[Q] Encryption unsuccessful - Kindle Fire Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi,
I installed the newest OtterX ROM on my Kindle Fire 1st gen and then was notified of a CM update. So i downloaded and installed the update. When I rebooted its gives me an error message of "Encryption unsuccessful" and reset tablet. Every time I reset the tablet it gives me the same "Encryption unsuccessful..." message. So I got pissed off and wiped everything from the kindle fire and tried to reinstall but lo and behold I lost all my flashable zips from on my /sdcard folder!! Duh!!
I use Mac OsX and whenever I goto the terminal to run adb, it doesn't list my device (I'm booted into recovery TWRP 2.7.0.0 btw). I'm stuck and can't flash or push any zip files to my kindle fire now, because dab doesn't list my device. BTW, dab has successfully worked on this device previous to loading the new CM update. I can't mount the USB drive from TWRP either with OtterX.
How can I get my Fire to work again???
Thank you!!

yeah when you restore to stock it wipes out fff and twrp and your root so use kfu to install twrp and fff again no need to root if your gonna flash a rom just make sure you allow installation from unknown sources under device once you can access twrp make a backup that you will later rename noroot631 then flash to you liking
It says on KFU ADB Statusnline Boot Status: Unknown, and when i try to install twrp it doesnt do anything And when i try to reset it to factory it says failed to mount /cache(no such file directory) At the end.

Keep working with your drivers It says online
What????
He means, make sure your drivers are installed correctly. You can check out tutorials and stuff on YouTube.
My kindle fire doesnt even boot up to the home screen. It says "Your Kindle has detected a problem and must clear App storage. The recovery process will erase applications and data from your debice. Apps from the appstore are stored in the cloud and can be reinstalled later. This will reset your kindit to its orgional factory settings. You will need to re-register your Kindle prior to downloading items from you Amazon account. Please press the power button to proceed." So when i press the power button it says reseting then is said "failed to mount /cache."
It doesn't reset back to factory. WHy is that??
any ideas?
Bump...
Cause you messed up your partitions using parted and then flashed stock who knows what you broke if I had to guess I bet something isn't mounting like your cache or SD card

Yeah in twrp settings when you go to restore set it to skip md5 check and signature verification. Also go to mount and make sure there are no checks I'm the boxes of system and data if there are unchecked them and try a reboot as for fff when you get it running use kfu to send that to your kindle kinda hard to access recovery without it
Edit: a couple of side notes did you wipe? What did you wipe? What rom did you use? If it was a rom with the gapps pre baked in IMO when the gapps are added in there are often mounting issues . If gapps were not added did you flash the proper gapps?
i use cwm recovery because that was what ive always used.. i can connect my kindle to computer an kfu recognizes it online but it freezes whenever i try to use twrp recovery or cliclk fff any backdoor way of switching recoveries without using kfu?
Make sure your driver is android adb composite interface if it says android adb interface this driver is incorrect . Twrp really is the standard for the kindle. If your having trouble booting to the system then mount your sdcard transfer this bootloader to your card unmount and flash it http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1632375 only download it from this link. Then transfer this rom http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1390773 and the gingerbread gapps provided on this page to your sdcard wipe factory reset wipe cache wipe dalvik wipe system flash rom flash gapps reboot system if prompted . Should boot fine for you then the rest can get sorted out when you have a running system use this http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1500935 to replace cwmr with twrp when you reach that point good luck
Thank you worked like a charm

Urgent help needed! Stuck in TWRP 2.2 while using kindle fire utility

Hey guys, trying to root this kindle for my friend. Ive two so far. I dunno what happened but I'm stuck in TWRP. I was using kindle fire utility 0.9.6 did option 2 to install super user, then went to option 3 and it froze up so I powered on and off, now the fire is booting into this TWRP and I have no idea how to install the hellfile rom that I want. the ROM is not on the sd card and I can't get it to mount so I can view it on my computer when plugged in.
i need help!!!
UPDATE*
I just ran # 4 while rebooting and it seemed to install CWR..now I'm back to what appears to be stock kindle software. wtfff is going on
you definately do not want cwmr...
Did the ROM maybe go to a download folder? Once you get into twrp do a backup first thing then factory wipe, wipe(not format) cache and dalvik. Then hit install and browse the files/folders until you find your ROM and install. Reboot system. And yeah...dump cwm.
And you should really try installing su thru the recovery and try your hand at adb..

When you push files to the device, reboot and see if they're still there.

Thank you for responding.. yes, the files are there.
I found out what was wrong on my last attempt before i went home for the night.
On the advanced options i had the "test" check mark on.. unchecked it and problem solved.. Got it up and running.. 4 hours of research = 1 checkmark off ha.. lesson learned.

Kindle Fire rebooting - trying to go back to stock with TWRP

My Kindle fire kept shutting down and rebooting so I am trying to erase and go back to stock with the latest Kindle Fire update.
I have TWRP v2.5.0.0 installed and downloaded the kindle fire update from the Amazon website:
http://www.amazon.com/gp/help/customer/display.html?nodeId=200790620
I renamed the file to update.zip and placed on the kindle fire via USB port. I get "error executing updater binary in zip '/sdcard/update.zip' . I made sure there were no hidden extensions on the update.zip when I renamed the Amazon update bin file.
what should I try next? I did a 'factor reset' from TWRP and it will no longer boot into the Kindle OS (which is fine as it rebooting all the time automatically anyways). However, I can not flash the Amazon rom to get working again.
Can anyone please help? I have spent many hours with no success so far.
Thank you

Let me understand this it loads to the system momentarily then crashes and reboots or never makes it to system boot?
If it makes it to system boot race the device as fast as you can to factory reset and reset it if it never boots to system for even 20 seconds or so you need a factory cable http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1392693 post #9. in order to install TWRP and fff again .
Once in recovery you will do a factory reset and wipe everything except your sdcard prior to flashing stock. At that point you are better off flashing prerooted stock there is a new 6.3.3 available.

I can no longer boot to the Amazon Kindle OS because I used 'factory reset' in TWRP 2.5 which appears to have erased it. If there is a way to restore from this point please let me know.
I can still boot fine to TWRP so I should be able to work with it still, correct? I installed the Android SDK and use 'adb devices' which says:
Lists of devices attached
0123456789ABCDEF recovery
If TWRP would use my bin file that I changed to update.zip then I think I could reinstall the factory image with no problem.
What other things can I try?
Thanks!

Since adb works use adb to push another Rom to the device. Look at general section kinfaun's Kindle Fire for beginners and how to flash a ROM if not in awhile I will help you push one to the device.

you need TWRP 2.2.2.1 or lower to install an unmodified Stock update.zip
but you can install my [2014][Pre-Rooted][Stock]System Version 6.3.3-Original Kindle Fire Only
just download to pc> connect kindle to pc>
in TWRP select mount>check sd card>select mount usb
copy preroot.6.3.3.zip to sd card folder
unmount sd card>select install
When you go to mount make sure system and Data have no checks in the box either.
Holy crap that worked!!! Very easy!!
Thank you very much!!

I did a factory reset too, as I was interested in going back to stock. Now mine won't boot to Kindle OS, just to TWRP. I tried the 6.3.3 pre-rooted and Modaco, but it still won't boot. Seems like a similar issue but I can't figure it out. I appreciate any help!
