I'm looking for a simple way to get rid of all the extra bloatware. I don't mind if I have to root and flash a "custom stock rom" to do so. I want to remain stock as possible what is the best solution for this?
BTW I already unlocked my phone don't know if that's going to be an issue.
Thank you XDA.
Clean rom for the win but any rom will do.

Have you gone in to the application settings and disabled the apps that you don't want to run? You can disable several of them there.
Yes, you can go to settings>application manager then tap on an application then click disable.
Only issues is that it still on you phone taking up precious space with useless crap. Custom ROM has many benefits:
1. No bloat
2. Multi-window (with any app)
3. WiFi tether
4. Many more useful toggles in notification area
5. Improved battery life
Root uninstaller. Works great

you can root your phone and install any custom rom. And custom whatever you like
I don't want to use a rom. I want to be most stock as possible.

Then do what "Osu777' mentioned above if you want to remain stock... use the "disable" function in the application manager.

Then you should wait for the Att OTA. Tmobile OTA is due 12/19/12. ATT should follow within the next 2 years. Att can be a little slow.

I've been using SAUROM rom for 2 weeks now and loving it!
I have decided to make a post with everything that I have done to my M to solve some of the issues I and many others I have found had with it.
I suggest you root your phone to get the full benefits of it and these modifications: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1940630
How to unlock your bootloader: http://vulnfactory.org/blog/2013/04/08/motorola-bootloader-unlocking/
1. Run and function in full screen mode (No Nav Bar) (UPDATED!)
Easy way:
Download full!screen from the app market by tsorn, what makes this aspp so great is that you can set it to turn full screen on only when selected apps are running then you can optionaly set function keys to be placed in the corners for things like a back button, home, or menu, its really great!you can even set the size and opacity of the buttons, as well as location!, this app has made my razsr all i dreamed it would be!
Harder way:
This will require a app called HideBar (shocker..) found on the market it allows you to either use widgets or a system notification to hide/unhide the system bar at the bottom of the screen with multiple options on showing it again, to control your phone without your system bar I use LMT ( http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1330150 ) it allows you to control your phone (Back, Home, Search, Menu) with gestures, Input number is 5, please follow the directions in the post, there are others apps that do this as well, all with differnt features, look around. This is great to play games in full screen.
2. Wifi Tether
Follow this post: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1981625
3. Moving Apps 2 SD
This is somewhat a PIA until you get the hang of it but can be done using a app called Directory Bind, Official Thread: ( http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1410262 ) discussion on using it with the M here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1913576
There is a easier way to do this if you just want to move large games over 1gb look for gl2sd in the market I tested it on my M and it works fine.
4. Notification Toggle widgets.
This is done using a great app with a amazingly helpful dev called "Notification Toggle" which can be found in the market, it supports all the great Cyanogen Like Toggles that we all love, works better if installed a system app which is really easy!~ just follow the help link in the app to see how he gives multiple examples. This is very customizable sp? from widget button styles to colors and more!
5. Fully working Android 4.2 KB with Trace!(Think Swype.)
I LOVE THIS KEYBOARD! Uses trace like swype and swiftkey, but IMO much much better, less memory, way more accurate and a cool preview function as you "swype". thread found here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1964663
If you have any other great improvments you would like to share post them and I will add them to the list!
Thank you!, Hope this helps some of you enjoy your M a little more then you do.
P.S. Feel free to pm me if you need help finding or getting hold of any of apps! however if you Google "Aptoide" I think you will manage getting everything you need to set up your phone very, very, cheaply.
I take no credit for any of the information provided, this is simply a consolidation of information i found useful to modifying the overall enjoyment of my phone.
Gonna give that Notification Toggles widget a shot thanks!

Welcome, its great I changed my background to match the color of the drop down and it looks built in, ill post a screen later.
Also added #5 the android 4.2 Keyboard!
so for the 4.2 keyboard do you just switch apk's or is there some other method to installing it from the "4.2 mod package"?
edit: seeing the stock rom is odexed I'm guessing you just install the apk instead of replacing the stock one?

For full screen you should try full!screen by tsorn It's been working for me. I have been using the free version. The paid version you are supposed to be able to setup full screen for only the apps you want full screen when they are run.
Thank as for the tip ill check it out now sounds more of what I want anyway
Found the app will add it to the post when I get to the PC its a really great app thanks for the heads up

LOL thank you...also it doesn't seem to bind the actual app to the SD card, just the extra data....so it intrinsically only solves like 30% of the problem....

