure either using a VPN or exchange email with high security settings. Get rid of that and you'll be able to remove lock pattern

Disable AT&T Address Book

Hey Guys.
I just received my Optimus G Pro from the US. I have unlocked it and its working fine in the UK on EE. However when I open up contacts it keeps trying to load AT&T Address Book which is really annoying. I just press back and it goes back to the regular contacts menu, but is there any way of disabling it? I have managed to disable all of the other AT&T bloatware from the main application drawer. Any ideas?
Thanks.

I don't see an option to disable that. If I click on it it opens up and wants to sync. Long pressing does nothing and there are no check boxes to uncheck.
Thanks but I tried that and there is no option to disable it. Is there any other way or will I have to root?

You can go into apps in setting then to Att address book and stop it from there too. On mine I can just tap Att address book in the sync area and the it opens up and then you can check it or not to stop the sync

If you're rooted then you can always change the AAB.apk to AAB.bak with Root Browser (or any other root file explorer) and that'll disable it. I prefer this method to uninstalling just in case I need to do a software upgrade-it's easy enough to reverse without having to flash back to stock.

After you get into your contacts, go into settings -> display options then scroll to the bottom and select customize. UNCHECK at&t address book. After that it shouldnt try to open it.

If rooted do not uninstall de AT&T adress book. It is tied with the stock contac app. And if you do like i did in the past with at&t phones you will not be able to open the stock contac app. Your phone will say Apk not found. And then you will have to download a contac app like go contacs. It is best to just disable it. Very clever at&t with theyre crap.

There are several options. The easiest thing is to make the root and then uninstall AT & T Address Book, all you do with Rom ToolBox. For the other applications. You just have to enter settings - Applications - All - Looking for the At & t and then: Force stop, turn off the notifications, delete the cache and then turn off. That's it!! It's that easy. If my information help you, just give clicking Thanks!
Other solution
I know this is an old post, but maybe someone know how can I remove the AT&T address book without rooting the device. Every time I'm on wifi or 3g and I open contacts this application opens first. It is extremely annoying. I just have an app from work which requires from device not too be rooted so I must find some other solution.
Thank you.
I never set mine up and it doesn't pop up. Maybe click through it without setting it up? There must be a way to do it because I haven't used root to force any of my AT&T apps. There's also an att address book options under accounts and sync. Maybe you can use that to stop it.

Nothing works, those AT&T guys closed all the options I could think off. In accounts they doesn't have the option to stop it. BTW, I never set mine up as well. But every time I get into "contacts" it starts connection with the AT&T address book to give me instructions how to set it up. It is really, really annoying.
Thank you.
A little late, but...
On my LG G2, I cannot disable the AT&T address book, but I never see it or use it during normal use. The only time I see it is if I either look into the apps section (where it can be stopped, but cannot be disabled), or if I go into "Accounts and Sync", where is shows the accounts such as Google, Skype, etc. If I click on "AT&T Address Book" there, it opens and asks:
Do you want to sync this device with the contacts in your online AT&T Address Book?
I click on "No", and it says
Activate AT&T Address Book at a later date by simply selecting AT&T Address Book from the settings menu of your device address book.
I of course would never do that.
I found a menu yesterday with "hidden menus" app from the play store. Try dialing *#*#2666#*#* and setting "registration" to "completed". You might also tinker with those settings and see if it stops it.

Thank God for small favors (and good info) this is the only thing that worked for me. I used to root and uninstall it or flash a dif. Rom. But I wanted the updates I missed and the future ones, so I flashed back to stock and of course got the cursed "you cant stop me, haha" ATT address book!!!

Website asking for location, not working.

Question about websites asking for my location. We have two Note 10+ phones and anytime a website asks for the location the pop-up appears asking for the ok but the phone never allows either option to be picked. I always have to use the back button to clear the pop-up off the screen. We've had both Note 10+'s for months and it's never allowed us to select an option. How do I make the thing work? Using Chrome as the browser and everything is fully updated. I checked the feature in the default Samsung browser and it works fine, but I want to issue Chrome. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Open Chrome and go to settings and look for "site settings" . Once opened look for "location". Open "location" and change your settings accordingly.

Mine does same but I went to settings and tried to change the permissions but it only allows Ask every time, or deny. Only choices. Very odd

For me the issue was I needed to give permission for Chrome itself.
So I went to the phone's settings then apps then chrome then allowed location when in use

I think thats Android not allowing you to select a choice because an 'overlay' is blocking your view.

Got it to work. Went into Settings and search for "on top" and open the Special Access menu and select Appear on top and turn off all the apps.
