If you can get firewater working on this one then awesome But firewater is very picky on which m8s it will work for. the $25 is the devs @jcase and beaups ask for the work they put into thier app which is rock solid and has a near perfect success rate Think the cost is justified considering they bricked many test devices and put alot of thier time and money into thier project. if firewater doesnt work (i.e u get the dreaded whelp message) Sunshine is your way to go
Be careful cause depending of your MID you may not be able to flash the firmware..........i'm in the exact position of you. I have the ROM working fine it's just that it take time to boot when i reboot. I paid for S-OFF for nothing as i can't update firmware. Updating firmware also update Radio so updating with a wrong firmware could lead to install bad radio parameters which may result in no 3G ou 4G anymore so i don't advise updating firmware................

its easy to change MID mate, check the link in my sig (dev edition conversion)
also HERE is the redio collection thread.
1, change MID to the one that is relevant
2, flash desired firmware
3, if the radio is crappy, flash the correct one :good:

So the step would be change MID to google play --> change to dev (as in the guide there is no developer MID only "AT&T, unlocked, developer MID") then flash latest firmware then flash WWE radio as i'm in France ?

Regarding the problems i'm facing i seriously don't advise to flash firmware............he can use ARHD withouth a single problem except the longer boot.....
Have a look here to see what's happening to me :

I had LTE not working with radio included in the latest firmware. I had to flash the radio to comeback to stock working one. But it seems it's too old for the firmware..........Don't touch the firmware guys

Because of multiple versions of Firmware, Baseband, Hboot etc.........we should advise people not to upgrade the firmware.........Otherwise they could have mismatch between versions etc........as i'm facing now

OK, May be an issue with certain files in the firmware u flashed that are not going to work great with your specific variant of device. I would seriously recommend doung what ckpv5 said in the post above, revert back to how u gou it out of the box (original firmware, cid and rom) and wait for him to explain further once he has had a look at the zip file. I cannot help you further i'm afraid

Hello all,
Apologies if this has been posted already but honestly I have searched like a madman to avoid duplicating posts. Also please bear with me as i am a recent iPhone user convert to android (after 6 years of iPhone!) so I may not be too savvy. Any way tot eh point!!!
I live in Pakistan and have bought a Vodafone France branded HOX (CID vodap203) and I am not sure if the OTA is available yet. According to the SFR website it is but I have to sign in and I am not a customer of theirs so I cant. I had also rooted it but then re-locked the bootloader as what I gleaned from the forums it stated that I cant receive an OTA if its rooted. So my questions are basically:
1) Do I need to restore my phone to original factory setting to receive the OTA?
2) Will I need an SFR sim card to receive the OTA? (I had already received the 4.0.4 update OTA after I had bought it)
3) Is my only option to flash a stock carrier branded version JB when its available on to my HOX?
Again I apologize if this is repetition but I have tried to find my answer already. Your guys' help would be greatly appreciated (put me out of my misery)
Thank you!!!

Hi Sneakyghost, please forgive my ignorance but I have a couple of questions regarding this mod.
I have a M8 with stock 5.0.1 ROM (rooted) S-off CID 02---001, is this usable with my phone? Also am I right in thinking I can use this mod to enable H/K but be able to revert back to Boom Sound so OTA update's will work in future?
Thank you very much.

This one is easy. Its O2 branded but a WWE phone actually. Since you are S-OFF you can just run the WWE firmware files or RUU's. It will neither damage your phone nor harm its performance. O2 is using the same files but gives the phone its own CID. So, with S-ON, the phone would reject WWE, but with S-OFF, you can just set it to SuperCID (11111111) and it will just take any firmware.
At the same time, this means, you can do everything the WWE phones can. So, to answer your actual question: this MOD will just work as expected on your phone. As long as you are S-OFF.

Probably not. It's meant for Lollipop. Get 4.xx firmware. I'd be more specific, but for some weird reason, you XXXed your actual firmware version.

You didn't flash the ADSP when you flashed to H/K. The ADSP option is in the Aroma install. I just ckecked, and I have v56 on mine.
Also, if you flash back to Boomsound, you can keep the H/K ADSP without re-flashing the BS version. v56 is totally compatible with Boomsound.