Now Flipboard is available for Android Tablets, too, but only with screens 7" or higher.
I would like the tablet-mode on my note 2, but i cant change between.
Is there a tablet mod from flipboard for the note 2?
Just tried it in tablet mode with the xposed app settings mod in here and it works fine. You have to install the framework in the first post first

Can I ask why not? I get not wanting to go as far as custom roms, but with adblockers and access to the system and data partitions, you can do quite a bit without having to go for a full rom.
Well I'm just comfortable with touchwiz and honestly the last phone I had I thought I knew what doing and bricked. So I lost the courage just getting into all this so I'm a newbie...
:'( but I see all the customizations and would love to have them so I just wanted to take the easy way out and get some apks that would work with my stock...

Best way to customize your unrooted phone is probaly thru your launcher of choice... there are some that can be customized more than others, basically what your looking for is different themes/icons which you can find for free or buy in the play store.

Have to agree with lickarock. There's still quite a lot you can do without going all out like full ROMs. If you simply root your phone and load SuperSU (SuperUser), you can load something like ES File Explorer and do simple installs of apk files through there. You really don't have to worry about bricking your phone in that situation.
While I do load different roms on my N2, like you, I just wanted to get blacked out apps also. I'm running blacked out Gmail and Facebook currently, which I loaded through ESFE. Just make sure you uninstall the original apps then install the apks through ESFE and reboot. Everythings running smooth on my phone.
I've had a few scares loading different ROMs where my phone wouldn't boot up and I thought I maybe bricked my phone.......luckily I got it back up and running. Battery pulls suck.......lol
Just be sure to read through all the posts that you find which interest you. Typically, people post issues they are having and possible fixes. If you want to run different roms or something later, just be sure your phone is running the correct specs for it, ie....your baseband version is MA7 vs MC2, not all roms are compatible with multiple versions.

What spary said! You're really better off just waiting for one of the devs to roll the updates out.
Again....read the threads all the way through and if you still have questions, do a SEARCH and see if you can find your answers.......if you can't find after searches, don't be afraid to ask ?s.

If you want a brick-proof(ish) method to get a Root, just Odin a full rooted restore to your phone. Such as this one: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2241136. Its about as mindless and safe as you can get.

If you choose not to root, there are still several ways to have a highly customized phone.
Personally, I am a fan of rooting. I have rooted every android phone I have had except my Note 2. Long story short, I bought my Note 2 through my business and cannot afford to run into any headaches that can sometimes pop up even to the most experienced flasher. I will say the Note 2 is also the first android phone that I haven't felt the need to root for increased performance. CPU, RAM, Battery life, this phone has all three for days.
I created a thread dedicated to creating a custom look without root. And in many ways this is the most custom phone I've ever had.

It's a work in progress and I am adding more and more stuff all the time.

For a blacked out messaging app you might check out Go SMS Pro. There are downloadable themes and you can make your own.

Simple. To make it simpler and better!
Xposed Framework definitely fun to play around with. Opens your eyes on new possibilities without flashing different ROMs, if you're like me and like a specific ROM / stock.
Mainly to satisfy the tweaking itch. For me, it's compulsive on Android devices nowadays. Some of the big reasons include:
AFWall+
AdAway
Greenify
Nandroid backups
Custom ROMs
Custom kernels
OpenPDroid
Backup of SMS/MMS & apps
Xposed
With KitKat....apps monitoring the battery (gsam battery, betterbatterystat, etc) need root now
Sent from my Nexus 5 using XDA Premium 4 mobile app
App ops is the reason I rooted. It disappeared with 4.4.2 and can only be retrieved with root now.
Sent from my Nexus 7 using Tapatalk
I built on @locusto03's list:
AFWall+ (privacy, security)
AdAway (ad IP list blocker)
Greenify (memory optimization, performance, battery savings)
Nandroid backups
Custom ROMs
Custom kernels (allow you to over/under clock, etc according to your performance and battery preferences, network speed preferences, GPU preferences, etc. One of my favorite performance tweaks allows users to under-charge the battery slightly, thereby extending its lifetime).
OpenPDroid (privacy tweak)
Backup of SMS/MMS & apps
Xposed (unlocks a veritable smorgasbord of nifty interface enhancements, etc)
+ Xprivacy
+ PimpMyRom (many performance tuning enhancements)
+ Multiboot (ability to boot into distinctly different environments/roms - you could make your stock rom your main and install a custom rom, as well. Just read the about it 1st).
+ dSploit (pen testing)
+ WifiKill (look it up)
+ SecDroid (added security)
+ Ability to remove bloatware (Titanium Backup)

Rick
I felt the same way. I went nearly a week without even unlocking my bootloader, which is unheard of for me. I am now running PA with franco kernel and I don't notice much difference from stock, though the minor enhancements are worth it. I'm excited to play with other kernels to see how much battery life I can squeeze out of this thing.

Zedomax. It's an older hack, but if you go through the steps very carefully, one at a time, and be sure to follow the instructions on the video to a T then it's good. I just used it yesterday on a 2013 Nexus 7.