HK/BS Aroma Switcher Causing Errors in Settings?
Hello,
I would first like to thank you for the work done on this mod. The mod works as intended but I have had an issue after installing this mod. It seems to break a few things in Settings.apk. Installing the mod makes Settings.apk force close when pressing the three dots button (which can be seen in the attached screenshot) found under Settings > Accounts & Sync > Google. Is this issue known? Or is this an isolated case. It also makes Settings.apk force close when I connect to a Wi-Fi that has a log-in/Acceptance of Terms page (force closes when page attempts to pop up).
I am running this on a HTC One M8 with rooted Verizon 5.0.1 and TWRP 2.8.6. Phone also has unlocked bootloader and S-Off. No other mods are installed. Thank you for the help in advanced!

No it's not replacing the original mod, it's packing it differently with restore options in aroma. Also the used set of files has been reworked several times by now so the content might actually differ from the original mod by now. I never checked.
Regarding sense 7: I'm currently only active with my M9 and haven't tried a sense 7 ROM on the M8 - I suggest you backup, then try and report.

Very likely you used the wrong recovery. Which one did you use?
You should be using the latest TWRP at least.

Hello,
I would first like to thank you for the work done on this mod.

Did you flash the Verizon version? Did you choose stock Verizon in aroma?
The issue you described is from the modded settings.apk and known.
I flashed the version of HK/BS Aroma Switcher found in the OP (cant post link; has MD5: 515f3b6e90aee64a17f06eb7dd57a5da). I chose the stock Verizon option in the Aroma installer and flashed the HK ADSP.
Flashed this on viperonem8 Sprint Harman Karman m8 with first time flash option clicked. Every thing seems to work on s-on
I have HTC m8 AT&T (unlocked) and i do unlocked bootloader , s-on
i try to flash this rom

and i my device stop working now , only show HTC logo , i try other roms but no luck ,
note: this is the first time i try changing the rom

The reason that happened is that you have an AT&T device and you flashed a rom for standard unlocked HTC without a carrier. Try one of the roms from here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/att-htc-one-m8/development
That system dump is the unbranded EU handsets, not your device. To get your device back to stock...
1. Download this RUU - http://dl3.htc.com/application/RUU_...40.34.C35006.02_F_release_407726_signed_2.exe
2. Run it as Administrator
3. Connect the phone, in fastboot mode, to the PC when prompted
4. Follow the instructions
When finished, you'll be on 3.42.502.1 and working again
thank you
i will try and I'll let you know
thank you
is this the last update?
can i have 5.0 lollipop
The RUU is 4.4.4, AT&T haven't released Lollipop yet
Forgot to mention, for the RUU you have to be relocked (fastboot oem lock) as otherwise it won't work
the rom still downloading
i already download a ATT earlier , it is 4.4.2
i relock bootloader as you guide me , and it is work now
thank you...
still waiting for 4.4.4 to finish downloading.

Why would this in itself matter? I'm guessing the issue (not booting) is the very outdated firmware.
Cause they're not S-OFF and not on the EU firmware, and yes the FW is out-of-date.
Best they get up-to-date and working first then look into a custom ROM

I think the best course of action for OP is to run an RUU honestly. AT&T shouldn't be much longer until they update their HTC One M8's to Lollipop. Then they should have the latest firmware.
Unless, their willing to spend the money to get S-Off.

You can flash any custom ROM that supports 4.4.4. firmware.
Most Lollipop ROMs require LP 5.0 firmware. Unless you update the firmware to 5.0, you'll likely have the same issues on LP ROMs with long boot time, or other serious issues like broken WiFi.
Unless you take the previous advice to pay for sunshine s-off, and update the firmware. Or alternately, wait until AT&T releases LP.

Is there a signed LP firmware zip that works on AT&T's CID?
Otherwise, the OP can flash a GPE or AOSP Lollipop ROMs (some/many of which work with 4.4.4 firmware). Otherwise, he will need to s-off AFAIK.

You're right, keep forgetting AT&T are dragging their heels
I felt the $25 for S-off was well worth it to be done with AT&T's bull. I ran the AT&T image just long enough to S-off, and I've never gone back. The Developer Edition run flawless on their network, and the only thing I miss out on is Visual Voicemail and the ability to automatically log into AT&T wifi hotspots. Neither of which are worth ever looking back. (Note, the AT&T and Developer edition are virtually the same otherwise - they even share the same model ID)

Have you checked out Wonder's Never Cease's ROM? Its Dev Edition LP based, but adds back some of the AT&T specific features like VVM, and VoLTE (for when that goes live): http://forum.xda-developers.com/att-htc-one-m8/development
Although I agree that the Dev Ed in itself is nothing short of awesome. I'm not a user of the AT&T functions myself. I don't use VVM, and I've found the AT&T hotspots to cause more trouble than its worth (in particular, it would connect to ATT hotspots where it was just enough signal to connect, but not good enough to actually get data transfer, and I'd have to shut off WiFi to get cell data to work). I can't even stand the AT&T signal icons. So a non-branded ROM that is intended to work for AT&T's network is the perfect thing for me, personally.

This version works in 99% of cases .
Contains modem and bootloader !
It is also very easy because she brings her own Flashtool

No it doesn't ! If you are S-OFF it doesn't matter that much but even then the MID needs to match. The advantage of S-OFF is that you can downgrade the firmware with a RUU. For S-ON devices its a completely different story. The CID & MID needs to match. The bootloader must be compatible with the firmware/ruu (when the RUU is lower than the bootloader/current OS it won't work either) otherwise it won't even run. It's a RUU btw, means a Rom Update Utility and i am 100% certain a dev edition does NOT work on a carrier branded device !
So conclusion......that firmware works yes, but definitely NOT for 99% of the cases. If i were you i would read up on branded devices/s-on and the advantages and disadvantages because in this case you are way off
ok

Hi All! I am considering converting my Sprint M8 to the unbranded version stock, because I'm from africa and I can't get 4G signale on it, however I'm not a huge technophile and I'm worried about bricking my phone. I was hoping that some of you smart folks may be able to offer some insight. Can someone point me to the safest and simplest way to do the conversion?
My phone is s-off and unlocked and rooted
Thank so much in advance!
You cannot convert the Sprint version to another version by RUU or flashing firmware, if that is what you are referring to. It won't work, and a permanent radio brick may result!
You can try the following (but I can't personally vouch for it - proceed with caution):
http://forum.xda-developers.com/htc-one-m8/general/how-to-convert-cdma-m8-sprint-vzw-gsm-t3303812
Thanks for you answer, I follow all the instructions in the link you give me
First I changed the cid and the mid to google CID and MID
and then I flashed with the GPE rom
after that I found my self stuck on the bootloader screen and the phone won't startup
I don't know if I do something wrong or maybe with sprint I cannot flash it with any custom rom .
thanks again .

You can't flash "any" ROM (and the guide is a bit misleading with the phrasing on that), but you need a ROM that supports the Sprint M8 version.
The GPE ROM should support all M8 versions (except dual SIM) at least that is what it says for the MM GPE ROM. There may be something else with your phone's setup (like firmware) that is causing a problem. Do fastboot getvar all, and post the results (delete IMEI and serial number) so we can see more info about the device.

That's actually meant for Verizon - http://forum.xda-developers.com/ver...ment/rom-vzw-stock-gpe-5-1-lmy47o-h9-t3212413 as both GSM & VZW share the same ROM.zip where the VZW support already added
This is a stock ROM with very little modifications.
Modifications made to this ROM are for Verizon network connectivity. framework-res.apk for apns.xml and eri.xml, build.prop
Added CDMA device support to stock boot.img

I Read it (This will NOT work on a CDMA HTC One GSM ONLY! )
Then there is no solution to enable 4G signale on my area ?

As @redpoint73 said, you don't really need GPE ROM. You can install any GSM ROM with Sprint support added.
If you still want GPE ROM with Sprint support, you can try my GPE ROM linked in my signature or try other GPE ROM ported for Sprint here : http://forum.xda-developers.com/sprint-htc-one-m8/development
But I doubt it will work as there is a note about Global LTE on Sprint
- Sprint hardware supports 800 and 2600 mhz only on bands 26 and 41, and does not accept european 20 (800mhz) and 7 (2600 mhz). So I think does not support any kind of european LTE at all and edit NV values is frustrating useless.
try with the rom in this link http://forum.xda-developers.com/sprint-htc-one-m8/general/updating-sprint-htc-one-m8-harman-t3369235
The first question could be "why a sprint phone"?
Sprint devices are the worst choice for who live outside the usa, cause is locked in everything and needs
1) SIM unlock (by code or javacard)
2) Software unlock, by a new rom after a bootloader unlock
3) Patience, cause 4G LTE bands are locked from hardware. Change codes MV is useless and often dangerously.
If you want 4G, I can only advice to sell it to who have a supported carrier (I know vodafone, tim and 3 in Italy uses same LTE bands of sprint devices). The only good thing, if you not support 4G, your battery will last longer.
